If you want authentic Cantonese food (southern China), this place is IT. I love their shrimp wontons, peking pork chops, pot stickers, salt and pepper stuffed eggplants. Their claypot dishes are also very authentic. Always satisfied when I walk out of ABC. Also love that they give you free hot tea and unlimited rice if you need more. Definitely feel at home in this place. For Chinese people we have very limited choices in authentic food, and I'm so glad they are offering it. My only wish is that they can expand the restaurant. It's small and can be very cramped when they are busy. A fun side note. I know of another restaurant in LA Monterey park chinatown area, called ABC cafe.. also serving Cantonese style food. I wonder if they "copied" their name from them. But I would say that this ABC is probably a lot better than that ABC cafe in LA. The LA one is known to be cheap... but questionable quality. This KC ABC is heads and shoulders above that one.

I seriously don't get the cult following that this place has. Reddit and Yelp love this place, yet I've gone twice with just average Chinese takeout quality.

My favorite hole in a wall place, they specialize in Taiwanese food. My favorite dishes are: salt and pepper pork, salt and pepper shrimp, stir fried ong choy (water spinach), Singapore noodles, and they offer dim sum all day!!

Went in with one other for dine in. We had a short wait in which we sat in the car and they called us when we were ready. Overall very short wait. The space is crowded but doesn’t feel overly loud. The food was amazing and we loved every dish we tried. Our server was fantastic and the pricing is unbeatable. Can’t wait to visit again.Vegetarian options: Ingredients are clearly labeled with what is in them as far as meat.Parking: There is a parking lot the small strip mall area shares.

Sorry no pics we were hungry. Dim sum was great, as was the shrimp stuffed salt and pepper eggplant. Not the typical Chinese restaurant, in a very good way. We'll be back. And post pics. Think Chinese diner (Cafe).

The BEST experience tonight! This place is incredible, the food is phenomenal and seasoned perfectly. The staff are all attentive and so kind. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night or even a family, and the owners are so personable and caring. 10/10 best dinning experience in Kansas City. Highly recommend!

Got to try a lot but have a LOT more of the menu to go back for! The space is a bit small (and you may want to plug your nose going to the ladies room), but I liked what we tried.

Excellent food, prompt service, and a clean restaurant. It's very no-frills that focuses on serving fresh, tasty food.We had cucumber salad, green beans, steamed pork dumpling, xiao long bao, curry beef puffs, scallion pancake, and egg custards. Everything was delicious and my only regret was that I got full.

Great place for authentic Hong Kong style food. Any dish Salt and Pepper, XO dishes are excellent. The important part of the flavor is the wok seasoning ( wok hay). The XO wings are to die for. I've known and have been coming here since they opened years ago.

Best siomai I've had in a long time, and this is coming from a NYC transplant who frequented many Chinatown dimsum restaurants. While they don't have the beloved dimsum carts, dimsum menu was excellent and items came in the same waves you would expect from the carts. Xiao long bao (soup dumplings) had perfect thickness of dumpling wrapper and had enough soup inside. Had the quietest lunch in a long time since my kids were busy eating, it was so good. Will definitely be back.

Interesting location. You're very close to the table next to you or perhaps you're sitting at a table with folks you don't know. I don't find this off putting and the food is SO GOOD. I kept thinking "oh this is my favorite" everyone something came. Which is a great feeling when you go to a new place to eat!

This place is known to be more authentic than your average Chinese around here. They offer an extensive menu that you will likely find something you enjoy from here. I tried the shrimp fried rice, beef shank pancake wrap, and the salt and pepper soft shell crab. The fried rice is good, but was definitely lacking salt, which was an easy fix. It was not too oily as well. The soft shell crab was pretty good, but I wish the breading was a little more crispy. The added cabbage with the fresh jalepeno is definitely needed to make the dish more light as the breading could be considered pretty heavy alone. My favorite thing to try was the beef shank pancake wrap, which reminds me of beef pho all wrapped up in a nicely fried pancake wrap. On the inside is beef shank, hoisin sauce, and cilantro, making this a great accompaniment to any main dish. This was not my first visit here, but my favorite dish I have had from here was the beef chow fun. I wanted to try something different this time, but I wish I would have gotten it again. It is one of their more popular dishes out of their many, and I recommend trying it if you have not! No complaints on the service. The place is pretty small and I would likely just order takeout from here rather than dine in, but do not mistake this place for your typical fast food American Chinese. The food is much better!
