Not great, not terrible. I ordered sushi and hibachi. The sushi was ok. I ordered to go and it was packed in the same bag as the hot plate so it was warm by the time I got home and warm sushi is not the best. The serving size of the hibachi was smaller than expected. I ordered the steak medium and it was well done at the very least. Shrimp was also over cooked. The miso soup was good and I enjoyed the rice. This place has the best sushi I've found in lake Charles so far and I've been to most places. For some reason this place is overlooked by most people. It's always empty, Friday's at 6pm might have 4 or 5 tables. Portions are always generous and the food is always good. Service is friendly and quick. I dont understand why it's not more busy but better for me I guess.

I've visited this little spot in the mall several times. There are relatively few reasons for me to even visit Prien Lake Mall, but Ichiban is always a stop when I do. Fantastic sauces and ginger.
