So saddened to hear our regular go-to Asian restaurant is closing. It is a great family run business, which unfortunately are fewer due to the last few years of hardships. Wishing everyone at Kokia the best on their future journey! My family will miss your cuisine. A 5 star review of Kokia Restaurant by M C.:

Service is usually good but this time it was awful. We came in 45 min to close and wanted to eat fast. Waitress told us no one was available to serve sake.

On a scale to 10 would give it a 6. The Harpoon is tastier. Service was good and staff well trained. Food just lacked any marked flavor pizazz.

What a lovely, relaxing little restaurant! The food is GOOD and beautifully appointed. The space is tasteful and quiet, without the distractions of TVs, the service is quick and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

This place is one of my favorite sushi spots in KC! All of the sushi is super fresh and well made. It's also the best price in town for good sushi. I have to say the crab Rangoon appetizer is my absolute favorite I've ever tried. Their filet mignon roll is also delicious. Staff is also super friendly and I've never had to wait to be seated!

Kokia is my absolute go-to sushi stop in Overland Park. Super affordable (most rolls are between $6-$9), amazing quality nigiri for the price, and super nice and accommodating staff. Last night they were Togo only- I called and asked if they could please make an accommodation for 11. We said we would tip well. They made an exception. Boy we're we pleased!! Love Kokia and the owners!!

The transition from 'carry-out only' to offering dine-in service has created an awkward experience. There is a limited amount of tables, five to seven at max; tap water isn't available. Instead, customers must purchase bottled water amongst various other drink options. However, the sushi and service are pretty good and reasonably priced. Their Phoenix Roll tasted fresh with some mild heat. The experience is nothing to call home about, but it seems to be a reliable sushi option in Southern Overland Park.

We really enjoy their sushi. Some of our favorites are: New York Ginza Phoenix KoKia Sweet Potato Angry Dragon. We stop on weekly to pick up the half price sushi.

Kokia is always wonderful! They are prompt if not early on takeout orders, kind and helpful, and every order I've had was perfect. The sushi is wonderful -- special favorites are filet mignon roll and pink lady. Always happy to pick up dinner here!

I've been going here for a couple years and have never left disappointed! I'm not much of a fishy-fish eater and the food here is always fresh and appetizing. I got takeout (takeout only right now) again tonight and it was perfection. My order was ready on time and I was greeted when I entered. I got edamame, KU roll, Manhattan roll, and smaller California roll. Plenty for dinner for 2 people and including tip about $30. Great value! 5/5 would recommend.

Went there on Friday night. All the rolls were half price. Tasted great!
