I’ve been to many bakeries in my life, including several on my recent trip to New York City. This ring to write up there is one of the best bakeries ever. I’ve tried their bread, pudding, several different kinds of cookies, the cream puffs, and a cinnamon roll. Everything was delicious, but the bread pudding was exquisite.

We’re very fortunate to have such a fine bakery in Michigan city. Their hours of operation sometimes make it a little difficult to purchase bakery goods when needed but, hands down, the place is fantastic. My French in-laws just visited last week. They were shocked that a US French bakery could be so authentic. Their pies are mouthwatering, the fresh fruit tarts are beautiful & delicious!

Truffles is a brilliant gem, well worth traveling from Chicago to enjoy the unbelievable richness of it pastries. When we are in Michigan City, Truffles is a regular stop for the week's provisions. Recently they concocted an exceptional birthday cake for us and we were amazed at the results. Truffles is a landmark institution! Nancy and Tom
