Everything about this place was amazing from the food to the atmosphere to the staff. We were first greeted at the door by the owner who was very welcoming and accommodated us accordingly. Our server Laurie was awesome and was on time and punctual with all of our dishes. We started with the oysters and they were amazing. Being a fan of seafood and oysters I was extremely happy with my dish. We then moved on to our entrees witch were the chicken picatta and the gamberi Gagliano(which is named after the chef and his family) both were exquisite and meticulously made where all of the flavors came together. And lastly we had the tira misu which was homemade and was bursting with flavor. The lighting and music were perfect with a full bar and great wine selection. Everything about this place was fantastic and I highly recommend to anyone looking for great Italian in the Metairie/New Orleans area!

This place is a hidden gem. Locally owned by a neighborhood family, who are extremely nice and accommodating. Food is always fresh and delicious. Real homemade cooking. Will go back!

Food was excellent, service was very good........... Until it came time for the check. It took about as long to get the check, CC run and returned, as it took to eat our food. An aggravating end to an otherwise nice dinner....

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here! Great staff and ownership. Some of the best Italian food in the metro area!

Decent food, not quite worth the price and I wasn't even the one paying.

The food was heavy, flavor was all over the place, I just wasn’t a fan.

It was Valentine's day and so the place was packed. It was also rather chilly outside, so a lot of people chose to wait for their tables near the door. Still, the service was good and the staff were very pleasant, enthusiastic and helpful. We never felt rushed although there were a lot of people waiting.I had the VITELLO SORRENTINA (Sauteed veal layered with eggplant, prosciutto and mozzarella cheese served with pasta marinara). My lady had the frutti di mare (her first time) and she enjoyed it very much. Dessert was Angelo Brocato's spumone (which speaks for itself) and a wonderful tiramisu which was very light and tasty.A very good meal and experience on a busy night. Can't wait to return on a normal evening.

Way overpriced for what you get. Very limited menu on Valentine's Day. Pretty much forced to pick an item not really wanting for a price that was not worth it. Server rushed us the whole time. Got our entree not even halfway through our salad. Not a good experience for over $200 for 2 people.

This was our second time at this restaurant, and I don't feel a need to go back. It was Valentine's Day, but it was extremely crowded and the tables are very close together. The food looks good, but it is overall mediocre.

I always get the eggplant parm and it's usually crispy and delicious, last night it was a little soggy and the portion of eggplant was small. It still tasted good, just not the normal.

It's been a few years since we've been to Filippo's. My husband is not Sicilian and struggles to find the Italian food he had growing up. We went to Filippo's a few years back and my husband probably didn't order the right thing. He needs to stay away from red sauce in New Orleans, it's not northern Italian red sauce. We had the veal piccata and it was excellent. We shared the dish which I wish we hadn't because the veal was so good. We will be back to this restaurant much sooner next time.

First time there. Food was delicious. I had the veal sorrentino and my friend had the spaghetti and meatballs. We sat upstairs which was ok but think next time I'll request downstairs. Looks to have a bit more ambiance. Our server was quite busy but kept our wine glasses full. Overall a nice evening and look forward to returning soon.

My meal was good but one of the guests requested a different pasta than what was listed for the meal which most restaurants would accommodate & was denied because the chef said no. For me service, ambience & food are how I consider an enjoyable evening in that order. Grade it a C because the code of success in the business which should always be the customer is priority was violated early in the meal
