We had quite a few fantastic po'boys on this trip to New Orleans, but the barbecue shrimp with blue cheese at Avery's was phenomenal. The blackened catfish was the definition of comfort food! And don't miss their onion rings, and if you have room, I'd add the fried pickles. Definitely not a tourist spot, but a very easy walk from the streetcar that goes up Canal.
The Pearl River was pretty tasty, but would of been even better if it was about $3 less for the 6" sandwich.. Staff was very nice. Menu looked intriguing and might be worth trying again.

Do yourself a favor and get the red beans the side is $4 or dinner sized with sausage for 10.75. I literally dream of their food. The oyster po'boys are something to write home about and the staff is the kindest by far. Don't hesitate visit.
