On a recent trip to Dayton to visit friends, I came across Buck’s BBQ. This place is uniquely different from most typical barbecue restaurants. It starts with the owner, Buck Buchanan, from the sound of his voice you can tell “he is not from around here!” Mr. Buchanan, a native of South Africa, is very personable, genuine and passionate about his craft. I ordered a brisket sandwich, and ended up with a burger with jalapeno? Not sure how that happened, but I can't even be mad because it was still delicious. I should've double-checked my order before heading home, but all was good. Even the mac and cheese was great. Definitely recommend.

My fella and I decided to try Buck's tonight on a whim, what a fantastic whim!!! Angel is a fantastic hostess, server and food preparer! We both had a pulled pork sandwich and shared a side of slaw, brussel sprouts and smashed potato. The servings were hearty and boy oh boy EVERYTHING was delicious! So good in fact I was tempted to give Angel a huge hug! Definitely will be back, excellent change from the hum-drum, same old same old!!
