We also enjoyed an appetizer w/$8 off for their "8th Anniversary Special" - we got the BBQ wontons - definitely would recommend. But I also saw the appetizer for onion straws - it was stacked about 6 inches high with onion straws across the 12 inch appetizer plate - it was HUGE to say the least & I was sad we didn't get that too after seeing it :) Kye was great! “Upon seeking a venue for a casual meal and a game of darts, a friend and I stumbled upon Knub’s Pub through a Google search, enticed by an older photo showcasing a dartboard. Despite discovering the board had been removed several years prior, we decided to give the place a try, drawn in by its collection of pinball machines. The staff exuded warmth and hospitality, adding to the establishment's cozy, hometown pub ambiance. While awaiting our table, we indulged in some classic pinball entertainment. The interior boasted predominantly booth-style seating, each equipped with its own TV and satellite box, fostering a personalized experience. We made plans to return for fight nights and Chiefs games, impressed by the atmosphere. Our meals, a Philly sandwich and a Beef’N Tater sandwich with fries, were served with the expected attention to detail, complementing the pub's vibe. Accompanied by their house-made steak and BBQ sauces, which were delightful additions, our dining experience was thoroughly satisfying. Of course, a well-stocked bar featuring a variety of domestic and craft beers on tap further enhanced our evening. As we settled our bills, we had the pleasure of meeting Cory, one of the owner operators, whose amiable demeanor left a lasting impression. “THE BEST BREAKFAST EXPERIENCE! My husband and I found this place last year on February while at in KC for a conference. He decided to surprise me for my birthday with a day trip to KC (we live in Nebraska). His first stop was McLains and again, It. Did. Not. Disappoint. Already planning a trip to come back!! The owner was lovely to chat to (100% should branch out to Nebraska ?) Plus, our dogs were welcomed on the patio and even given peanut butter cookie crumbles for a dog treat.Vegetarian options: My plan is to have their veggie wrap next!! “It is a great but also basic breakfast place, it is a little harder if you are trying to eat healthy at all though. I went with a ham steak, but it was very greasy. Service was great and quick. They were able to hold our reservation for about 10 minutes also.“

“Great place to watch the game! Not a huge space but nice atmosphere and *plenty* of TVs if you’re looking for that. We both liked the food. I really enjoyed the jalapeño cheddar grits. This place seems to put more effort into theirs than many places do. The chicken quesadilla is good as well. Nothing special about the chicken itself but the red onion marmalade has a nice flavor and I think the flavor of the salsa was my favorite part. Good drink specials/selection and friendly service, this may be our new go-to sports bar.“

“Jake's place is a fun neighborhood hangout. I have only ever had the appetizers, but they are all great and also a little different than what you would typically see at a bar, i.e. traditional eggrolls. The service is fast and the drinks are cheap. This isa go to place for an after work hangout!“

“Took the family here Friday evening and couldn't be more pleased with the experience. The food was scrumptious, we ordered the chicken parmesan and it just never disappoints. Second time I've been there and it definitely deserves a 5 star review. We ordered cocktails and the manager i believe who it was, cam over and dropped off a paloma coctail that was supsr delicious. The kid had pizza and that too was great. We love this restaurant!“
“We have eaten lunch here twice, pretty close to 2 pm each time. The two sandwiches I've had (Reuben and Turkey Avocado Pesto) were delicious. Our waiter brought plenty of lemon for my iced tea, a to-go cup when I asked for one, and easily accommodated my request for no melon in my fruit cup. My husband enjoyed his Ranchero omelet. I'm looking forward to trying more items on the menu in the future.“
“We ate there Saturday afternoon and they weren't overly busy. Two of us got the shrimp platter with fries and onion rings. Unfortunately, the shrimp and hush puppies were burnt. They were so overcooked they weren't moist at all, dry as can be. The waitress forgot to bring the malt vinegar for our friends fish platter. Then she ordered a mule beer and the waitress never did return with that either. Food used to be great. Hopefully this was just a bad day. We'll give them another chance.“

Michele was our server. She is Erica's sister. We loved the friendly sibling rivalry! We are about 45 mins from this location and only stopped because we were in town. “A friend of mine recommended this place as she frequents so much, they know her by name. With that being said, I had to try! I've personally never been to the location, but I have visited a food spot next to it and it seems to be very spacious with plenty of parking especially during the day. We ordered a Buffalo chicken wrap, Buffalo ranch on the side so we could control the sauce amount as well as the spice, extra ranch on the side and a couple tator tots (clearly eaten before the photo was taken). Surprisingly for as simple as it is, the chicken had a delicious grilled flavor, lettuce super crisp, cheese delish and the Buffalo sauce had a little tanginess to it that just pulled everything together. I'd definitely come back and I look forward to trying other items on the menu!“

Lol.The general gist was that this bar is absolutely AMAZING!!!The staff, from the bar to the kitchen, were absolutely AMAZING!!!The beer and the WINGS WERE A SHOW STOPPER!!! I mean, honestly, I have never had wings more delicious than what they serve here. The BEST wings in Kansas/Kansas City Area!!!We got the Garlic Parmesan, Buffalo, and Barbecue; all Charred and Sauced. I loved how they did the menu to give you so many options to choose on how to make your wings to your liking.The environment can be a bit anxiety spiking if you are not used to that type of environment (literally just me, my boyfriend had the time of his life) but once we got settled, the anxiety started to fade and I felt protected, which I wasnt expecting.The staff (she seemed to do all the up front bar work, order taking and serving so I don't know the technical name for that but she's a BOSS in my eyes) came around, she was absolutely amazing, respectful and extremely patient while I took a minute to figure out what I wanted.Once we ordered, she brought his beer out, which was delicious! “Friday night we were 18 for dinner after a funeral. Everyone was very patient and courteous. Everyone’s food was great. The staff allowed us to sit and talk and didn’t rush us to order. “March 2024Following a show at Aztec, it made perfect sense to return here with my wife and parents. They never disappoint. Lovely atmosphere, always very friendly staff, and beautiful food. I enjoyed the lobster bisque but was especially blown away by the lobster pasta. Wandering Vine’s chef is truly creative and I greatly admire her colorful original plating.June 2023My parents enjoyed Wandering Vine so much that we were all excited to go back when they were in town over the weekend. Funny enough, we ate at the same table where we sat last time. This place certainly has a unique charm to it, with a nice atmosphere that you won't quite find anywhere else. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and our service was wonderful. I had the braised lamb shoulder pasta. It was cooked to perfection and the flavors were fantastic. The toasted pine nuts were a nice touch. The only thing I would have changed is substituting the edamame for something else. It added nice color, but it was a little too much crunch for my taste. My wife had the special, which was goat cheese cavatelli pasta with crab meat. Absolutely delicious. My dad enjoyed the filet mignon and we all enjoyed our wine flights--one of my favorite things about this restaurant. Mine included wines from Argentina, France, and Washington. We didn't save room for dessert, but we did get a taste of the gazpacho, which was very flavorful with a nice kick to it. They are rotating their menu in a few weeks, so definitely reason to return.Feb. 2023Had dinner here with my wife and parents and we LOVED it. Sometimes it can be hard to find a place that satisfies both of my parents but we all thought the food was delicious and original. The staff was extremely friendly and professional as well.
