I like El Cantarito at Michigan city a little better than Laporte El Cantarito anyways Great tacos with Carne Asada and chips with salsa great service and atmosphere. I will be coming back soon!

Love this restaurant. This Mexican food almost taste as good as the authentic Mexican food from Juarez, Mexico. We went here for dinner on 22 February 2024 on our last leg home of vacation. I was amazed of how tasty the food was. I had the 3 carnita tacos with refried beans. Bought me back to my memories of visiting Mexico. The atmosphere was warm. Staff was awesome! Restaurant was clean prices were cheap.All in all this will be my go to Mexican restaurant on my way to Chicago or on my way back home. Thanks El Cantarito MC. This, Army veteran was very full and pleased with the quality and quantity of food. Your service was excellent. I will be back?? Just a suggestion: maybe add verde( green sauce as a choice besides red sauce).Parking: Good number of spots.

Tiffany is an amazing new addition the wait staff as all the staff here are excellent and welcoming and the food is authentic and fresh! Drinks, appetizers, and desserts are all very much a 10!Parking: It's in a mall setting so parking is plentiful.Kid-friendliness: It's family oriented so everyone is encouraged and welcome.

Wonderful authentic Mexican. Unfortunately the staff just wasn't in the groove.Our drink orders couldn't be fulfilled because the bar was out of whiskey and amaretto. The appetizer shows up....no silverware.....entrée shows up almost immediately after and still no silverware.Would you like more chips and salsa? Sorry, not tonight.We were never given the opportunity to order another drink because the server came to the table to settle up the bill without asking if we were done.We were really disappointed with the whole experience this evening. The La Porte location has never failed to satisfy.

Followed the directions on my GPS to the address given and it took me to an apartment complex. I checked the address twice! So we didn't eat there couldn't ever find it! Wasn't happy we drove all over for nothing .
