“We stopped in here on our search for some authentic gelato. We tried a few different flavors such as the stracciatella, amarena cherry, cookies black, and hazelnut. The stracciatella was a little heavy on the chocolate but it was still super smooth and tasted great. The amarena cherry and cookies black were probably my two favorite gelatos as they were very well balanced! It's nice and quaint inside and there is some additional seating outdoors too.“
“Came here with the kiddos and really enjoyed our treat! They have a lot of different options—really unique flavors & their ice cream isn’t overly sweet. I went with the junior sundae. Nice portion size, the single scoop is pretty large. Also tried the Creole Strawberry, amazingly delicious! Can get quite crowded so seating can be problematic. Staff were friendly & attentive. Love that you can sample! Will be back.“
“I thought I liked all ice cream just about equally until my friend recommended I check out Lucy Boone. The texture is PERFECTION and the flavors are incredible. If my favorite flavor (chocolate mint cookie) turns out to be only a seasonal offering, it very well may ruin my life. Also, the staff is delightful and helpful!“
“Excellent ice cream and plenty of flavors from which to choose. My favorite ice cream is rum raisin. Not many places serve this flavor these days, and it is almost impossible to find in grocery stores. Angelo Brocato has an excellent Rum Raisin.“
“The most delicious ice-cream anywhere around. We routinely order the Cookie Monster (aka cookies n cream) and couldn't be happier. What makes the Rahm Haus Cookie Monster extra cool is that it's colored blue and the blue color doesn't come from food coloring, but rather "blue spirulina phycocyanin" which is a type of blue algae. The flavor has a generous amount of cookie in it and is creamy, both of which I appreciate. The service is great too. The woman who waited on us was extremely professional, informative and otherwise friendly. The ambiance is charming. It's located in the Merchant House and the vibe is that of a trendy outside bar. We love it.“
“Very good French sweet shops! We went two times and had vallina, chocolate, mango gelato . And had one chocolate eclair and one macaroon. The quality was so good and definitely have to try it!And also want to share they offer very nice and very clean bathroom here, the waitress was very friendly.“
“This is a MUST DO if you head to NOLA. it an rainy fun place with great cocktails and the best Gelato concoctions you'll ever have.Parking: It's Siren town NOLA. your best bet is walkingKid-friendliness: Clean Music. Day time great for kids after all it's Gelato!Admittedly, as an adult in NOLA it's nice to be kid free after 7pm . SooooWheelchair accessibility: Easy entry“
“We stopped in on a Monday evening for a little something after dinner. We bought a simple vanilla waffle(not the bubble style) cone. The vanilla ice cream is pretty good, but no surprise, the waffle cone was the star. You could tell it was fresh since it was so crisp. And it was cooked to perfection! My only big issue was the music playing. It was so loud and obnoxious! They call out the orders when they're finished, but it was very hard to hear. I have no problem with some house music, but I believe it should be at a lower level to help the staff and customers communicate.“
“TL;DR - don't miss this place! Off the beaten path, but 100% worth it! Get a burger at Junior's first, then come here for a sweet treat. The waiter at Junior's recommending getting ice cream from here, and I don't turn down recommendations from locals! This is some of the best ice cream I've ever had. It's worth going off the beaten path to get here. It's small-ish inside, located in a very odd residential area. It's very clean and the line moves quickly, with kind staff working behind the counter. Add this place to your list when in NOLA!“
“We stopped by NOLA Mia right when they opened, before watching the Acro Cats at the Cabaret next door. It was a cute place, local art for sale on the walls. The service was friendly and fast. We got a total of three slices, garlic knots and two drinks for about $22. The slices were huge and flavorful as were the garlic knots. We didn't try the gelato because we didn't want to be totally miserable during the show BUT it looked REALLY good. I would definitely recommend checking out NOLA Mia's if you're in the area - they have sandwiches and salads as well - the menu has a lot of options!“
“We went to this place after seeing a tik tok about their Italian ice slushies. They’re right down the street from the fairgrounds. The atmosphere wasn’t entirely welcoming to us and parking was tough like every other good place in New Orleans but I’d go again when in the mood for delicious Italian ice slushies. Yummy!!“
