“Passing through KC on a multi-state road trip, looked up best BBQ spots and Q39 was on multiple lists. Lunch did not disappoint. Wife and I had the Judges platers. Chicken, pork, and sausage for her. Brisket, ribs, and sausage for me. All of the meats were amazing. Our server, Maddie M., was very friendly and helpful in choosing options. Normally we enjoy having a slower paced meal but since we're traveling it was nice that we were in and out in under an hour. Highly recommend!“
“Best place like it. And always great food, even though the prices keep rising. And as always the hottest ladies around.Parking: On Fri sat may be harder to park, but lots of stores right thereKid-friendliness: Lots of action and stuff to look at.Wheelchair accessibility: Everything you need“
“Lonnie's Reno Club serves up fantastic jazz with great food and a positive vibe. The staff is super friendly, and the food is top-notch. Trust me, you won't find an experience like this anywhere, and Lonnie's talent is unmatched. Definitely worth going – you won't be let down. We have been 4 times and will be back again soon. Every time is such a different experience. I really can't say enough great things about this show, it is my favorite and I have been to a lot of shows :)“
“We had a great experience here, the location is really cool and we sat on the patio and it was beautiful out. The patio is very well screened in and they had a set up where they could close it up however and make the patio indoor also and that was really cool. We got a few different dishes and everything was very, very good top notch. Favorites for sure were the street corn, burnt ends, and creme brulee“
“Tim was the best waiter. He was accommodating to our very large group and so much fun. He dealt with all of our loud chaos well. The drinks and food were good too and came out quickly. I got clam chowder and a lobster roll, which was great! Crab cakes were good too! We will definitely be coming back.“
“March 2024Following a show at Aztec, it made perfect sense to return here with my wife and parents. They never disappoint. Lovely atmosphere, always very friendly staff, and beautiful food. I enjoyed the lobster bisque but was especially blown away by the lobster pasta. Wandering Vine’s chef is truly creative and I greatly admire her colorful original plating.June 2023My parents enjoyed Wandering Vine so much that we were all excited to go back when they were in town over the weekend. Funny enough, we ate at the same table where we sat last time. This place certainly has a unique charm to it, with a nice atmosphere that you won't quite find anywhere else. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and our service was wonderful. I had the braised lamb shoulder pasta. It was cooked to perfection and the flavors were fantastic. The toasted pine nuts were a nice touch. The only thing I would have changed is substituting the edamame for something else. It added nice color, but it was a little too much crunch for my taste. My wife had the special, which was goat cheese cavatelli pasta with crab meat. Absolutely delicious. My dad enjoyed the filet mignon and we all enjoyed our wine flights--one of my favorite things about this restaurant. Mine included wines from Argentina, France, and Washington. We didn't save room for dessert, but we did get a taste of the gazpacho, which was very flavorful with a nice kick to it. They are rotating their menu in a few weeks, so definitely reason to return.Feb. 2023Had dinner here with my wife and parents and we LOVED it. Sometimes it can be hard to find a place that satisfies both of my parents but we all thought the food was delicious and original. The staff was extremely friendly and professional as well. The place itself is quite unique too and I would recommend it for a nice romantic dinner. We can't wait to go back.“
“Lovely dining experience, I have been here many times and plan on doing so again in the future.Recently, I used Summit Grill's online reservation tool on a Friday evening. The place was packed, but we were seated within 5 minutes of the reservation. My food was delightful - I had the Farmhouse Burger and opted for steak fries as my side, 't'was glorious. My wife had the Fish & Chips, the fish was well fried and delicious - there was a lot there, to say the least, and also their fries deserve a mention as stout delightful chunks of potate. For dessert we split a slice of the cookies and cream cheesecake. Chocolatey and richly creamy, thank you very much.“
“Our waitress, Karen B was fantastic! She made our evening amazing. I'm 68 & she got the biggest tip I have ever given. The only thing that was bad, they wouldn't take my sons coupon for his birthday. It did say not on .holiday, I realize it was Easter Sunday. Again kudos to Karen B. I will be back & I sure will request her. Thanks for making it a amazing meal. CraigParking: More than plenty!Kid-friendliness: Our waitress made my Grandson day, being so accommodating. He talked about her all the way home.“
