I got the Chicken Katsu Banh Mi. I asked for the hoisin sauce to go along, but after taking the first bite without sauce, I saw that it didn't need the sauce at all. It was great without it. This sandwich is topped with Tokatsu sauce, Japanese kewpie mayo, and Furikake seasoning. These are Japanese ingredients, so this is a Vietnamese sandwich version of a Japanese dish. A Japanese Banhi MI in a way. And it was really good. The fried chicken on this sandwich is just as any Japanese fried chicken I've had before. I really recommend this sandwich and I very much look forward to taking another visit to Banh Mi Boys, because if this sandwich was that tasty, then I am sure the others have a lot to offer as well. Please enjoy!

The Banh Mi Boys location on Airline is a very unassuming little shop in the same lot of a gas station. When it's busy, I'm sure they can quickly run out of parking space, but the gas station allows you to park in front of it as well. It's a casual eatery. You order up front and pay initially, then they will bring you the food once it's ready. They have outside seating, so you can enjoy the weather if it's nice out. I had a grilled chicken with noodles. The chicken was cooked perfectly, but I found everything to be kind of bland. The chicken was juicy and tender, but it could have been seasoned better, and the vermicelli rice noodles were not seasoned at all. The pickled vegetables were also bland. The meal came with a sauce, but it hardly added any flavor at all. I had to add hoisin sauce to the whole thing to give things some flavor. What I tried was okay. I've heard that their other items are better than their rice/noodle plates (I heard this after I ate, so too late for me haha). If you try Banh Mi Boys, I would try their other items! Even though the portions were generous, I probably wouldn't order their noodles or rice again.

I get the braised pork belly, the bang bang shrimp, the roast beef debris fries, the regular fries, and all of the noodles bowls. It is all fantastic. The taste is right there. Perfect.

Stopped here for a quick dinner sandwich on our annual camping trip through the South. I highly recommend the Honey Sriracha Shrimp banh mi. My original review was from four years ago.>>Terrific grilled pork banh mi. Got it on my way to the airport, was soooo glad I didn't have to eat an overpriced sandwich from Sub---!

If we could give this place more than 5 stars, we would. The food is insanely good- sandwiches, salads, rice or noodles dishes. The service is excellent. Also, if you go during Mardi Gras season, the king cake bread pudding is out of this world. One of the best desserts you will taste in this city. Don't let the location by the gas station stop you- it's well worth a visit!

Wow! Very glad we tried this restaurant during a recent trip to Metairie. Spectacular food and service. Ample seating outside under warm space heaters. Food was hot and fresh. Many menu items in addition to both Vietnamese and traditional New Orleans style Po-Boys. Me, my wife, and very picky 9 year old absolutely loved the food. Extremely kind and caring employees. We will definitely be back.

Swing and a hit! Maybe a "triple". Bread is spot on. Ingredients fresh and tasty. For a walkup joint next to a gas station as good as it gets. If you are hungry and just want a good poorboy. This is a good place to frequent.

Pricey but it's pretty good. I've had the same bread and fried shrimp much cheaper and very competitive.
