Honestly this experience was tainted by our poor service, which is unfortunate. We were greeted and seated at our table. Our server came over and took our drink orders. He did not really greet us or introduce himself. When he came back, we ordered our appetizers and he asked if we knew what we wanted for our meals. When we said we hadn't decided yet, he seemed annoyed. Side note, later in the night we heard another server telling his table about specials, we were never informed there were specials, which was a bit annoying. For appetizers, we got the Caesar salad, which was phenomenal! And I got the French onion soup, which was good but not worth the $19 they charge. When we were ready to order entrees, I asked about the fried chicken and how it was. His response was something along the lines of it's fine, but this is a steak house.... I should have known by his response not to get the fried chicken, but I did it anyway and regretted my decision. The skin was so bland. It literally had no flavor at all. My husband got the bone in ribeye and he really enjoyed it. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. For sides, we got the onion ring tower, which was expensive, and once again, nothing too exciting. We also got the truffle fries which were good. Our food came out hot and the presentation was great! Back to the service, our drinks (my water and my husbands tea) went empty several times throughout our meal which is one of my pet peeves. Our server would come check on us and we would have to ask for refills. I expect at any upscale restaurant, refills should come without having to ask. At one point, towards the end of our entrees, our server literally just took the sweetener container away. My husband's tea glass was sitting there empty, and he had wanted a refill. Instead of asking if he wanted a refill, he just took the sweetener. It was so weird, my husband and I just looked at each other. When he came back the next time, we asked for another tea and then he had to bring the sweetener back. The ambiance of the restaurant was great! The colors, textures, and dim lighting made for a great romantic vibe. I loved the huge wine cellar and the bar, both great decor. My last complaint was I had put on our open table reservation that we were celebrating. Not that we were expecting anything for free, but our server didn't even mention it or ask what we were celebrating. I'm not sure if he just didn't care or if this was an oversight at some point, but either way, that was a bit frustrating. Overall, we spent $270 here before tip. We got a lot of food, like I just said, we were celebrating. The ambiance was lovely, the food was great (although I personally would have gotten a different entree and skipped on the onion ring tower in hindsight)... and with that we would have gladly came back, but with the poor service, I'm not sure we will.

I wanted to love it. For the price tag, I should have loved it. I was looking forward to loving it. I didn't love it. I didn't even particularly like it. It was mediocre at best. My filet was CHEWY. Very chewy. A filet should be like butter, it should never be chewy. My asparagus was cold. I asked for a half strength drink and got a double strength-i couldn't drink it. The creme Brulee we ordered wasn't browned, it was burnt. (The custard was good). The potatoes were way too salty to eat. My husband's fries were cool upon arrival, they should have been piping hot! but he did like his hanger steak. The restaurant was pretty empty, so there's no excuse for mediocre food. The waiter was very nice, he tried very hard- but he was apparently the only waiter working- consequently service suffered, through no fault of his. It was supposed to be a celebratory meal. It pretty much killed the celebration. Think twice.

The steak was cooked perfectly and got my first Chateaubriand - fantastic! Try the broccoli and onion ring tower for sides. The staff was great and the ambiance was upscale.

We have been to this restaurant several times but not in the last year. We were shocked they didn't have valet parking as they used to. Then another surprise was that it was only 50% full on a Friday night. It used to be packed. What happened? The service at the beginning was very slow. Then it improved. The last surprise was that they were out of one of their signature plates. The grilled hanger steak. Although the food was good, we left kind of frustrated, and for sure, it won't be in our list of favorites any time soon

Used to be one of our favorite restaurants. Overall wasn't pleased. I wrote anniversary on our reservation and no one addressed it. The food also didn't have much flavor. Might have been an off night but I expected more

The Caesar salad was great - crispy fried kale on top was a great addition. The hanger steak was enjoyable. One star off because I love fries and their fries were way too salty. They could have benefited from a sauce on the side, at least some ketchup.

A good option for brunch in the south end. I have been here before and was craving the chicken sandwich I have had in the past, but this time it was dry and overcooked, and lacked enough sauce. Also the fries were so salty that none of us at the table could finish them. The other things we got were just fine and the service was excellent.

Steak was ok - lacking that desired great steakhouse flavor. Bolognese is always a hit. Drinks were tasty but their timely delivery was lacking. We ordered a second round before our mains arrived and the drinks showed up after we finished eating and had placed our napkins on the table- assumed they had forgotten and no waiter was around to ask about their status. When they were dropped off to a clearly finished and ready to pay table, there was no reading the table and offering to take them off the bill like would be the level of service expected at such a restaurant.

I love the look of this restaurant. It feels like you're in New York City.Very stylish, masculine decor. I love the lighting, the music selection is great. The service is unsurpassed. Our waiter was Brandon and he could not have been more efficient or accommodating. then there's the food, exceptional, perfectly seasoned and cooked. I loved everything I had from the salad to the popover and dessert. I will definitely be back.

I'd be happy to help you rephrase your previous text. Here's a more constructive version: We recently dined at Boston Chops, a beautifully converted firehouse restaurant that's perfect for both casual and special occasions. We chose to celebrate our daughter's 22nd birthday there, and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent, and the portions were just right. The oxtail croquettes were particularly delicious, and the steaks were cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made our evening even more enjoyable. However, there were a few minor issues that we noticed. Our orders for the main course and desserts were mixed up, indicating that more training may be required. Despite this, we still had a great time and would definitely return to Boston Chops in the future.

Booked a reservation for 9pm(available on open table). I walked in at 8:55, was greeted by who I assume was the manager, who immediately told me I was their last reservation. I was greeted by the waiter who seemed to be very inconvenienced. I felt pressure from his initial contact to hurry up and order. He even insisted that if I wanted to order dessert I had to do it right then because the kitchen was closing. After taking my order, he proceeded to walk upstairs to a balcony, sit at a table and eat within my view. He would occasionally stop eating and come down to check on me(without washing his hands). The side dish that he said was his favorite potatoes au gratin, were horrible. The cream seemed curdled. Everything else was good. Other than the service. The pressure to hurry ruined the entire experience for me. If you don't want customers coming in past a certain time..do not make that time slot available on OT!!!

Mediocre at best. Filet mignon came out looking like bluefin tunasteak translucent in the middle. I ordered medium it was cold in the middle and extremely under seasoned.Same thing happened to the people eating dinner next to us.

Service was GHASTLY... plain rude. The waiter left us unattended for 30mins after serving us the drinks on a nearly empty restaurant.... When he finally came back after 30 mins to take our order we communicated our displeasure to what he replied “do you want the check?” ... so we did... bill was 60 dollars for drinks and we left on an empty stomach.... Honestly AVOID