“Signature brisket platter was absolutely fantastic! The brisket was tender and juicy, with a perfect smoky flavor. The sides of coleslaw and baked beans were the perfect accompaniment. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Must try!“
“The only thing better than the food and drinks is the staff! Shout-out to Rosie Robert's for ALWAYS making me feel like an old friend whenever I come in. Whether I'm with my husband or group of friends, she's always consistent, professional, and friendly! My favorite dishes are the cinnamon roll pancake and breakfast bowl, paired with the Luscious Lavender - YUM!!!“
“Came here with a friend with little to no real expectations. We were simply looking for a new spot to chill while we catch up on "girl-talk" And Baaaaby - Wow! Hear me when I say EVERYTHING from the greeting, atmosphere, service, hospitality, FOOD and management on point!!My friend's a vegetarian so she ordered a veggie burger but wasn't a fan of the artichoke base pattie. Our waitress saw that she was only eating the fries and offered to prepare a whole new burger, substitute the pattie and add a few other fresh veggies and instantly my friend was won over.?Everything about my dish (bibimbap) was super flavorful and amazingly good!!I have yet to stop talking about my experience here I give a true 10/10Vegetarian options: Not a huge vegetarian option but the option available is delicious!“
“A surprised diamond in the urban core of the city!!!! The atmosphere was clean, crisp, and upscale. The service was pleasant, attentive, and informative. The food specials were intriguing and danced on the palette like a ballerina! The halibut was perfect!!! I was expecting more of a showstopper from the lobster rolls although it had great flavors the garlic bread did not do it justice! The drinks and appetizers took the show! This is definitely a come again spot!!! And YES!!!! I didn’t mind saying Bloody Mary once, twice, and even three times!!!!!!“
“THE BIG CHEESE!- Not the smash burger version. This was one of the best burgers I’ve had in KC recently. They have absolutely nailed the ratios. Specific descriptions: Ratios on this burger were excellent- the burger to bun size; width, height, and thickness, was perfect for a balanced bite. The type of bun they are using is soft, has a bit of texture on the outside, but also has enough spring to it that it does not get mushy or fall apart midway through the burger, or at all really. In fact, the structural integrity of the burger was better than any I’ve had lately- judging from first bite to last. The burger patty itself had a great sear on the outside, they really nailed the texture on this too. It’s got the sear slight crunch on the outside and then juicy on the inside. It was not at all greasy. The meat had great flavor and was not over salted- it was not bland either- they got the seasoning ratio right as well. I was skeptical about the arugula being too bitter for this burger. I was also skeptical about two slices of cheese being too much. I was wrong on both. The arugula is tossed with something that gives it just the tiniest bit of acid, this brightens it just enough to balance the richness of it. The American cheese they use is sliced thin, so using two slices is again just the right amount of cheese. The sauce they use on it complement the entire arrangement. Usually I will add sauce on anything. But not this burger. My dining partner mentioned they forgot to ask to leave the tomato off. Glad we didn’t. It was perfect in the bite mix. From the first bite to the last this was just an incredible burger eating experience. Their kitchen has absolutely got making a killer burger dialed in! The staff were very attentive and friendly. Speaking of adding sauces to things. The Brussels were good, but surprisingly I felt like the sauce on them was too much and made the Brussels soggy. The sauce is delicious, but a little of it goes a long way. Next time I will see if they are willing to put the sauce on the side and dip them instead. I also like that they have the small beer pours so I can try some of the local/ seasonal beers too. We will be back. Thank you!!!“
“The other BK as we call it. Love it. We had brunch this morning and it was wonderful. Our server Paul was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Been here for dinner several times and it's always great. Will definitely be back for brunch! Sorry I forgot to take photos of our food at restaurant. I'm posting what's left of my delicious breakfast sandwich. Husband had an omelette.Btw be careful what ketchup you choose. They have 3 different flavors.“
