Beer was great. Shirt looks cool. Food was awful. Got the fried chicken sandwich which was so thinly sliced like deli meat and over cooked. Only tasted the breading and chewed it like you would jerky. The kale slaw tastes like bad sea food.The fried catfish was okay, but only with the tartar sauce. The shrimp tasted rotten.Go for the beer and the beautiful set up they have.The chef needs take off his white chef coat and logistically rethink where he gets his food before he puts it back on. The menu is nothing to be proud of

Having a short getaway in Lake Charles during the Thanksgiving week. Came here on Tuesday night based on the good review at Google as I always love to explore local brewery. Unfortunately my experience was not pleasant to be consistent with the vibe there.I had a flight of 4 which is good and I would give a 5-star.However I’d give 1-star for services - I ordered my food around 5:40pm when it was not “rush hour” yet. I waited for half hour and didn’t see mine ready while others after me got theirs delivered. I asked and they told me it was messed up. The “loaded fry” was ready but had gone tepid. The pizza finally came in after 1 hour. If I had known this before I’d rather suck down the beer alone ?Though this might be one-time instance I have to honestly share my feedback. After all the beer is still worth the visit and that is what a brewery all about.

So, here's what doesn't match: The food against the beer. The beer had some nice flavors and was creative but I could buy generic pizza from the frozen section at Walmart and have it taste the same as the same. Not sure what cheese puffs were but anything but appealing. The ambiance was great...great decorum but the food missed the mark.

Every town has a few places that really define it.Crying eagle is one of those places.The staff is friendly, the food is great, the beer variety shows they're trying to be creative.Consistently hit it out of the park, a true representation of the best of lake charles.
