“I waited three years to be able to come back and eat the spicy wontons here. I have fond memories of eating this during undergrad with some friends, and pairing it with Assam tea, or black tea. It was as delicious as I remember! I can't wait to come back again. :)“
“Never had chinese food like this before. The dish that really blew my mind was the spicy fish-I think there was a lot of szechuan pepper in the broth 'cause I never knew your tongue could be numb like that in a very different and odd sort of way. The fish was excellent, probably something simple like a tilapia or some other white fish, but done very well. Next came the shredded potato and garlic dish. Very garlicky, potatoes were ok but this was not part of the hit parade. The eggplant was absolutely delicious, a great tangy sauce, lots of garlic and chiles and the right amount of heat. Finally, the other star of the show was the fried oysters. Hot an crispy, nicely spiced with slices of green chiles and cilantro on top. Again, I have to say I've never had chinese food like this before. This is a hole in the wall but well worth it. The portions are also super generous, and served family style, the four dishes were just about as much as we could eat-we took a bit home in the end. Not everything came out at once and we did I'm get egg drop soup to start which was also great. Service was normal for a hole in the wall. Try it, you won't be disappointed.“
“Edit: Best Chinese Buffet for miles. We were so happy to find this gem in our new town, which is *in* Bloomington (right next to Ellettsville). The food is always fresh and delicious. They have the most consistently delicious buffet options and the *$14 buffet comes with a drink! Me and my husband eat here at least once a week.“
“Visited here after seeing it on the map - the staff are very casual but nice, and I like the laid back atmosphere. I got the willow beef, which was nice and spicy, as well as the pot stickers.I also appreciated the distinction of the American Chinese food from the traditional Chinese food - most places I've been to either don't do that or just don't offer things beyond the American variants.“
“A small, quaint food spot.Stopped there a couple months ago for the 1st time. Pleasantly surprised by the flavor and freshness of the food. Our order was hot, fresh and seemed like it was freshly made upon ordering. The young lady serving us was polite and friendly. The atmosphere is soothing. It is not as modern as some of the restaurants in the downtown area but it felt nice, cozy and welcoming.Again, the food was amazing. The veggies were fresh, the chicken (teriyaki) was piping hot and had flavor bursting from it. The bourbon chicken was some of the best I've had. Again, fresh, tasty, deliscous!!!They also offer some more tradional oriental dishes that we don't find at many other places.I will absolutely be going back and supporting this small, local, business again.Highly recommend!!Parking: Street parkin right out front of the shop, but not always easy to snag one because it is very close to downtown. You definitely have options. There is a parking garage right beside it also.“
“Ordered takeout while stopping through Bloomington. OMG was it delicious! I'm coming back here next time I'm in Bloomington. I like that they're off of I-69 as I don't particularly care to drive through the college side.“
“Fantastic, fast Asian food with huge portions!! I had the Combo 2 ( that's two entree selections with either fried rice or Lo Mein, and an egg roll). Combo 3 is way too much food for me. I had Chicken with vegetables and Orange Chicken. You can ask for a sample taste if you're not sure!! Consistantly great!!!“
“This is one of my favourite Chinese food restaurants in Indiana. The food always tastes good. Their service is so amazing, they went extra mile for us to cook everything separately as we dont eat pork. I have been here several times and going to come over and over again.“
“I got the Kong Pao chicken because it was recommended on Yelp. It was fair but my friends got the house pad Thai, sesame chicken, general tso chicken, and the chicken fried rice. Here were my rankings of the dishes: 1. House pad Thai 2. Sesame chicken 3. General tso chicken 4. Chicken fried rice 5. Kong pao chicken Service was good and quick portions are good i recommend.“
“I just recently started ordering here and haven't had a bad meal yet. I've tried Chicken and Broccoli, Chicken with Garlic Sauce, Pork with Garlic Sauce, Braised Pork, Braised Chicken, Salted Chicken....every single dish was excellent. The portion sizes are big, especially the Chicken with Garlic. I don't really understand how anyone could write a poor review about the quality of the food they received from here.It isn't the fastest place, by any means. It's going to be 20-30 min on carry out, and 45-60 min on delivery. They need to learn to overestimate, rather than underestimate, how long until your order will be ready.“
“Been here twice, first experience was so fun! It was my boyfriend and I alone on my birthday and it wasn't busy. The chef was so funny and we had such a great time drinking their sake options. The second experience was okay, we were sat next to a family and the chef wasn't as engaged with us. I guess that's just how it is sometimes though. Hibachi food is great, sushi is just okay. Has tables for hibachi experience and regular restaurant tables. And inside is clean.“
“I come here 2-3 times a week for my lunch break and ive never been disappointed, the staff are great and the food is even better! You can pickup your food and go run errands for a few hours and it'll still be steaming hot when you open it up it's kind of insane.“
“Just moved to town and are always on the lookout for good American Chinese restaurants. Decided to give Sunny Palace a try, and will definitely go back! Ordered take-out and arrived a bit early so also scoped out the interior, which is well laid out and seemed recently updated. The staff were warm and prompt. We ordered sweet and sour chicken with white rice and Chicken pad thai. Both were delicious!“
“Pretty good. I had General Tso's chicken because it was my first time here. The prices were pretty good for the portions they give you. An order of something will give you 2 or 3 meals, which is great. I wish they had dine in. Seems like one of the last places to recover from the pandemic.“
“The last time I ordered delivery, the food was really good. I ate in myself about 18 months ago and the service was great and they had my food out in less than 10 minutes, actually a lot less.Vegetarian options: I didn't get any myself, but with it being Chinese food, i would think that all the various meals that have meat can be vegetarian. ****Parking: It's by Kroger Seminary, so plenty of free parking right across from Seminary Park.“
“Underrated as the best Chinese spot in town for garlic green beans, shrimp with heads on (if you want them), and general tso's. Their Americanized menu is executed just as well as their more traditional items and they're always very kind. Never been disappointed with the food here, flavor-wise or price-wise. Remember to bring cash though or you'll need to run to an ATM nearby.“