“I discovered this gem of an ice cream parlor several months ago and can’t stay away. The best ice cream in the city, hands-down. Try the espresso brownie or peppermint bark and tell me I’m wrong. No need to venture up Prytania any more!!!“
“My experience at Popbar in the heart of New Orleans was a delightful foray into the world of artisanal frozen treats. This quaint establishment offers an array of popsicles with a twist – you can choose from sorbet, yogurt, or gelato bases and then personalize them with various chocolate coatings and a plethora of toppings.I decided to try the strawberry sorbetto popsicle, aiming for a refreshing and fruity treat. To add a dash of indulgence, I coated it in dark mint chocolate and topped it off with graham cookies. The strawberry sorbetto was a standout, offering a burst of fresh, tangy strawberry flavor that was both refreshing and satisfying. It was a perfect antidote to the New Orleans heat. However, the dark mint chocolate didn't quite hit the mark. While its texture was rich and complemented the sorbetto well, it lacked the minty punch I was anticipating. This was a minor disappointment in an otherwise delightful treat. The addition of graham cookies was a masterstroke, providing a crunchy contrast to the smooth sorbetto and chocolate. This mix-and-match approach to building your popsicle is what makes Popbar a unique and engaging experience.Aside from their signature popsicles, Popbar also offers other menu items, but the customizable popsicles are undoubtedly the main attraction. The ambiance of the place is cheerful and inviting, contributing to a pleasant dessert experience. In conclusion, Popbar offers a novel and enjoyable take on frozen desserts. Their concept of customizable popsicles, where you can mix and match flavors and toppings, is both fun and inventive. Even though the dark mint chocolate could use a little more mint flavor, the overall experience was delightful. Popbar is a must-try spot in New Orleans for anyone looking for a refreshing and creative dessert option.“
“Out of all the snowball places we visited while in New Orleans, this was my seven-year-old's favorite. Here's why: 1) Flavors: They have a list, but many stood out to my daughter- rainbow, blue raspberry, pink lemonade. She went for the rainbow and LOVED it. It comes with four flavors- yellow (pineapple), red (strawberry), blue (blue raspberry), and green (apple). 2) Service: The staff are friendly and even let my daughter use their private restroom. 3) Sizes: They have many cup sizes, but the kid one is perfect for all. 4) Area: Along a main road, there are plenty of cafes, restaurants, and shops nearby. 5) Space: The stand is small and there's one picnic table off to the side, but my daughter and I enjoyed ours on the nearby curb.“
“Had the dreamsicle snowball with condensed milk drizzle…OMG ?? SOOO good. Definitely coming back here. I saw a long line outside the shop when I was having dinner near across the street so figured I had to check it out. They had a TON of options and the dreamsicle was amazing“
“Mister Apple in New Orleans is a delightful gem for anyone with a sweet tooth. I recently tried their Blue Bell rainbow sherbet, and it was a fantastic treat. The sherbet itself was creamy and bursting with vibrant, fruity flavors. But the standout feature at Mister Apple is their extraordinary variety of flavored marshmallows. Each marshmallow comes in a unique flavor, offering a fun and delicious twist to the dessert. Alongside these tasty marshmallows, the store also offers a wide range of other sweets like succulent pralines, rich chocolate, fudgy brownies, and crisp cookies. The atmosphere in the store is welcoming and cheerful, complemented by a friendly and helpful staff. Whether you're a local or just passing through New Orleans, Mister Apple is a must-visit spot for an unforgettable sweet experience.“
“Amazing customer service and decadent sweets. I am on Niagara Falls and needed an Easter basket for my grandson who is in New Orleans on vacation. The hotel recommended Kilwins. I called, and they crafted an amazing Easter basket that my grandson said was his favorite ever. Staff was remarkably kind to my situation and my family said the confections were amazing. If you are in New Orleans please stop at Kilwins to experience quality in every way!“
“YUM! I wanted something sweet after walking all around the French Quarter so we googled and found this spot just a few blocks from where we were. No line, friendly lady inside, I ordered the standard hot fudge sundae (no brownie) with nuts and whipped cream and a cherry. NOM! The texture of the frozen custard was rich and creamy like I like it and the sundae was the perfect size for sharing with my husband. We enjoyed it!“
