I finally found a Chinese restaurant that serves Mandarin Chicken, like the dish served in New Orleans Chinese restaurants with the brown sauce. It was delicious! I would ask for extra sauce on it next time. We also had the egg roll, which is hand made every day, egg drop soup, and combination fried rice, and everything was fabulous. I visit my family in Lake Charles often, but we are originally from New Orleans, and Mandarin Chicken is the one Chinese dish I've been missing the most. I am glad we found this place.

This place is delicious. I’ve lived in the area for 60 years and had never eaten at Peking Garden. I will be back! The best egg rolls ever! The food is cooked to order and fresh!!! No buffet!!!! Great atmosphere and staff.

I looked up "best Chinese restaurant in Lake Charles LA"; Peking Garden came up online & reviewed to have "the best eggrolls". We ordered their large group takeout comparable to catering service. They provided everything, even ice. When we picked up our order, the friendly chef rolled our pans of food out to our car and helped us load it. The food was delicious and I have to agree that they do have the best egg rolls, as one of my guests nicknamed them "Chinese burritos" due to their large size.

Today was an amazing experience. We had the broccoli beef and mandarin chicken with egg drop soup and egg roll. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great!! I recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Hunan cuisine.

The Peking Garden is a wonderful locally owned old-school Chinese Restaurant. It's conveniently located on Broad Street near its junction with US Hwy 171. This is very close to the Interstates so it's convenient for travelers as well. Upon walking in, the depth of decor takes your attention. There are cut wooden screens, hanging lanterns, foo lions, and more. It's all very amazing! The dining area is divided into different rooms and all are softly lit and comfortable. The servers will then begin your meal experience. I was here for lunch, and my combination lunch special came in three separate courses. First came a large plump egg-roll which was one of the best I've had in years. Next came my choice of soup. I had Hot & Sour, which was clearly house-made and delightfully tangy. Then my combination entree was served, which included Sweet & Sour Shrimp and Moo Goo Gai Pan, with steamed rice. Both dishes were beautifully prepared, and a sight to behold. The veggies were perfectly crisp-tender and the sauces were succulent. This whole experience was very reasonably priced at $12.95. Great food, great service, and at a great price. What more can one ask from lunch?

The food was beyond good, but the waitresses were extremely rude. They rolled their eyes at us anytime we asked for something, forced us to order separately, accused us of stealing egg rolls we ordered, and never brought my drink out. When it was time to pay the cashier told us to hurry up, but didn’t listen when I told her I never got my drink and charged me. When I told her I wanted a refund, she was extremely rude and threw the money at me. I’m usually a pretty chill guy when it comes to bad customer service, but this place was so bad. I won’t be coming back.
