They are not as good as they used to be. Half of the aisle signs were gone and it was hard to find things. The Cashier was the Star of our visit. He is a student at Fletcher Technical College, we're my oldest son works as the Maintenance man for many years. He did sign me up for a customer rewards card. It did save me some money. You know, I am all about customer rewards and savings. Lol They have a HUGE liquor section in the store. But overall the store was okay.

Got the salted caramel king cake today and it was a waste of money. It was so sweet I couldn’t even eat it. I’ve never tasted something so sweet in my life. There was nothing salted caramel about it either.

They carry Popcorn Rice and I stop there on my trips in from Texas. And the staff is always so nice and helpful!

Love their seafood gumbo! Plate lunches of fish w/ white beans & rice, or jambalaya, crawfish pie, shrimp bouillettes, and white beans are good also.

Disappointed in Curbside service. had my order placed for hours and scheduled for certain time. Happened to be raining so I was told to move under the awning and then told by a manager I needed to move for other customers after waiting 45 minutes for an order that they weren't even done shopping. No thanks, I'll stick to Rouses where all customers are treated the same.

Needed King Cakes for a Mardi Gras party and Cannata's delivered big time! The cakes came fast and fresh with fun NOLA decorations including beads. I just had to open and serve. They were so tasty I sent cakes to business associates and friends as birthday cakes. The price is far lower than anything else I found on the web. So delicious! The snickerdoodle gooey butter was the crowd favorite.

I’ve had king cakes from Cannata’s shipped to me for the past 4 years. They have all been delicious and fresh tasting. Our entire family loves them. The rougagooey has been our favorite so far!

When I'm in Houma my go to grocery is Rouse's but when I was in the area a few weeks ago I passed by Cannata's and had to stop in. Before Rouse's existed Cannata's was where everyone went. I had been here many times with my Grandma and in fact one of my first jobs was here. I was so happy to see they are still going strong and if I was expecting a trip down memory lane I was a little disappointed since it has changed so much. It's sleek and modern and the bakery (where I worked slinging out cakes and king cakes) has been completely overhauled. There's even a plate lunch line now and a little cafe for you to sit and enjoy your meal. Rouse's might be king in Houma but Cannata's has been there longer and they are still holding their own. Go show the little grocery store that could lots of love!

I lived in New Orleans when I was little and had been craving a king cake for years. I ordered one from here and it arrived in two days by fedex. The cake was a bit messy but besides being huge the taste is exactly how I remembered it. I ordered a Bavarian almond filling and I can taste the almonds but it does not overwhelm the colored sugar and icing which is what I remembered it to be. The price of it now is $39.99 with free delivery or delivery included which is the cheapest you can find. I will be ordering more king cakes from now on, they have about 60 different type of fillings and I'm gonna try some of them, not all, but some, lol. Thank you guys, you brought me wonderful childhood memories.

I wish I could give a zero star review. I took a chance on ordering from this bakery, rather than where I normally order, just because the price was a couple of dollars less. What a mistake. I got the cake on the promised time (2 days from order, delivered on Thursday) but what a huge mess. They did not package it securely, so all of the frosting and sugar is all over the inside of the package and all over the saran wrap on the top of the box. The cake itself is broken in several pieces, and all smashed together. You can tell that the cake slid around inside the box during transport. I emailed them on Thursday night, understanding that they were closed and wouldn't be open until the next morning, and hoping they would do the right thing and get another cake into Fed X Sat. early delivery so my Mardi Gras party on Saturday night wouldn't be ruined. When I got no response, I emailed them again and told them I was disputing my charge. Crickets. Never heard a word. Horrible customer service, horrible mess, ruining my party...

One of my coworkers received a king cake last week and placed it out in the break room. After having one the day before from another company that was pretty good, I was excited to try this one. Especially since this one had a filling - apple cinnamon pecan. I was expecting a gooey cake, but it was only just okay to me, not much of a filling - definitely couldn't tell that it was apple - like chunks of apple were not there. Pecans were a hit or miss. The actual flavor of the cake was had the cheap taste to me, kind of like a grocery store cinnamon roll flavor to me. Was a disappointment and easy to walk away from this treat left in the break room compared to others.
