“Fantastic home-cooked style. What sold me was the delightful breading on the chicken strips. Light and fluffy; that quality and care is severely lacking nowadays and this easily makes a five star restaurant. I was told the desserts are handmade as well.Out of the way, gives the impression that it's kept afloat by a trucker and manufacturer customer base.Another holdout of the world before big corps started dominating the scene.Needless to say, we have an aging clientele with much to say of pertinence to our post-modern times. Welcome to small town America.”

“This is now our second time dining at Hunters Hideaway. First time my husband and I were in the bar seating areas that is very nice and cool atmosphere loved it. Second time there we sat in the family area with our family and kids personally not as cool atmosphere as the front area that was disappointing. Service was good but they seemed pretty busy but our waitress was still on it and great with the kids. We got several appetizers pretzel’s were amazing but four for the price and have several kids you have to order several unless you have a family of four and the price. Their breaded mushrooms are really good they aren’t that frozen bar breading definitely a nice pick with a light crisp hand breaded mushrooms you get a good amount for the price only thing I wished was they had some sort of maybe a house special sauce with the mushrooms verses just ranch when they have really good breaded mushrooms. I got the appetizer spicy shrimp as my main meal and you get a ton of shrimp they had a okay flavor maybe a little more spicy I would have liked them more. My husband got a burger that had spinach dip on it and he is not someone that would normally ever get anything like that on his burger ever and he said it was really good and he would get it again. One of my sons got the chicken quesadillas he really liked and it had good flavor, one of my sons got plain wings he said were good and my other son got boneless wings with the honey mustard sauce that he said was so so. Overall not a bad experience and we would go there again.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu and kids / family seating area.”

“Edited review. I wouldn't order the top sirloin again. Why do they put gravy on a perfectly good steak, that ruined it for me. Brussel sprouts were AMAZING! I'll go back, but not ordering steak again.”

“If you're looking for a delightful, peaceful place to hold a tea party, look no further. The finger sandwiches, pastries and desserts are all delicious, but the service is unmatched. The host and her husband are extremely accommodating, refills your tea, coffee and waters regularly and even has hats and dresses for you to take timeless pictures.”

“The pretzel was pretty solid...it had a decent amount of salt and good flavor, but it was on the verge of being overdone. Part of the bottom was quite dark. The nacho cheese dip was not good...it was very thin and just plain boring. The service was excellent, though! We were immediately greeted and felt so welcome. The staff was absolutely wonderful, so thank you!”

“Called the night before and they were able to accommodate a party of 14 the next day. Food was served hot, delicious and quick.I saw a previous post about “blood” on the walls in the bathroom. It isn’t blood but peeling paint where the restroom walls are being scrubbed/sanitized and red paint is showing through. This restaurant was VERY clean and all of the workers were friendly and diligent.10/10 recommend!”

“Ordered a meat pizza. Very good pizza. First time getting food here. The only issue we had was the pizza wasn't cut good. The toppings was falling off. We had to cut it at home. Just moved to Nappanee and we will order again.”

“The food I had was good. Soda was good. Everything seemed fresh. But, options are limited, as it's a small buffet. No beef or seafood selections at all, only chicken and pork. (I had the lunch buffet)Read a bunch of reviews about the paper plates or whatever... lol.. Let's just be honest here... most people use that stuff at their homes too, to also save on washing dishes.. I really see NO problem with a buffet restaurant doing the SAME thing...! Sure it seemed odd but think about it, it does kinda make sense...The food wasting sign was a little much in my opinion, because the cost of wasted food should already be factored into the set meal price.But overall I have no complaints.”

“We come to Nappanee every two years or so to get our motorhome serviced. We live in West Texas. This is always our first stop coming to town and last stop on way out of town. Food is always fresh and delicious. The egg drop soup and ragoons are the best! Prices have risen but everywhere else has so they are not out of line. Wish they would come with us. We could sure use their quality of food at home. We will be back!”
