Always crowded. Wish check out process is easier. I'm always stuck behind someone ordering 30 sandwiches. Those needs to be separated from rest to keep line moving!
Seemingly quite popular as the line was still long at around 2 PM! Lots of groceries and food available. Staff are friendly and courteous. My beef banh mi was pretty good. Not the best; the baguette definitely could’ve been softer, and the meat could’ve been warmer. But the taste was good, the sauce was perfectly sweet and savory, and the pickled vegetables perfectly balanced the whole thing with their tanginess. Looking forward to trying other stuff from here.
Banh Mi is awesome, the mango smoothie is amazing too. Order the smoothie first and then the banh mi!
I got the milk tea today. It tastes very good but the boba was a bit stiff. Besides the boba, the tea is good! I tried other stuffs here! It’s very good. Hope this store makes everything better and better ?
A long time neighborhood spot to get Bánh mì (Vietnamese cuisine sub). I highly recommend their beef Bánh mì. The baguette is lightly toasted and the sauce is unique. Love it spicy!
This is the best damn sandwich I’ve had in my entire life. They coat the bread with this paste that is heavenly when paired with the other ingredients. I’m gonna go back just to find out what it is and if I can buy it in a jar. All their meats are good too.
Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in a voet Togo place. I never expect too much service from a togo place but the cashier at Ba Le is worst of the worst. He throws your sandwiches around like you beg for their food. He called you a terrible customer if you call him out. DO NOT COME HERE. Go to KING-Do bakery down the street! WILL NEVER SPEND A DIME HERE EVER again!

Long line that wraps around the store? Cars double parking outside? Many local natives walking in and out? Ok this place must be good. Let's give it a try. Walked right in, circled around in line patiently. Ok the center table with authentic Vietnamese goods is very distracting , I guess this is how they get you to buy things while you're on line. I don't know how I picked up so much stuff, but I did. They all speak Vietnamese, I don't know what they're saying but everyone in front of me ordered the same thing, so I just pointed and said I want that and that and that. That grilled beef bahn mi was delicious, crunchy bread, well seasoned. The rice noodles with fried pork/ham and bean sprouts was amazing. What sauce was that? Spicy fish sauce ? Delicious. Sticky rice was really good too. Oh and don't forget to stop by for their iced Vietnamese coffee, it's thick and delicious.
Great selection of things, I was curious just looking at all offerings. But I had come here too early for thinking lunch; I had made my mind up I wanted banh mi and I wasn't disappointed. The meats were nicely marinated, I have had fresher or better bread and I have eaten spicier. That said, thoroughly enjoyable and reasonable. Certainly worth the trip back.
If you want banh mi sandwiches in the boston area, skip chinatown and drive down to Dorchester. This is like a vietnamese populated city and they know how to prepare vietnamese food. They make the best viet sandwiches and are most generous with filling, IMHO. The taste is consistently great over the years and this place is always busy. I got 2 orders of the rice noodle plate, the beef lo mein, 3 sesame balls, 4 spring rolls and 4 "special" banh mi sandwiches. All of that was $55. It fed our family of 4 for 2 meals! I can't wait to go back and possibly explore more of their menu to try new things. My favorites are the banh mi and the spring rolls. They also take credit cards now.
There's a lot of selections here as far as snacks or meals. The viet hoagie #2, the bread crumbled as soon as you take one bite. I only ate half and threw the rest away... Bread needs improvement and the pickled veggies need seasoning. Pate needs a little more salt... They did give enough meat...
Best bahn mi sandwiches that I've had in a very long time. I got the bbq pork, bread had the firmness that baguettes should have but still soft enough where you can actually bite into the whole sandwich! The bbq pork was well seasoned and cooked to a smokey perfection, and it balanced out well with the pickled veggies, which were just the right amount of tang and sour. Restaurant looks like it also sells groceries and bread and other yummy looking things. It is only a short walk from the red line!
My go-to spot for banh mi in Boston, and perhaps even the Northeast. The line is often out the door on weekends, but it’s worth the wait.BBQ beef and bbq pork banh mi are my top choices and I’ve been getting them for years since the Ba Le shop was half its size and the price was half of what it is today. The price changes with the times, but the banh mi is still as good as the first time I’ve been here.
Great spot for authentic Vietnamese food whether that be snacks, breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Very good prices and fresh food. Lots of choices and worth the long drive I take to get there! Their banh mi is a must try!
