If you somehow are able to eat and digest crawfish shells I'd recommend it, otherwise it's best to go anywhere else for an actual New Orleans crawfish experience where they season the boil and not the outside of the shell.

We have been in New Orleans for a week now, mainly to soak in the atmosphere and sample the unique cuisine. Top of the list has been to taste the seafood, particularly the crawfish and shrimp, and we've had some beauties.Boiler house was definitely NOT one of them. We ordered a pound each to share amongst 3 of us, the headless shrimp and crawfish, one with Cajun sauce, the other with Boiler sauce which was a combo sauce of the other 3. Out come the plates to our great excitement, followed by immediate disbelief. First of all, the quantity we received, particularly of the shrimp did not in any way resemble 1 pound. The shrimp were small, overcooked and dry. The sauce was reasonable, but I can't say anything else about them was good. The crawfish, again, did not resemble 1 pound worth of seafood. Even the largest was smaller than the feast we had at the Original French Market (their crawfish boil is fabulous!) The sauce was unpleasant. A hodgepodge of tastes that didn't know what direction it was going. We had to carefully ration out the meagre portions so we could all have a taste. Our universal opinion was "horrible".In addition we had crab cakes, which on their own were OK, but then topped with Thousand Island dressing you could get from a corner store. We also had the crab Beignets. Gluey inside with no taste of crab , and again, sitting on this same sea of thousand Island dressing.Of all the many meals and restaurants we've dined in this week, this was by far the biggest disappointment, particularly as it had some good reviews and supposedly focusses on their boils.Don't waste your taste buds on this place. There are far better places doing justice to your beautiful seafood.

We made a reservation at 9 p.m. and we arrived at 8:40 where there was a line of people outside. The hostess told us that one member of party had to check in and I went inside to do so. I told them I made the reservation and she shook her head at me telling me that I had to wait until everyone that came before me was seated. Unfortunately, they couldn’t honor the timing of the reservations but it did guarantee me a seat. Waited until 10 p.m. with NO movement. If they closed at 11 p.m. how would I be so sure that they wouldn’t just cancel the waiting reservations and close? All because they were taking walk-ins. I didn’t feel like she communicated well and when I spoke to some groups, they said they still needed to seat people who were waiting since 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. It was a whole mess and disorganized on their part. Why would you accept walk-ins and honor them before reservations? Now unfortunately, they had to wait for these two-four party people individually finish before seating reservations that were made ahead of time for groups higher than seven. It was ridiculous.
Sooo good!! Our server was really nice! Recommended.

We come from AZ and there are several seafood boil locations there and we were hoping for a way better experience in NOLA.The sauce is good, we got the special. Not too salty like most sauces can get. We got the shrimp, crab and crawfish combo. Still not the ideal season for crawfish, won't blame them for that. They were small with half of them having black insides. The snow crab was small but the meat still tender and tasty.Biggest offense was shrimp. They were overcooked and dry and also on the small side. The side of rice we got was hard and small! :(Overall it did not stick out from the books we have back west but I look forward to trying it again here in LA in peak season. It was busy for a weekday afternoon. We had reservations and was seated right away. Staff was kind and prompt. Good vibes.

This broil is just delicious!!! They allowed us to customize with sauce on the side which was appreciated. Everything was steamed well and of quality. The atmosphere is small, simple & just right for getting sticky while consuming copious amounts of crab, crawfish, shrimp, corn and potatoes. They have a an extensive menu of seafood offerings and “seafood broil buckets.” Will be back soon!
