“We were looking for a seafood restaurant nearby the RV park we're staying in & this one was 6 minutes away! Perfect! It was busy with quite afew take out orders, but the dine in was quick & we were seated right away. Our waitress, Sarah was very attentive & was patient as we decided what to eat. We ordered the appetizer calamari-the order was huge, golden brown & very good! Finally we ordered the New England crab cakes & kids meal of shrimp & 1 side. Again the portions are huge! We actually brought home half of the kids shrimp & 2 of the crab cakes! After reading the reviews, had to buy a piece of cake & will be snacking on German chocolate as soon as we aren't so full. From the looks of the piece, it will be great!! My suggestion, go hungry!“
“Olivia N, all I can say is FANTASTIC!!! This young lady was an amazing. She was very attentive and friendly. She made our Mother/ Daughter lunch more memorable. I just want to say thank you to her for the wonderful care.Parking: Great Parking!!“
“I just can't eat spicy food but dey will tone it down for you even let u taste test any of dey food 2 see if you like it i love the turkey necks so big the turkey neck was a leg lol must try but price is a bit higher but it is worth “
“The food was good, but the green beans were to salty. It's always pretty noisey in there when the restaurant is full. Will I go back? Yes. I really love the food. Staff is always pleasant. Occasionally it takes a little to long to get your food though.“
“Great little hidden gem. Google told me to come here otherwise I never would have stopped. You have to pay for parking on the street with the meter but that’s the only negative. They have been around forever and have some great food. I got the mushroom chicken sandwich and it came out hot and very fresh. It seemed to have a very steady crowd during lunch time. I would stop here again.“
“There are so many good Mexican restaurants this by far my favorite place. The food is amazing and you get a lot plus the service is so wonderful. The staff is amazing! Juan is the best!Kid-friendliness: The chicken strips and fries are very good here my little one approves!“
“The food was very good and served a table of 10 pretty quickly but several things needed to be added to be a sit down cafe. There needs to be high chairs available, it was hard to eat holding a 10 month old. I would like to see tea and water available not in bottles and need sweetner packets available. The person taking orders seemed to be a bit confused on ringing up items and answering questions we asked, such as is there okra in the gumbo. He did come back and made my order better by offering a cup of very good gumbo...no okra.“
“By far one of the hidden gems of Shreveport-Bossier. It was our first time eating there and it was amazing. Everything was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. First time I ever had turkey necks too and bruh, why have I waited so long to try them??? Delicious! Would recommend this place to anyone that likes food with FLAVOR! A+++++++++++++“
“This is a review for the eating-in experience, I didn't fully realize this place specializes in take-home meats and soups until after I came in. Got a bit of most things, I thought the flavor on the smoked wings, pork shanks, and chicken balls were amazing, the rest were pretty good too. Happy with the service and atmosphere too.“
“I haven’t had the opportunity to go eat at the restaurant but what I want to say is they did catering for a Texas fishing tournament and it was so good! The fish had a good crunch and the batter was perfect. And you know how hard it is to cater fried food for 100’s of people?!? They were working so hard. I hope they know how much we all appreciated what they did and brought to Texas! Thank you for making this experience for our kids and families even more memorable with dang good food!“
“Hats off to Mr. Rick and his wife Ruth , her mother Mrs. Gloria; I believe that’s her name, and their incredible staff. Food was prepared with perfection! Our first visit was on Saturday, we came back Sunday and I would have returned on Monday and Tuesday but they were closed!?Sean & EricaParking: Parking was great. However, their food is so good, it may become a problem in the future.Wheelchair accessibility: I met their brother who is wheelchair bond and he seemed be able to move around pretty good inside.“
“crawdaddys is my wife and I favorite place to eat when we come to Louisiana. . yesterday was probably tenth time eating there and once agin superb food. the waiter we had was probably the best so far.. I was look forward to our trios just so I can come here“
“My wife is the crawfish fan, and it's a joy to be able to stop and efficiently gather and take her a portion that by her standards, is amazing and fulfilling. The pleasant, attentive exuberance of the lovely young'ns theyve got purposefully flitting between the constant inflow to their parking lot, to the radiating rich and seasoned aromas that fill the car on the commute home, make it a tried and true favorite indeed.“
“I absolutely loved this place. The bread pudding is probably the best I've ever had. However, the food is very bland. We ordered the shrimp buster and fried catfish. None of our dishes had flavor. This is Louisiana!!! Whoever is doing the cooking, please spice it up a bit!“
“I’ve been driving over from Marshall, Texas. The crawfish is excellent. The neck bones and turkey necks with gravy are seasoned to perfection. Shane’s used to be my go to for crawfish but I’m here to tell you Lil Animals have moved them around.“
