“Lundigras day . They were getting slammed but were polite and honest about wait times for food . I had a beer and the wait time was only 45 minutes. “I finally decided to stop in and try the food here. The sign out front made me curious. What exactly is eggplant gravy? Smoking area in a covered area in front of the bar. This is exactly the kind of place I would frequent when I was drinking. A kind of hole in the wall place with working class clientele. I didn't work up the nerve to ask about the eggplant gravy. I did order the bacon cheeseburger, fully dressed and fries. It was pretty darn good. Friendly employees. There are gambling machines, a dartboard, one of those claw machines, a shuffleboard. There were several televisions on and all playing different sports balls games. The parking lot is kind of tricky. If you park in front, the only way out is via Causeway just south of Veterans where the traffic is all together to filter back on Causeway, or the service road and I-10. So be aware of your surroundings.“
“Not a drinker, but I came here bc of a recommendation for another local business to try their burgers. Got their regular cheeseburger and some fries. The hamburger was seasoned to perfection and the fries are just the right crinkle fries. Not too soft and not hard. The employees were very nice and got my order out quick. I did see a bunch of people that came for drinks and to hangout so I can imagine people like coming for the atmosphere. Come check it out.“
“I've been to loft 18 multiple times before, but when I started coming to Trivia Wednesdays I found a reason to return every Wednesday. I had the most wonderful waitress I've ever had wait on me at any bar or restaurant in my entire life. Her name is Angelle and she deserves a raise. She remembers my drink orders and gives the most amazing entree recommendations. Anytime my drink gets close to being empty there she is asking if I'd like another. When i finish my food she is right there ready to clear my table to make room for trivia sheets. Angelle is perfection in waitress form!!! I may come for Trivia, but I return every week because of your wonderful employee Angelle!!!“

“I feel that I'm a regular customer here , it's a fun place to go with very good food , I recommend the boudin balls , red beans and the lemon baken chicken breast . my favorite bartender is Lauren, always great to see her , she treats the customers great and knows what she is doing having been there for a while now . they have plenty of well lit parking with people always coming and going .inside they have a nice bar with plenty of seating ,and you can even get your own beer at your table yourself , by the way walk ons in my opinion has the coldest beer you'll find . the waitresses are nice and they will do a song for you, or a friend for their birthday which is very nice and fun . prices are very reasonable and and I like the local atmosphere and plates they have . you can't go wrong here for a good time and great food“

“My friend and I have lunch two or three times a month and I randomly pick a place so we are always trying something new. We had decided on going to the mall so wanted to eat lunch first. “All the food is great and fresh. The only thing I miss is at the original Swamp Room they served fresh larger grated cheddar cheese. The cheddar they have now is finely grated and doesn't taste the same, it did make for a different better taste. Other then that I would've given 5 stars on the food. “Me and my wife went here for vday. She had the lobster and I had a catfish platter. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. Very laid back. The drinks had way to much ice in them and nowhere close to enough tequila. Also the bathroom is in the back of the building. Doesn't seem safe for a lady to be walking back there at night to use the restroom. But I would definitely recommend going. Lots of tvs for sports as well.“

“Friends told me about this place so I stopped by for lunch. Background: The name comes from the fact this area was once the location of pig farms. The owners have a second place in Mid City that another guest at Hog's Alley told me has great food, too. The menu is sort of small but very diverse. I had the fried shrimp basket and I'm a bit of a snob on fried shrimp. These were delicious. Excellent batter, tasty, and no iodine flavor at all. The jalapeno hush puppies were equally excellent. Fries were good but I can do without fries. Jaimie the bartender/server was friendly and very helpful. Not many people at 1 on Sunday but that didn't bother me. I'll go back.“

“I was on a short 10days visit to New Orleans and came here twice during my visit . This place is a classic. My last time here was in 2018 and the quality still remains as the owners are hands on in this business .Loved their catfish and oyster po boys, gumbo and crawfish etouffee . The bread was so soft and the fillings were all delicious . I took a half size and had it once with cole slaw and another time with salad . The crawfish etouffee was topped with catfish and equally delicious. If you want great New Orleans food do come by . You won't be disappointed !“

They were a little stingy on the celery (we asked four times... first they brought us five mini-sticks, then four, then four, and they ignored the last request). Good atmosphere, more like a sports bar, with lots of TV's playing different shows. Nice waitresses but none of them were visibly outgoing, rather quiet (Jennifer Aniston, Office Space, Chochky's... lacking 'flair' etc. [lol]).“
