food is always great. this last time delivery guy was a bit rude and muttered under his breath which seemed unnecessary since I came down to the street to meet him so he didn't have to climb two sets of stairs and he was already tipped. didn't help he was in front of the wrong address. not upset, just confused.
This old standby rivals some of the more upscale establishments preparing Chinese-American cuisine. I have been eating here on and off for about 5 years. The prices just increased, but here are my favorites: Shrimp and veg (xtra garlic), steamed chicken and shrimp with vegetables, beef teriyaki, spare ribs, scallion pancakes, Singapore rice noodles, house soup. For years I was always under the impression that this was Beverly's worst Chinese food restaurant. The lobby is dingy and outdated blah blah blah. Well I was wrong. My husband was in charge of ordering take out one night and our usual place wasn't answering their phone. In frustration he called China Wok. We were pleasantly surprised. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious and actually better than our usual go to. Don't judge a book by its cover. The food was delicious