“We are repeat customers for a few years. THIS YEAR is our 1st to ORDER TURKEYS. We ordered 1 smoked & 1 roasted. Both were moist, delicious & well worth the price & worth our drive (40 min 1 way). Also this is supporting local 100%. Ms. Karen, Eric & Mrs Kay are the best cooking crew ever!“
“I went in for lunch today with the girls at work, we decided to go while we were headed somewhere else for lunch. They were so inviting and friendly. I got the shrimp jammers and they are delicious!! Other girls got gator bits, crawfish pie and crawfish Mac n cheese. All delicious!! We will definitely be back!!“
“This is the kinda place I like to visit when I go on work trips. Little, hole in the wall diner that’s got great food for a good price. The atmosphere is friendly. The staff are personable and understanding. I’m eating here from now on whenever I come down. Love it!“
“Best, most tasty, Chinese food we’ve had in Shreveport in years! We eat Chinese a lot, but our precious favorite place of 20+ years became kinda like “different” ?? leaving us and our money searching for a new favorite place. Been trying out all in the 71105, 71106, and 71115 over the past year. This was the BEST! Chicken meat was good quality and very flavorful. Plenty of nuts in Kung Pain Chicken dish. Excellent lo mein, great flavor. All our dishes were fresh and delish!“
“great food, ample servings, expensive, but worth every penny we love their stuffed shrimp basket, but I do substitute the boiled potatoes with butter and seasoning on them for the fries the fries showed me nothing and I always ask for the slaw and green pickled tomatoes or they do not give them to you I also get the fried catfish, a pound with loaded potatoes, all that is very good And their ribs are nice and meaty though they are more like baked ribs, not cooked out back I get the loaded potato with those too because to us the potato salad and beans are just not veyr good Shanes is our favorite neighborhood place out here“
“food was outstanding my shrimp was cooked perfectly seasoned just right with a touch of heat and I love their coleslaw. Restaurant itself is little funky. I can see why a lot of people came in and took their food and go, but they were very happy that help us with our party of six and even brought the food out to the table where we were waiting. Don't be put off by its exterior. It's a good place to have a great taste of Louisiana food.“
“Seems kind of small, overall was great for my friends birthday dinner. They were able to accommodate us with a secluded area so that was great. Mrs. Linda (BARTENDER) ask her for the Lemon drop ? its close to closing so that's probably why everything seemed so rushed but food was on point everything was seasoned to perfection ? ? must try if your in the area.“
“Our local market and grocery store for special items. Go here many times for a late lunch after work on Friday and the family is always cooking up that heat. I always get their soups and filet Caesar sandwich. Wife enjoys their home made cakes and they have a great selection of drinks to go.“
“Windrush has great lunch and dinner options. Their chocolate sack is an easy win to feed the whole table dessert. The brunch is great IF what you want is available. We've had to choose again several times because the kitchen was out of a menu item (and this was near opening, not towards the end of the day when it would be understandable). We like it enough to keep going back....I may just call ahead next time to make sure they have the chicken and waffles available because they are really good!“
“Was very impressed with our experience! The food was divine - my filet was cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. The house made pepper corn salad dressing and twice baked potato are must tries. Even the bread was unique and already oiled and seasoned. My favorite aspect was the intimate and romantic atmosphere. 10/10“
“We arrived early for a 6:00 reservation, and were seated immediately at a remote corner by the oven. First thought was concern about the server finding us promptly. Our water glasses were filled before getting a grasp of the menus. I normally don't drink water in Shreveport. If you live here, you know why. To my surprise, the water did not have the dirt like taste associated with tap water in Shreveport. Not missing a beat, our server arrived, introduced himself, and took our drink orders. He promptly returned with the cocktails and took our appetizer order, which was a dozen grilled oysters and fried calamari. The oysters were small and a little rocky, but don't miss the Calamari. It comes with two sauces, one was a superb remoulade and the other a thick tomato sauce, not unlike a savory tomato soup, just thicker. The calamari is the best I've eaten. I will order the calamari every time I eat here.We took a while deciding an entre. I finally told the server to pick mine, exclusive of the octopus. It may be excellent, but I can't get passed the thought of tentacles attaching to my uvula. My partner ordered scallops. My server looked at me and let me know that was his choice for me but would choose something else. He left the table, not informing us what my entre would be. I was thrilled! How exciting! I ended up an evening special. It was sea brim with a pistachio crust atop pureed potatoes. It was outstanding. The scallops were hands down, the best I've ever eaten.Normally, restaurants in Shreveport will disappoint me one way or another, be it service, food or drink quality, or environment. I have no complaints with Zuzul. If you are a local or just visiting, don't miss this one. I give my highest recommendation.“
