The food is great and so is the service! It feels fairly crowded inside, though. The booths are uncomfortable because anytime someone moves (in your party or a table that shares the booth, the whole thing moves. So, you might be eating, then the table behind you sits down and disturbs everything or causes you to spill/drop something). After moving to Derby 2 years ago my husband and I discovered El Maguey. We love Mexican food and it's the best around! Their cheese dip and chips is always a must on each visit. We have had the chimichanga, fajitas, carne asada tacos and steak fajita quesadilla which are all very good. I hate to admit it but we eat there at least once a week. It's definitely worth a try if you happen to be in Derby and are craving Mexican food, good service and an enjoyable restaurant atmosphere.
Waitress did not clear dirty dishes. That's a big deal for me. I don't want to sit after dinner and visit with a table full of dirty dishes. Chips were great, not too salty and fresh. Hubby cleaned his plate which is unusual :)