“POPSICLES is a delightful oasis that offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With its homemade popsicles and charming ambiance, this small stand has quickly become a favorite spot among locals and visitors alike. From the moment you approach the stand, you're greeted by the tantalizing aroma of freshly made popsicles, drawing you in with promises of sweet, icy treats. The stand itself is simple yet inviting, adorned with colorful decorations that evoke a sense of nostalgia and whimsy. What truly sets this little popsicle stand apart is its commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients. Each popsicle is crafted with care, using locally sourced fruits and natural sweeteners whenever possible. The result is a menu bursting with vibrant flavors, from classic favorites like strawberry mango and pineapple ( which you can make spicy with tahin) to more adventurous combinations like Cookie Monster and hazelnut fudge. Flavors change seasonally! One of the stand's greatest charms is its proximity to the park, allowing customers to enjoy their popsicles amidst the serene beauty of nature. Whether you're lounging on a bench under the shade of a tree or spreading out a picnic blanket on the grass, there's no better way to savor a popsicle than in the great outdoors. The staff is friendly and accommodating, always ready with a smile and a recommendation for their favorite flavor. ( THANKS BATMAN!) Their passion for their craft shines through in every interaction, adding to the overall warmth and charm of the experience. In conclusion, this is a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered. Whether you're a popsicle aficionado or simply looking for a sweet treat on a hot day, this charming stand is sure to delight. So next time you find yourself in the area, be sure to stop by and indulge in a little slice of frozen paradise.“
“Their Snowballs were amazing, we visited twice on our trip to New Orleans, we had traditional ones first and ended our stay with cheesecake stuffed ones, you can’t go wrong here! The guy that waited on us both times gave us recommendations on other places to check out while we were there which was super helpful. We can’t wait till our next trip down, this will be our first stop!“
“This Sno Ball place has to be the BEST in the City. ?????????????2-25-24I’ve had nearly everything on their menu. Their ICE is consistently SOFT; the food is FAVORABLY consistent. A small Family business with a big BOOM of Service. May they continue to Bless thru serving others……… ?????“
“Writing this before I’ve even tried the food, that goes to show how service goes a long way besides, just the taste.LOVE places that feels like home even when it’s new. Beautiful place. Greeted with sweetness. Had a lady sweeping up as I walked in. I love a sign of cleanliness. She took my order and took on my special request for cheese on the side like it was no botheration and made it correctly. FRESH AND HOT. She even was so catering to allow me to try my strawberry drink first to make sure it had enough strawberry. Now that’s just going the extra mile and that’s exactly why I’ll be back. Full plate and drink 10.75. Can’t beat that.10/10 experience. As I waited the other girls cleaning even made small talk with me asked me how my day was and even talked to me a little about how much I’ll like the food. Amazing energy“
“I actually buy almost daily year-rounds went open, far over 15 years before and after Hurricane Katrina, it's staff is 100% professional you always that I know of from my experience, once you go there you'll probably be another daily customer.“
“Delicious. I got half pina colada cream and half orchid cream vanilla topped with condensed milk. The woman was very sweet and also gave us free souvenir cups. She was super friendly and chatty. She kept giving us free stuff for no reason and I wished I could pay more! Highly recommend stopping by here if you have any interest at all in icy desserts.“
“Philly Cheese steak poboy...with handcut fries...delicious. outside seating. ..nope, sitting at a table in the ditch along a very busy street with cars zooming past...nahhhh they have inside seat available but the worker at the register (owner?) told me inside seating wasn't open "this afternoon due to a large party coming in..." they never showed the whole time I ate outside over the dirty ditch. food great, I'll take mine ToGo next time unless inside is available.“
