“If you are looking for a pleasant dining experience and affordable food, this is the place! We had the salmon, jalapeño burger, and pretzel appetizer. All of them were delicious and one of the best priced meals we have had for the quality of food in a long time! Highly recommend“

“Local staple now. Probably was the same when I went there 25 years ago but I don't really remember it from back then. The place is located near Purdue campus just down toward Wabash from Chauncey Hill Mall. The place is just an old style diner/fast food joint with organization and decor from akin to 1950s American drive-ins, service burgers and Root Beer (very good root beer) in a frosty glass. The root beer is unlimited. The crowd was basically the students and Purdue and mostly parents and prospective students at least at the time that we were there. Burgers are good but I didn't have the Duane Purvis (don't like Peanut Butter, sorry). Place gets busy so expect to wait.“

“Great location and the inside of the restaurant was clean and had well themed decorations. Our server seemed very bored and disinterested in us which did not help with our overall feeling of eating there. Food was good, the omelettes were big and there was a special desert promo for first timers.“

“I had a craving for pancakes! I went to get some and although they were large they were underdone. I ate them unhappily but called server over and asked if I could get one small cake cooked longer so there is "crust' for lack of a better term. She got me one and was told to tell me, "next time order them we'll done." Guess who will never go back again for terrible pancakes. Will go to a restaurant that knows how to make pancakes. That being said, they still have one of the best breakfasts in town.“

The Bistro Bistros • $$
100 S Grant St, West Lafayette

“We've had brunch before at 8Eleven, but dinner raises the bar. This is high end food at a (relatively) mid range price. The meatless mushroom bolognese was exceptional and the special sea bass was as good as it gets. Presentation is beautiful and shows thought for the dishes. Total bill for three main with one drink was $125, which is a steal for food of this quality. Service was professional and relaxed.“

The Whittaker Kitchen American • $$

“Went here for the first time during Greater Lafayette Restaurant week 2024. We had the glazed honey balsamic chicken dinner, and it was wonderful. The deserts were also great. The service was very good, and it had a wonderful atmosphere for a quiet dinner with friends. Definitely need to make a reservation as seating is limited. We will be back! They have a full menu on their website. You will need to tell them your order before you arrive. (I think they asked for it before noon the day of your visit when making the reservation.)“

“Nice, fancy place for an affordable lunch date with my wife! Of course, since it's run by the school, it's sort of like eating someone else's lab or homework, but I didn't mind. 3 course meal at a nice sit-down place for around $15 on campus--great deal. Check the menu online before you go, and the hours are short so make sure you get there in time. Website says reservations recommended but we've never had trouble just walking in.“
