Since Derek's Chang's Koto closed, this has been the place to go for decent sushi in Baton Rouge. I've tried all of the sushi restaurants locally and, while Waka House doesn't have a view of the river, it does have the best sushi in town and it is always a quiet and peaceful place to eat. If you want to eat real sushi, eat it here, it's the best sushi in Baton Rouge. Such a nice peaceful restaurant to visit every time.
This is my favorite sushi in Baton Rouge! It doesn't have the glitz and glamour of, say, Tsunami's downtown. It's a small establishment in a strip that even has another sushi restaurant (s/o to Tiger Sushi's bento box special) in it. The helpings of non sushi items are large, and the sushi rolls themselves are on the large side too. There's traditional rolls alongside more creative ones, and the best selection of vegetable rolls I've ever seen- no need to order 3 avocado rolls...read full review
