First google review ever but had no choice given the situation. Used to come here every week with my group of friends in Boston (celebrated several birthdays, farewells, etc..) The only night the place was crowded we were treated like **** . After waiting an hour outside in the cold (despite having a reservation) We showed up 8 instead of 7 and they denied entry to the 8th person in the « speakeasy section » Never setting foot in that place ever again and would advise you not to either. So disappointing.

Decent place but bouncer system is garbage, they will lie to your face about wait times.

Way too expensive for the quality of the atmosphere and the food. Wouldn’t recommend coming here for a date, but for a pregame or a quick drink with the pals. Duck and fish entrees were ridiculously salty. Service was decent. We asked for extra lemons and got a bowl full. It was $90 per person.

Another great evening at Carrie Nation. Delicious food, great selection of wines and cocktails. This was a live band night playing at the restaurant and attracted a more youthful and energetic crowd than usual. The speakeasy is a must to chill out after dinner. Missed the jazz vibes but will come back a Friday night.

Nicely varied menu, pleasant table service. The dessert menu skews to after dinner drinks. We were there a weekend night when a jazz trio setup and started there instrumental set at 7. It seemed a comfortable place to linger. Also, a “neighborhood “ menu (fixed price 3 course for under $40 per) was offered as well as the appetizer/salad/entree menu. The room fills with the sound of group conversations but the he ceiling and floor lengths draperies seem to muffle the sharpness, making conversations more a background. Good for couples and small groups.

Our waitress seemed to have half the restaurant so it was tough to catch her; it took about 25 minutes to get our drinks (2 glasses of wine and a lemonade) and later almost 30 minutes to pay the bill. For food, I ordered carrots and hummus plate. The hummus and carrots were tasty, but the oven roasted carrots were served lukewarm and served on a chilled plate. Also, $22 for 3 carrots seems steep. Have always liked Carrie Nation, but in the future like more of a drink spot than a meal.

Great food, reasonably priced for Beacon Hill/Boston. The speakeasy in the back was closed for a private party till 9:30. We arrived early for our 7:30 reservation and were surprised with a front row table for the Jazz trio that was playing.

Nice spot for drinks with a speakeasy feel. It’s close to the Park Street T stop. It’s open reasonably late on weekdays and has nice seating. There are a few nonalcoholic beer options. Because there are often a lot of open tabs, make sure to check that there weren’t any superfluous charges added, like gin to sip. There are some accessibility elements like a lower bar and aid to to go up the stairs.

Very nice ambiance and decor. Unfortunately the service was inexistant. We were greeted by someone who told us to go and find a place. We walked through the whole place towards the speakeasy. We came back and sat at the restaurant. The same guy who greeted us came back and told us we can't sit because we didn't have a reservation. He did not offer us anything and just left. So we did the same. You've lost 2 good customers. Nevertheless the place looks very nice, unfortunately cannot speak about the food and drinks. Hope u take your customer service up a notch.

I went into Carrie Nation for a Sunday Drag show. While we didn't have the brunch buffet, I can say that service was outstanding. The manager who arranged our particular front row seats xoulsn't have been nicer, or more accommodating. The cocktails were well crafted, creative and delicious. Of particular note, the sound and lighting for the show is unparalleled in Boston, making the entertainment product totally professional. I'm a piano entertainer, not a drag queen, but it's anprrformqmce space worth envying.

Purchased a 55$ ticket to come here for New Year’s Eve along with a group of 15 others. When we arrived we had to wait about 30 minutes outside in a line even though the event had started at 9pm and it was 10:15pm at this point. The person checking the tickets couldn’t have hated life more. We were told to have the barcodes ready while waiting in line and then they yell at us saying it’s by last name not the barcode. Great communication and coordination by the staff. After getting inside half of our group was already in the “back room” where the dj was. When we went to go in there we were told we were not allowed and had to be put on a waitlist. What was the point of buying a 55$ ticket if we can’t even be in the area where the dj was and now we’re separated from the rest of our group. When asked why this was we were told the ticket only covered entry to building…is the back room not apart of the building? When we added our group of 10 on the waitlist they ended up just letting smaller groups in ahead of us anyway. Worst experience. Next time be honest when selling tickets that only the first 100 people actually get to experience the dj. Will never be coming back to this establishment even on a regular day.

Over all great! New Years Dinner, great pace to dinner, but expected a bit more explination from waitress. food was great! Drinks amazing. Ice cream freezer burn. We were told 90 minute restriction but then we had to go to front desk to get check after 2 hours.

We totally enjoyed our evening specifically because we loved the three piece jazz/contemporary band that played. It is so hard to find casual live music... we listened to Billy Joel, Sinatra, Elton John and Jazz Classics!! We had such fun.
