“I found this place online while looking for something new to try for lunch with my family on a Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised to see the simple, modern decor.We also really were impressed with the large menu selection of creative twists on classic dishes.It was a bit pricey but overall a great experience for a treat.“
“This is the best Mexican in Baton Rouge. They have the best salsa! It is a roasted salsa so less acidic, which is what I love about it. Also they have an awesome, creamy green salsa. The table side guac is great too. There's no question they have the best fajitas in Baton Rouge. The chicken is sliced thin and the flavor is just awesome. I don't usually go for steak fajitas but I do here because it's always tender rather than chewy like lots of other places. Homemade tortillas of course, and you see them being made as you walk in. Love this place and when I want good Mexican, it is always my first choice!“

“This is a great place for tacos...my friends all like their choice. I had the bowl and it was flavorful. My only knock is the price of a pitcher of margaritas....$34. I think less alcohol (they definitely packed a punch) can help reduce the price to something that starts with a "2". Other than that I would recommend them for food.“
“I truly don't have anything new to add. This food was so delicious. I ordered the birri special and two tacos before I arrived. Even with the 30-40 minutes that passed before I arrived there was another 10-15 minute wait because it was lunchtime and there were a number of orders arriving to pickup at the same time. Next time I may try and put in my order at two or something like that. I think this place is carried by the flavoring and tenderness of the various meets. I do caution that both the red and the guac/green chile sauces are spicy. Red is more smokey adobe flavored while the other is as described.“

“If I could give Jovi's 10 stars I would. For several years my family and I have been visiting Jovi's, and I have never had anything less than a stellar experience.Once Jorge learns your name and your order he will never forget you or your order! The wait staff is always super attentive and quick to refill your drinks when they get even half empty.Oh, I haven't even gotten to the food. Y'all. The tacos are absolutely amazing. Don't hesitate to ask the staff for suggestions. They will not steer you wrong! “I get take out regularly. Occasionally, I use a delivery service but mostly I call myself and order from them. Some rake pit services don't have their hours and days closed set right. The employees are always friendly, and the 1 time out of 100, my food was wrong. The manager corrected it and handled it with respect, and in a way, I would have. Also, depending on the direction you are coming from, google may tell you to pass it up and come back around. The cut across that is open goes down the side street and google doesn't realize you can get in the shopping center from the side street.“
“We go here weekly. This particular night was unusually busy so the kitchen was backed up and it took a long time for our entrees to come out but the server was good at keeping us informed and was diligent in checking on our order. Food was well worth the wait. Unruly kids were running around in the outdoor seating area with careless parents which the manager sufficiently addressed and got it under control. The prices are outrageous but we keep going!“
“I went right before 3:00p.m. ordered the three piece meal and got it to go with no drink. I had my order and out the door with in five minutes. The chicken was good (not great but good). The chicken was hot and fresh off the grill. I got the rice and charro beans. Both was hot and fresh but lacking on spice. Now as for as service the gentleman that took my order was very nice but after I got in my truck and down the road I discovered that I had no utensils for the sides and no tortillas. Altogether food would be a 8/10 service would be 5/10“

I was only able to eat about half! “I've been to both locations and glad they opened this one closer to my house. They sat us quickly, service was friendly, and kitchen was efficient. Food had the perfect temperature and taste. The best part is that the manager and owner came to check on us. Made us feel valued.“
“I saw a friend on Facebook post their tacos and just one look was all it took for me to make the drive to Azteca's. The plates are dressed in such a way that makes your mouth drool. The service was quick and friendly. The parking lot they are parked in is clean and open. Once I got home, I ripped into my box and devoured every morsel of food. It was delicious! The consomme was so flavorful and the portions were hearty and filling. I will be visiting again, soon!“