“My favorite business to support are neighborhood shops. They are the pillars of our communities. They understand the economic obstacles locals face and step up to deliver quality farm to table products at affordable prices. Places like this earn our trust and will be a place your kids will bring their kinds one day. A place that you can use as a landmark to give directions to locals and tourists alike. These businesses connect our families to one another because they are family. Gail's Fine Ice Cream is a bright, new ice cream shop that is sure to become a staple of the Lakeview area. The customer service is fantastic. They give great recommendations. Gail's top priority though is their ingredients. The freshness of the product is key. I had a Satsuma sorbet and a Blackberry with crumbled cornbread scoop. They use local harvest in their product. That is a nice touch. Gail's has a nice variety of flavors. They have nostalgic flavors from our childhood too like Little Monsters and milk and cookies. The offer signature drinks too. The Lavender Chai Iced Coffee was delicious. The design of the stand is comfy and inviting. The days down here are hot, so if you are looking for a local treat that can cool you down. Get to Lakeview near City Park and have yourself a Gail's.“
“The best cookies i've ever had from an actual cookie place/business!! they serve all of their cookies warm, fresh and SOFT! there's really nothing like Insomnia cookies, i LOVE this place! it's like 2 blocks down from St Charles, in a little purple house and limited parking in the street“
“Very easy to get to, prices are reasonable, and snow cones are yummy. Their crawfish nachos were delicious, I had the peaches and cream snow ball and it was yummy. Definitely recommend and will come back. They also take credit/debit card so that was a plus.“
“The customer service was horrible I kept getting hung up on when I called to make a modification to a online order I placed for pick up but due to the food being so damn good I’m gone gone disregard it lol I’ll definitely order again from them.“
“BEST CHICKEN SALAD IN THE CITY!!!! This chicken salad is consistently good! I've ordered it like 20 times. It always tastes the same and it is absolutely delicious. It taste better than yours and ya maws! PLUS they give you crackers!!! and the paprika on the top be fiya!!!“
“Exquisite ice cream and might I say exquisite service! I was served by a young brunette girl who gave me the most perfectly round scoop of ice cream! I got the love potion and it sure made me LOVE the ice cream ?. Great establishment, great people.“
“They make their ice cream on site and the flavors were very good. Both my twin sister and nephew said it was the best they ever had! Also my twin is lactose intolerant and they had some awesome flavors for her that made it even better. The shop was set up with both a fun place for kids, but also a great place for romance. Great fun place with a kind owner who you can't help but to like right away.Dietary restrictions: Lactose free, gluten free and nut free options that have e amazing flavorsParking: Free street side parking and a paid parking lot that cost roughly 4.00 for 2 hoursKid-friendliness: They have a fun set up for the kids and things for them to do.“
“Absolutely astonishing food. Great spot to grab a bite to eat with classic NOLA style dishes as well as some American-Chinese options. Staff are consistently friendly and handle large crowds very efficiently.Parking: 10-15 spots, mostly because it's not made to be a sit down and eat establishment.“
“When you're in New Orleans, be sure to hit up the person behind the front desk at your hotel at least once after check-in and before check-out to ask what the best place to grab a snowball (Sno-ball? Up in the air...) is. And if you're lucky, there will be two people behind the front desk, so they can have a fierce debate about it. My decision was made after hearing that Hansen's gave you a souvenir cup with your sno-ball. It was 90+ degrees the entire time we were in NOLA. Without taking the humidity into consideration. So it came as no surprise that the first thing our Uber driver said to us was "Hansen's? I could really use a sno-ball today too!" (We invited her to join us but she declined because of the sugar content. Which... fair.) Plan and time your visit well. Hansen's is a little out of the way and is guaranteed to have a line. I found myself awkwardly craning my neck at times to catch the shade. It's a tiny mom-and-pop place (it's been in the Hansen family for three generations) and the fans inside won't do much to cool you down until you take your first bite of a sno-ball. It tastes nothing like shaved ice. The texture is softer -- truly snowlike. I got satsuma (a tart citrusy flavor that you'll find on the menu of many NOLA institutions, whether edible or in candle form) and cream of earl grey. I could barely taste the earl grey, so I think I should've gotten another flavor, but the satsuma was heavenly.“
