The bartender Billy was engaging, funny and attentive to our needs. The food is as amazing! I would highly recommend!
Good food and servings sizes justify the price. The chargrilled oysters were good but preferred the battered and fried oysters.
OMG! I don’t know if I should start with the cocktails, food or service because everything was Amazing! The wait wasn’t long 30 mins but we decided to sit at the bar ! Dave and Billy were our waiters! They were simply amazing! Super friendly ! Dave made me a basil margarita, sooo good ! The crawfish beignets were absolutely amazing and the entrees were flavorful and tasty! You will not be disappointed! We Will definitely be back!
Gumbo and crawfish beignet were heavenly as appetizers. Then we ordered the shrimp platter, softshell over grits, a shrimp po boy and a catfish over jambalaya. Everything was delicious. Service was great and prices reasonable for the quality. A must visit. We highly recommend if in the area.
Food was great! Short wait time even when they seemed very busy! 20 min! But you can spend that 20 min outside with a drink from the bar ?
Food was excelled. Chargrilled oysters and crawfish beignet were delightful. Very prompt staff. Would highly recommend.
Let’s start this off by giving gratitude to today’s Host & our Waiter/Bartender Bailey who ensured a pleasant, delightful experience here @ Katie’s. We ordered a few things to give us an idea of the flavor and presentations of the dishes and was very impressed by the consistency and tastes!Drinks were Incredible. Definitely down to earth Pricing. Diverse crowd. TVs for entertainment. In door / outdoor seating. On street parking. And the best part… Oldies playing for musicWill definitely be returning.
Food was very good and reasonable price for what you get. My daughter and I split the sandwich. They also have bread pudding that is pretty good. Not the rum drissle style but definitely good.
After our riverboat tour was cancelled and the Bourbon street restaurants had over hour long waits, we found this mid city gem on Trip Advisor’s map. The reviews were great and a quick phone call assured us that there was no wait. What a exceptional find. No wait but it was clear this was a local favorite. I had the night’s special of soft shell meniere over fries with a delicious sauce. It was amazing! A burger for my husband was just as great. Bourbon Street is not the only area with outstanding restaurants. Don’t be afraid to venture out and rely on reviews.
On the recommendation of our BnB host we ventured out to this wonderful hidden gem. My wife ordered the fried shrimp po boy while I ordered the fried fish one. To say we were impressed with our sandwiches would be an understatement. My wife's shrimp one was STUFFED with more shrimps than could have been imagined. The shrimp was delicious. My fish was flakey and also delicious. The bread was perfect. We also had onion rings and fries, which were both tasty. Service was top notch and we would be back again in the future.
No visit home is complete without lunch at Katie's Restaurant & Bar, the food the service and the local atmosphere never disappoint. You should arrive a little early for lunch as the place fills up fast, the menu has a lot to offer as do the daily specials.
Went to Katie's to celebrate my friend's birthday. The atmosphere was lively and the food was delicious. I will definitely visit again!P. S. Don't sleep on their bread pudding. Its to die for!
Covid-19 review: I recently had lunch at my neighborhood Katie's with a new friend to network and get to know each other! And I'm surprised I haven't already written a review about this local gem? Or perhaps it's been a while so my review got erased? Anywho, now I remember why this place is always busy and packed! The hostess was so lovely and let me snag a table at the bar. Otherwise I would have had to wait about 15-20 minutes. And I'm so glad she sat us there because it was delightful getting to know the bartender Billy! He's hilarious, efficient, and attentive but let's you enjoy your space! We started off with the chargrilled oysters which were delicious and of course dipped the French bread after we scraped every last morsel! Then my new friend convinced me to get the watermelon frosé since we were celebrating our new jobs. And let me tell you the frosé did not disappoint! It was cool, refreshing and hit the spot on a hot/humid/rainy summer afternoon! My friend got the mushroom bisque special and seafood stuffed mushrooms and enjoyed them! She even let me try the stuffed mushrooms and goodness if I wasn't stuffing myself with my own meal I would have tried another one! Now I ordered my go to of red beans and rice and opted for the fried pork chop, bc let's get real, I'm not coming in here for a salad, now am I? Haha :) The red beans and rice were delicious but the fried pork chop was the star of the show! It had a light batter on top and the pork chop itself was juicy and tasty! Normally I wouldn't get the pork chop for fear of it being tough and tasteless but thankfully this one proved me wrong! Then we ended our delicious meal with the white chocolate bread pudding with a raspberry glaze. I'm proud to say that we cleaned it up and left no glaze left behind! Haha ;) Overall I would definitely come back here again. I do want to try their pizza bc it's been a while and a lady at the bar enjoyed her mushroom cheeseburger so I was eyeing that as well! Just be prepared to wait bc it's a popular spot and rightfully so! Keep in mind the first floor can get a little loud but there is an upstairs space that is quieter and has an even larger unisex restroom! Happy local eating!
Soooo good. Their menu is never-ending! It was a hard choice, but I got the chicken parmesan, which did not disappoint. Will be back!
We really enjoyed this place..cute..history...yummy big portions. Great friendly staff working hard. The pizza looked and smelled good but we didn't have that. Gumbo was delicious
