“We were looking for a quick bite to eat and we didn't want the same old places. We found this gem and were not disappointed. We came the last day they were open for the season but we plan to visit again when they open in the spring.”
“A cute little cafe with friendly and energetic staff. The spinach egg and cheese sandwich was delicious. I definitely will be going back.Kid-friendliness: I didn't bring any kids but I saw how they interacted with the kids there and they were so friendly and fun. They also had a cute little antler game for the kids to toss rings on to.”
“A great little BBQ place. We had the pork/brisket dinner. It came with 2 sides and a roll. The coleslaw was good, but the potatos with parsley and chives were phenomenal. As was the brisket. Also, there were different bbq saucesto try for the pork...it was a great meal. And atmosphere was awesome. Staff was friendly and helpful.”
“Stopped by here yesterday to get myself a butter burger and was annoyed to find out I was charged $0.40 for condiments. Sorry but what? When did I have to start paying for my ketchup for my fries? Who doesn’t eat fries with condiments? Ridiculous. The burger was delicious as always and I enjoyed my flavor of the day. I’ll obviously still return because I love the food; but just an annoying observation I found on my receipt over my ketchup request.”
“4pm on a Wednesday my wife and i ate at craft house.I had a bowl of chili, which was very hearty with lots of meat. The flavor was good, but nothing special. My wife had a cup of French onion soup she said it was good. We both had the yellow perch dinner. Our plates were delivered quickly and piled high with thick meaty fillets and side winder fries. All were cooked just right. The side of Cole slaw was very good. We had enough food left over for another meal. Our 2 soups 2 meals and 2 waters $57. We will be back.”
“I will never forget this restaurant. I went out to eat by myself with my two boys & everyone was sooo sweet and helpful. They went above and beyond for us three. My little one was super fussy since it was nap time, so they helped cut my other sons pancakes up… just the fact the waitress insisted on doing that, made me so happy. They even have a toy bin, children can play with so they can stay busy while they wait for the food! I think that’s such a cool thing to have as a restaurant, because children are usually forgotten about. Also, the prices are SOOO good. Family friended. Great hospitality. Food portions are great.”
“Our service was amazing! Food was out quick, and tasted so good! Tater tots are very crispy, and burgers are cooked with perfection. I recommend getting the jalapeño poppers for a starter!”
“I got a half chicken bacon ranch VEGAN salad, which was a good size. The ranch dressing was so good. I am also so happy I got the banana cake cream cheese frosting cake (VEGAN) it's rare to be able to get such good vegan baked goods. They can't guarantee a gluten-free environment since it's a bakery, but if you're just gluten-intolerant you might try the impossible burger on lettuce without a bun. Would have been nice to have extra lettuce for a "wrap" since there was no bun, but not too bad.The tomato soup was great too. Overall good experience and looking forward to coming back.Vegetarian options: Separate vegan menu and several vegan baked goodies!”
“It looks like Hunter's doesn't need another five-star review but here goes... I enjoyed my first visit there a few days ago. The rauchbier (smoked beer) was excellent and a rare find, and the red ale, kolsch and lager were good as well. There are many others I haven't tried yet. Bill knows his beer and he pays attention to his guests which is becoming less and less common in a world of corporate microbreweries where your server often doesn't even drink beer and doesn't know a thing about it. The flatbread pizza was just what I needed to go with my drink, and the live entertainment from Beth Niemann went well with both. And they played Cheers on the TV rather than the usual sports. I'd rather look at Shelly Long than at a bunch of guys running around in helmets. I'm glad I chose to stay in Chesterton and visit Hunter's for my beer, and I'll be back.”
“Started out at another place in Chesterton. It was a flop ( starts with H) Drove over to 219Tap Room. Great atmosphere, customer service, beer, and food. If you like any of those, got to stop by!!Wheelchair accessibility: Great for everyone”
“Been there twice. Once for dinner. Once for lunch. Both meals were excellent. The service was also great. I recommend it if you're in the town of Cheese and you need tacos.”
“The service was friendly and quick. The food portions were ample. The selection for lunch was varied. Everyone in our group tried something different and everyone was pleased with their selections. We highly recommend a stop if you like to try local places.”
“If you’re looking for a place that accommodates dietary needs, aka celiac, gluten sensitivity this your place. Food was wonderful, services was great, our waitress was able to answer my questions and didn’t make me feel like a burden. And the atmosphere is soft!”
“Fantastic food and great service. The owner Lisa and her husband are so kind and treat you like family. It was our first time and we will definitely be back. A hidden gem in Chesterton. Great live music also.”
“The food is amazing, the desserts are popular so order them early. Good beer selection with excellent staff taking care of you. Whenever we come to this area we don't miss an opportunity for dinner at the Octave grill.”
