Tried this place for the first time after a co-worker recommended it to me. Ordered Da Gumbo and a side of the beer battered onion rings. Probably one if the best Sandwiches I've had. Service was fast, even though they were fairly busy. Price is also very good. Will definitely be going back.
Being that I am from the original cheese steak town (Phila) it took a while to find this place after DeAngelo's closed. I LOVE Philly Me Up! As one opened I would try it. I have never found a better steak than here! The one at LSU had the worst sandwich ever. I asked them what kind of steak they used and they would not say. I went too long not trying this place. Simple concept, very casual, but excellent at what they do. The Philly cheesesteaks are amazing! Be prepared to wait a bit during the lunch rush, but hey, just a good sign it's well loved because people line up every day to get it! I'd recommend the Cajun cheesesteak and if you're avoidant of spicy things like me get it without the jalapeños and light on the chipotle mayo. Flavor is so good and always fresh!