“We had an issue at the beginning of the meal but the manager handled it very well. We were thankful for the help and our waiter was one of the best I’ve had! I was unsure about eating here at first because of the issue but now I’m going to be coming back very soon!“
“We're from out of town, and needed to get some BBQ while in the KC area, we were not disappointed. I learned so much about this place in the few minutes we were there placing our carry-out order. First, this place cares for its employees, I know because Issac shared that he has worked there since he was 16, and that seemed like several years ago (you still look young Issac). He also said he's had a z-man every day, and still loves them, and I concur, that was a beast of a sandwich, possibly the best sandwich of any kind I have ever consumed. I learned that the food was incredible because there was a fast moving line that was out of the building, which compelled us to order take out, but I would wait next time, knowing how awesome the food is now.I make some BBQ at home, and it takes a ton of work to make it that good, and to make as much as Joe's does takes incredible preparation and knowledge, it is just simply great BBQ. Thank you Issac, and all the incredible people at Joes's. I may never be able to eat BBQ anywhere else ever again.“
“My husband and I had our date night at Cascone's and everything was delicious! We started with the bread and Sicilian dip. Always a great way to start. My husband had the The Italian Flag which gives you three different dishes - baked lasagna, chicken parmigiana, and fettuccine alfredo. He said each was absolutely amazing. The sauces were well seasoned and so tasty. The noodles were nicely coated and the chicken was cooked perfectly. He added on two meatballs because he couldn't resist and the were spot on as well. There was a lot of food, so his remainders came home with us in a to-go box.I had the Crazy Alfredo. I love how you get to have chicken, Italian sausage and shrimp in the creamy, yummy Alfredo sauce. It has banana peppers which add the perfect tang to your bites. I can't forget to mention the sun dried tomato as well. It all comes together so well and again was just delicious. We shared a piece of chocolate cake for dessert and wow! It was just the right amount of sweet and was the perfect end to a lovely meal. We can't wait to come back.“
“Food was really good. Service was quirky and attentive. My only complaint about anything was the lighting. They have weird blue lights that (see picture) make it difficult to read the menu and see the food. I had to guess a lot about the flavors. This was on the back patio. I'll be back but I'm bringing my glasses next time.“
“Have been wanting to try for a while now and finally decided to give it a try. Wings were really good along with the Ribs. My wife who is pretty picky when it comes to bbq really enjoyed everything also. I would definitely recommend. It’s great to have a good bbq place near by.“
“If you've never been to Kitty's you need to stop reading these reviews and go right now. This is an amazing spot with a ton of history and has the best fast sandwich in KC. They don't skimp on the portion either, these are big sandwiches and they're 110% worth the money and wait.I love this spot and if you've never had it you're in for an absolute treat.“
“I wish I could give this place 6 stars. They deserve it. Me and the wife tried the one down in Dallas and loved it so when we found out there was one closer. We wanted to try it too, and today was the day. They was extremely flexible with our reservation (originally made for 730, they us change it to 6.)The server was great, friendly and professional and made awesome suggestions. The manager came out to let us know that one of the meals was over done, so it was going to be a few more minutes, and offered us free salads or soups. My wife had the lamb, which we both would recommend 100% I had the filet this time which was equally good. I had the Asparagus soup, which reminded me of a richer broccoli and cheese soup. We also had the Ahi Tartare, normally not my thing, but wanted to try something different, it didn't disappoint, if you like Ahi, I'd recommend.“
“First timer here! The food here was great and freshly prepared! We ordered the brussel sprouts first, then the Smoked Cuterie Platter with burnt ends. All the meats were tender and well smoked. Also enjoyed the bbq sauce. You should try them out! Note that you go to the counter to order and pay, then they bring the food to your table. No waitstaff. Also, be sure to park in the garage off State Line. They do validate your parking for up to 3 hours.“