“The food was delicious. Though a bit pricey, I love their steak quesadillas. You've got to try the Burrito Loco also. They also make nice mixed drinks. The service was quicker than expected. The atmosphere is really nice. Wish I would have stayed longer to hear the band play.“
“An authentic dive attached to a grocery store/market, in a shopping center off Siegen Lane. The only thing that wasn't "5 stars" for me was the queso. I guess I'm used to the more Americanized dips--this queso was literally queso (cheese) melted and served in a sizzling fajita skillet. I didn't dislike it, but for me, it was kind of bland. Plus, you'll want to eat it as quickly as possible before it firms up and you can't dip it anymore. But, not too quickly or you will lose some taste buds. Aside from the queso, I went the Honduran route for my meal, ordering three things that I thought would be MUCH smaller since they were quite inexpensive. Having eaten my fill of chips, queso, and salsa (which had quite the kick), I was only able to finish one of the three items I ordered--the tortilla con quesillo. I also ordered a cheese pupusa and a tamal hondureño. I could have made a meal from the tamale alone. It was wrapped in a leaf and filled with pork, green peas, and I believe rice and potatoes. Everything was made fresh to order and served "surface of the sun"-hot. In addition to what I ordered (plus the queso), my daughter had a steak burrito and a barbacoa gordita. With tip, it was under $40, and we brought probably half of it home. The server was friendly. I had only been here once quite some time ago, but I hope to return soon and more often!“
“I'm not big on Me I a food, but I went here for a birthday celebration! I asked someone who worked there what they recommended. His eyes lit up as he described the trio fajitas. I took his suggestion! Boy, he was spot on! The shrimp were plump and cooked perfectly! The steak was seasoned perfectly, cooked perfectly and was so tender! The chicken and veggies were amazing! The service was spot on! I wish that I lived in Baton Rouge because I'd be eating here weekly!“
“I was in town for a quick trip. Ran across this place waiting on my flight, and I can promise I will make the trip again just to come back here. Unbelievable soup and drinks. Chips and salsa were great as well. I had the best bowl of caldo de res that I have ever had in my life. The seafood soup looks absolutely delicious.“
“My wife had the vegetable mixture of several and it was delicious. I had the Chimichangas with shrimp and to my delight was perfect, well seasoned and very good. I also had a Dos Equis beer which was the hit of our dinner. Great service and took very good care of us while we were there. We will return very soon.“
“The best Mexican restaurant in Baton Rouge. Food is amazing and the staff is super friendly. The bartender, Josh makes the best Skinny Margaritas! The manager, Abdalla is welcoming and is the best. Be sure to stop by and try the Fish Avocado Salad, Taco Salad, hamburger, burrito, or El Mario. The murals on the walls are great to look at.“
“I like this Mexican restaurant because it is clean. And they have great margaritas and food. Mr. Omar, the manager, as well as the hostess. Miss Kenzie are very accommodating as they will let you choose your table if they are not busy. Yes, it is more expensive than the other Mexican restaurants in the area. But I am willing to pay more for better food quality. I usually order the carn asada or the ribeye steak along with rice and beans. I also love their margaritas and enchiladas. I love that they use thin crispy tortilla chips with the free salsa which the salsa is OKI would maybe add some onions or cilantro to the salsa if it were my restaurant and give it a little bit more flavor and taste. “Great food! (Sorry, pics taken after several bites). Everything that came to the table was undeniably good. It is a SOUL food restaurant - Mexican is no longer on the menu. There are saver items on the menu priced at $10, which is a great feature for any budget.The menu changes daily and the hours are a bit unpredictable, but if everything lines up, you’ll get a good meal. I do wish there was menu consistency and hours consistency so I could plan my week out. We were going to go tonight, but they were closed according to Instagram.“
“Great little hole in the wall place. The front of the store is a small Hispanic grocery store and the back is the restaurant. Everything was made fresh and it was large portions for the price. The price was amazing and cheap. Customer service was great. This isn’t Tex-Mex. This is authentic Mexican cuisine. Would definitely come here again next time I’m in town!“
“Been coming here for years. Love that Summer Special. If I do go to a different Mexican restaurant in town, I always wish that I would've come to El Rio Grande instead. Even when it's busy, like it was the other night, the food is yummy like it always is, and I never feel neglected. El Rio Grande is the kind of place that you can just sit around after you eat and visit with whomever you are with. I looks like you want it too. Great place for food, beer, and friends.“
“Probably the best enchiladas verde in Baton Rouge. Nobody seemed overjoyed to see me, however, no one was unfriendly. I was served promptly, my drink refreshed and the enchiladas verdes were, well, the best. Try this restaurant! UPDATE: Was there around 12/02/2018 and the food was better than ever. “We went to Las Palmas in Central today for a quick bite to eat. We got there about 11:10 am thinking they opened at 11:00 am. Well they open at 11:30 am now. We went outside to sit on the patio to wait and the manager came outside and told us we were welcome to come inside and sit at a table and have some chips and salsa and a drink since it was so hot outside and we had kids. He went above and beyond to make us comfortable and happy!!!! 10/10 experience. And of course the food was good as always!!!!“
“The pupusas were great!! I got a bean and cheese pupusa. I also asked for it to be not excessively filled , and they did it perfectly.I also got a taco al pastor, which is marinated pork. It was pretty good!The green sauce is very spicy, but I really liked the red sauce and the stuff they put in to put on the pupusa. I think without the added sauce and cabbage stuff, the pupusa would be a bit bland for my taste. But with it, it was great and I’ll definitely come back for more!My food was ready on time, and the lady who gave it to me was great.“
