I typically like to mix it up and get something I haven't had before or haven't had recently. But I went with Butter Chicken, medium spice level, and garlic naan. I am so glad I did. They were wonderful. The lunch serving size was adequate for two people. An order of garlic naan was 2 full pieces cut in half, making 4 good sized pieces. The spice level was perfect. At many places, it's difficult to tell garlic naan from regular naan. That is not the case at Spice n Rice. Plenty of garlic on these. I decided to eat the entire meal instead of taking half home, as it was so good, but in the future, one plate of food is plenty for two people, especially when purchasing naan in addition.Service was very quick and friendly. On the negative side, the waitress was so attentive that it seemed she was watching me eat. I would suggest that they try to strike a balance between attentive and watching too closely.

I was very disappointed with the butter chicken . The sauce was supery runny like soup ! The owner did try to offer me some fish , but too spicy for my taste. The tri seafood cake was sort of bland. Not very flavorful . The only thing I can say was good was the Mango Lassi. I will not return.

Went there for evening iftar buffet and enjoyed the fresh food and the flavor. We have been pleased to find the dishes very light. Loved the gravy of the butter chicken. Will surely will come back.

"I recently did take out at a restaurant spice and rice in Overland Park and tried their goat curry and garlic cheese naan. The goat curry was rich and flavorful, with tender pieces of meat in a well-spiced sauce. The garlic cheese naan was the perfect accompaniment, freshly made and packed with flavor. The combination of the two dishes was truly delicious and left me wanting more. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was pleasant. I would highly recommend trying these dishes if you're in the area!"

I am a repeat customer at spice n rice in Overland Park and their food is usually very good. Unfortunately when we ordered food last night 3/1/24, we found a hair in one of our 3 purchases (fish and chips, garlic naan, and shrimp tikka masala) which was our shrimp tika masala and by the time we got home to eat they had already closed so we called after opening the next day. I simply asked for a refund for only my shrimp tika masla and I had to call, get a call back, only be offered another meal which I did not want seeing how I just found hair in my food. After repeatedly trying to get me to order something else and I said I did not want anything else just a refund for the tikka masala, they said they’d ask and call back and never did so I decided to stop by with the remaining food with the hair in it and even photos with time stamps of when I found the hair and everything and ask for my refund. I am writing this review right after my interaction at the establishment today (3/2/24 at 2:00pm, it is now 2:26)I was again asked if I wanted something else from the menu and I said no, then I had to have the same conversation with two more people and explain I’d just like a refund for the one item. A man who I assume is either the or one of the managers came up and said and I quote “How do we know that you didn’t put that there”.. yes, he repeatedly accused me of putting hair in my own food… for a refund. He then proceeds to say he’s done business here for 9 years and never had that issue and I said and I’m a repeat customer and never had that issue either but last night I did and I am just asking for a refund for the item I found the hair in. After insulting me I was able to get my refund, after jumping through countless hoops and hurdles with management/workers.It was very disrespectful and HIGHLY unprofessional and I am quite frankly very disappointed as I typically recommend Spice n Rice to friends who’d like to try authentic Indian cuisine. I will no longer be a customer and will no longer refer.

It's unfortunate to say that this Indian restaurant deserves a zero-star rating for its food. Every item on the menu was disappointing, with not a single dish worth recommending. It's safe to label this establishment as the least enjoyable Indian restaurant in Overland Park. Our dining experience was nothing short of a nightmare, as my friends and I struggled to even stomach what was served to us, leaving nearly every dish untouched on the table.

I have had mixed results, nothing bad, just trying different things, some are great while others miss. Despite other reviews mentioning this I decided to try the chicken tika masala, spice level mild. Other folks posting are definitely right. It tastes like a creamy tomato sauce with no seasoning. The lamb kabob is a bit spicey, and sometimes has far too much breading. The chicken samosas are fantastic. The takeout side is kind of funny, with walls blocking your view of the kitcen and anywhere else. There's just enough space for a smiling guy to poke his head out when the door dings. He's really nice, but it's just a comical experience to pick up food.

The food and service was fantastic. I had the chicken tiki masala and Nan. Give it a try!