“"I recently enjoyed a delightful breakfast at Sunrise on 39th! The service was impeccable, and the food was absolutely delicious. From the warm hospitality to the mouthwatering dishes, it was a truly memorable experience. Can't wait to visit again!"“
“Amazing place! The wings were an absolute hit! Definitely a fun spin on tradition wings. We had the honey chipotle flavor and it was so good! We couldn’t get enough! Our burgers were awesome! They’re big, juicy, flavorful! Everything you want in a burger! Service was great! Cece was so pleasant and kind! Absolute sweet heart. Definitely should add this place to your list!“
“We absolutely loved the cozy atmosphere. The Reuben sandwich is the best Reuben we've ever had. The patty melt was extremely delicious as well. I loved the potato hash as a side it was unique and flavorful. The service was great. Our waiter was friendly, informative, and very attentive. We are definitely making this a regular stop.“
“Food was so delicious, as was my beverage. Service was fantastic. We were so hungry that we neglected to take photos. Would highly recommend this place. A bit pricey, but also not terrible. One negative was it was cold and I was freezing.“
“Not sure what the theme for this restaurant was, but I had the impossible burger, and I was deeply impressed. I have been a beef eater, all my life. This burger was amazing. Would recommend trying it if you were curious. The staff was amazing, I can't remember the waitress name now, it was one of those 'like this city name but without the last letter's people. She did amazing.“
“A nostalgic environment. The menu is limited, but the food is excellent. Note that the menu slightly changes from week to week, or month to month or seasonly. So check their website. The artwork at the 21c was beautiful. And the TV was showing silent movies from the past. An excellent restaurant for dinner. We'll definitely be back.“
“This review will be a long one they deserve the recognition.Big Belly's is a PHENOMENAL restaurant.Pros:The servings are incredible, me and my girlfriend both ordered "small" and it was about regular plating, I imagine the big portion is BIG.For appetizers we got the sampler platter with Mozzarella Logs, Nachos and goat cheese balls with honey. The nacho chips are made in house but in my girlfriend's opinion it was missing either more cheese or a stronger cheese, I found it good as it was. The goat cheese balls are great if you like goat cheese however if they were made smaller I believe the ratio of breading to cheese would be better. The mozzarella logs and marinara were fantastic. :)I ordered the rattlesnake pasta and it was easily in my list of favorite pasta ever. Well seasoned, a tad spicy (the way I like it), and perfectly cooked. We also had the chicken Parm and the flavor was great, the breaded chicken was cooked perfectly, still moist inside. The side risotto that was ordered with it was good too just needed a tad more salt nothing big. We also got loaded BBQ belly fries they were amazing. Not a traditional Julian cut fry they are home made potato discs, the best surface area fry to be loaded with other things. They also help the less fortunate and are a shining example of a proper small business with their heads in the right place.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT.Cons (mostly for the owner):Be sure to thoroughly clean and dry all dishes there were no major issues but it was still visible. The garlic bread still needs work. While it is fine it needs more garlic and both sides need to be toasted equally. The atmosphere inside is fine, for now, but the outside needs to be decorated a bit. Adding potted plants and signs to the windows might be a bit tacky but it's a start until you can pretty it up more. Also salt and pepper shakers on every table if possible or ask if customers would like some. I also personally like red chili flakes but that's just my preference not a necessity.“
“Great dining experience! We sat at the chef’s counter and it was so cool to sit in front of the fire and watch all the food being made. The waitress was friendly and professional and made some great recommendations. She recommended 5-6 plates for the two of us. I highly recommend starting with the Clara Bow rolls. They are as good as everyone says they are. The croquettes and the bone marrow were also two of our favorites, but every dish was amazing and well presented. Overall, we may have found a new favorite restaurant in KC. Can’t wait to go back. Be sure to makes reservations as the place was quite busy. Also, check out the hotel bar if you have some time before or after.Update: We’ve been back several times now. You can’t go wrong here. Everything is amazing! Highly recommend!“
