“Papa Nachos!!! Papa Nachos!!! Papa Nachos!!!???I’ll keep this short. Strawberry margarita has real strawberries in it and packs a punch with delicious flavor!The Papa Nachos was something I never knew I needed in my life. Anytime I’m in Indianapolis I’ll be back for more. So damn goooood!! Chorizo chicken steak and cheese over waffle fries?!! What’s not to like?Salsa was great! Chips just ok. I prefer thinner chips.No issues with the service and the food came out really fast! Thanks guys for a great meal! Not bad on the pockets either.“
“This has become our new favorite Mexican restaurant. The drinks, food and service are always top notch! Wonderful service from Alfredo and Kike! Baltazar takes care of making sure chips and salsa are served. Very friendly atmosphere ? Keep up the good work!“
“Iquanas is always a great experience. The staff is nice, food is excellent and the place is always clean. I have seen them move the table to sweep under the table between guests. I have not seen that in other places! I highly suggest the Raspberry Margarita and their queso! Definitely will be back….“
“Ok y'all, I live in Texas, was in town to visit my sick dad this past week and had the opportunity to check this place out. Wow y'all. Some of the best Tex Mex I have had. Full stop. The rice and beans are just excellent. The salsa is amazing, and the chips were light with the perfect bit of salt. And y'all, please don't even get me started on the Queso. I can say that El Potro is truly an excellent choice. Had the spicy chimmi (on special for like $9). I liked it so much that the next day when my wife got into Plainfield, I told her that I had a new place to take her. I wanted to try more of the Mexican side of this TexMex as to compare it to what I get at home. So I ordered a tamale, chili relleno, rice and beans while my wife had the Acapulco. Damn y'all. Homemade tamale's are easy to get in Texas, and a staple. These were no different. So many places outside Texas, and some inside Texas, have these little somewhat anemic looking corn straws with little resemblance of any meat....not here. The tamale was Texas sized. Like they all should be and very typical of homemade. Every thing was excellent....again! Attention to detail is what sets this place apart.Large portions and You know when the small things are done very, very well, i.e., rice, beans, chips and salsa, the rest of the menu falls right in line. To top it off, the service I got both days, was top notch. Full knowledge of the menu and able to answer any questions without hesitation. The menu is vast and I didn't see immediately see what I wanted on the menu. So I just told the server what I wanted and our server put it together and I was charged right at the same price as other combinations. Had conversations with both servers and they were so nice and a pleasure to talk to. I really hope y'all enjoy El Potro and stop in for a bite. It will be the last time you ever have to search for good TexMex. You will know where it is. Right there on west 40 just inside Plainfield from Indy. A big thanks to the servers there at El Potro. We really enjoyed eating and talking with y'all and look forward to our next visit. God bless.“
“This place was awesome. Waitress never let our coffee run out and she was busy. The food was very flavourful and very good portions. Not too much and not too little. Very well priced. Walked out a satisfied customer. Will be back. Highly recommend to anyone.“
“Food was delicious, hot and filling. Service with a smile and the music wasn't too loud so you could talk normally of you were in a group. I love how bright and welcoming the restaurant is and the margarita hit the spot and was the perfect accompaniment to the meal. One of my faves to dine at and it had been too long.“
“As a Mexican, I am very, very picky about going to a Mexican restaurant, especially coming from the Chicago Land area into Indianapolis and seeing the local food scene.Hats off to Don Pablo as his restaurant met my expectations with his delicious food. You get complimentary chips and salsa, the chips were hot and fresh and the salsa was full of flavors. We started off with the Guacamole Casero, which was unique as it has shredded lettuce and tomatoes mixed into it. It was delicious, however my personal preference would have been wanted it to have a little more salt and lime juice.We ordered 6 tacos and an order of the quesabirria tacos- we over estimated how hungry we were so this review is solely on what we ate.Tacos de Chorizo: this was an instant hit for me, it reminded me of tacos back home! Full of flavor, consistency in the chorizo and not overwhelming with cilantro and onions. Paired it with their orange salsa which was straight fire.Tacos de Camarón: The shrimp were cooked with a fajita seasoning and were not over cooked which can be a common issue. They were medium in size and were equally distributed within the taco. My husband really enjoyed them.Quesabirria tacos: hands down the best ones we’ve had out here in Indiana. They were not over saturated in any oil, had a perfect crunch, queso was on point and the consomé was delicious and did not lack flavor. The rice, did its job, but personally I’m more of a white rice gal with my meals.Looking forward to having the others later tonight!Customer service needs some work, we were only checked in on our server once and it was when we were at the end of our meal. However she was helpful early on into our meal and brought us extra tortilla chips when we got our guacamole, which did not come with any additional chips, simply the 4 in the molcajete.Overall a good experience and ever in Plainfield, I’d stop by again.I will say one of the things I was not fully a fan of was being charged .75 per cup of salsa to take some home with the rest of my tacos. I was surprised to see that on my receipt and was told “we don’t make the prices, I’m just ringing it in”. Which to an extent I understand, however I would have used the salsa there if I had finished all of my tacos. But that is very much a me thing and the way I think about things.“