“A small bit wonderful spot that's been in KC for years. Pot Pie provides one with that feeling of home and the salads are leagues above your standard ice burg lettuce you get at other places. This is a warm homie atmosphere devoid of the echoed sounds of a cafeteria to get in larger restaurants. This also means seating can be limited so make your reservation early and enjoy!Vegetarian options: Not necessarily vegan but yes there are vegetarian options.Parking: If you cannot find parking on the street there is a parking lot nestled in the back. However this parking also serves the restaurant next door. So you'll want to arrive a bit early to insure a parking spot.“
“Not only was the cheeseburger I was served a perfect example of a smashburger, but the charming interior decor makes you feel like you've taken a ride in a time machine back to the 1950s. There's a very nice family-friendly vibe going on. Highly recommend.“
“A local favorite, always fresh, always delicious, small friendly vibes, incredible cocktails, what more can I say? Breakfast and lunch are bubbly and full of incredible options for all dietary restrictions. Vegan turmeric tofu scramble is both vegan and gluten free. Dinner vibes are moody with lots of candlelight. House made pasta and gnocchi, to die for, crab cakes and chicken livers are always raved about. Local beers and spirits, including NA options, served by knowledgable and friendly bartenders. For nearly twenty years Room 39 has served delightful experiences.“
“I had the duck and a sake flight. It was delicious and the flight was super interesting. My husband had the salmon. The menu is more set up for sharing, but the 2 dishes we had were full servings. It's also farm table seating. Meaning long tables they sit multiple parties at.Service was wonderful. Atmosphere was stunning.Highly recommend reservations. We got the brownie dessert, this wasn't my favorite and really expensive for $15. The video is of the creme Brule (not the brownie)“
“My husband and I, along with four friends, enjoyed an evening at The Puttery on Saturday and weren't disappointed. It is well executed, and we were greeted immediately by our Concierge, David, who was superb at making sure we had everything we needed. He checked on us frequently. The ambience is very cool with spectacular lighting, artwork and dark wood. You can tell that a lot of thought was put into it, and expense seemed to be no problem. We ordered chips and dips and a charcuterie board, which were filling and delicious. The charcuterie board, in particular, was five star and plentiful for six people. Drinks were very good too. Hats off to the kitchen and the bartender. They definitely know what they're doing. We had a blast playing miniature golf...some courses are more interesting than others, but hearing the crowd hooting and hollering by a missed putt or a hole-in-one added to the excitement of the evening. We'd definitely go back. It's such a great addition to Kansas City.“
“As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling bacon. I ordered their classic eggs benedict, and it was absolutely divine! The hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy, and the eggs were perfectly poached. The side of crispy hash browns added the perfect crunch to the meal. Looking forward to my next visit!“
“The sausage gravy here is amazing! I could drink it lol I had biscuits and gravy and it was amazing. I also love the potatoes. The pancakes melt in your mouth they were great. And my husband really liked the free cinnamon rolls. I'm from Texas and was just visiting but when I come back to Kansas city I'll definitely be “
“It is a very good restraunt their service is impeccable Chick-fil-A has nothing on them they are the best I also suggest getting custard or butterburgers they are so very good!?Kid-friendliness: It Is very kid friendly they even have jokes on the kids meal bags the hospitality is over the roof which is why I think all the staff is better than the whole company of Chick-fil-A.“
“This place is tucked away but worth the discovery. The staff was excellent and went above & beyond to make the dinner special. Deliciously crafted dishes that tickle your tongue with flavor and texture. From the appetizers to dessert, Chef Ryan knows what he’s doing and we’re lucky he’s sharing his craft with Kansas City. Highly recommend.“
“My friend and I were starving and were going to settle for some mediocre fast food. Chickn n Waffle was right next to us, so we decided to give it a shot. The expectations were low because the building looked outdated and was right next to a weak dispensary. Upon looking it up on google, I was surprised to see it had 4.7 stars! Could it be a stoners paradise? Or could the food really that good? We ordered boneless chicken wings with the Asian chili sauce. The young lady taking our order was as sweet as a belle and had us pull aside for our wings to be freshly fried. A nice gentleman brought out our order with a smile and we unveiled the contents of the takeout container in the parking lot, only to be pleasantly surprised with the portion size and shiny glaze on the inside wings with sesame seeds and thick crispy fries. We tried a fry first and it was crunchy on the outside and a pillow on the inside. Immediately taken back with how perfect the fries were. One dunk into the ranch with a boneless wing, it headed straight for me mouth. Jesus must’ve been in that kitchen, because that was the juiciest, freshest, perfectly seasoned, most amazing chicken wing I’ve ever had. I will come here again. Enjoy. Yes, I forgot a photo because I was enticed by the food and forgot.“
“Top five favorite places to eat in Kansas City.Every detail from the front counter to the bathrooms was thought out and fits their vibe.Food is cooked on an open fire which is very unique. All breads are baked in house. The staff is beyond nice and the table markers are old license plates. How cute!“
“I've been here a few times and it's always enjoyable. They had a pretty impressive live musician playing. The wait staff despite being very busy were still very friendly and attentive. The menu is fairly small but the quality is excellent for every dish I've tried. The cocktails are unique and delicious. If you're looking for a fun dining experience, I recommend dropping by Murphy's Corner.“
“If I could give it 10 stars I would! This is a family owned business, you get that feel as you walk in the door. The staff goes above & beyond. For those that want good home cooked food just give it a try and you will be hooked! There really isn’t too many places out there like this place anymore. I love love love the sweet iced tea and of course our waitress Kenna!Kid-friendliness: Kenna is just a big kid herself so of course there is gonna be kid friendliness up in there!“
“Matthew took great care of watching out for food allergies and offering suggestions on meals. The Edame Guacamole dip on gluten-free pita bread a grwat starter. Steak salad was tasty and rare just right with meat on the tough side which was surprising as it looked perfect. The pot roast dip sandwich was very good. A great date night was had. Thank you.Vegetarian options: Several choices we'll marked and your server will be happy to point you to good options.Dietary restrictions: Gluten, pork, almonds, mango, dairy and chocolate. Still plenty to choose from or options to make a dish safe for you.Parking: Street parking full and was able to park in free parking garage right next door. Plenty of lighting and felt safe.“
“Very neat dive bar and a very good Bloody Mary. Stopped in on a Sunday and the crowd was a mix. Felt like the place had a kind of people they prefer and we didn't necessarily fit in. I'd try again just to see if it was an off day but...“
“Everything here is incredibly delicious. Their cinnamon rolls are a perfect texture and have a great amount of cinnamon and glaze. Their breakfast sandwich (I get it with bacon) is on one of their super soft, perfect rolls. Their biscuits and gravy is amazing. Maybe my favorite place for breakfast right now.“
“If you need a place to impress someone, have a date night, or just a cozy comforting meal, Antler Room is THE place. Every dish is a slice of heaven, and the homemade pasta is to die for. The staff and atmosphere are always warm and inviting. GO... any chance you get!“
“The food is great! They change the drinks, and mocktails are delicious! Great for a lite bite or full meal. The only thing I would change is that they currently only have 1 vegetarian meal. It'd be nice to have 2 or 3 to pick from. But there are several salads and appetizers that work.“
“Famous chicken and waffles was like a party in my mouth! The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the waffles were fluffy and golden brown. Plus, the portion sizes were huge - I definitely left feeling satisfied. The service was friendly. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by Niecie's!“
“IMHO this is the best location in the metro area. The layout helps cut noise. Parking can be a bit tricky because of the location.Vegetarian options: Ovo-lacto vegetarians will have no problems. Vegans may find only a few options.Dietary restrictions: They're happy to make dishes just the way they're requested.Parking: Spots in front are usually full. Side lot can be iffy because of the market right across from the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: There are always crayons available; and the tables are big enough to sit a family with kids. The flooring is washable; so no worries about crumbs and spills.“
