I ordered a birria torta and a passion fruit drink and the total was over $28 including a 15% tip. Wow! Expensive... and the meal was mid.

Spent $41 and they skimped!!!! Never again. Couldn’t even count my change or put it in my pocket before they pushed me out the way. AND THE TACOS ARE

Had fish and carne tacos. They were OK Americanized tacos. The biggest flaw (in addition to the American garnish) were the tortillas...maybe from Sysco, maybe old, maybe over-cooked...something not fresh and local-made.They lost a star because painted above the door is something like "Mexican Street Food." Not even close. Maybe they should lose two stars for that. The guy at the counter was friendly. The service was kind of slow for four tacos at a not-busy time. Good red and green salsa. The best New England tacos I ever had were from a food truck in North Adams. Go figure.Warning: four tacos and one bottle of pop = $29.

Bomb-tastic Mexican food right on Centre St. in JP! I stumbled in one day while trying to explore the area and was stunned by some of the great Mexican street food offered here. The space is small but def has enough for a few groups to gather as well as plenty of solo bar seating on the side. Most people grab to-go here anyways. Food comes out pretty quick and you can also order online on their website for an even quicker pick up. I highly recommend the birria tacos here! One order is about $15 and has 3 tacos with a flavorful consome. I've had these birria tacos about 4 times already and they have been consistently deliissshhh! It's hard to find a lot of authentic birria tacos places in MA, but Chilacates is def a great start and a good enough place, so check them out! I've also ordered quite a bit of the other items offered here but weren't too impressed. The al pastor, carnitas and carne asada tacos were a bit pricey for what you get. The chicken tinga burrito is good and convenient for grab and go, but at the same time, felt a bit underwhelming overall. The torta was unique and tasted great overall but became messy and a bit soggy (even though we dined in). The carne asada quesadilla was great! It was just the right amount of junky (with generous amounts of cheese) but also balanced with all the guac, sour cream and pico!

The food was terrible, my torta was soggy and the meet was slimy. My horchata was flavorless and had a gelo like substance in it.

Birrias were juicy and flavorful. My shrimp quesadilla was not too cheesy so I never got sick of eating it. I'm a pretty picky person (usually always ask for no this no that or sub in this for that) and chilacates at all 3 JP locations accommodated me with my special requests with no issues ever. We will be back

I had the carne asada burrito (large). I ordered online it was ready as promised. It was tasty, I ate the whole thing. It wasn't remarkable. The rice and meat were dry, the tortilla was good.

As some other reviews have said, yeah this is definitely a take out spot. However, the quesadillas…? Absolutely amazing. I will definitely be back to grab me some of those again sometime! So good!

I ordered the chicken quesadilla and the tres leche cake. The quesadilla was cold, soggy and a complete mess. The chicken was dry. The cake was in a tiny container and there were approximately four bites; definitely not worth the money. The cream on top looked and tasted like Cool Whip. Normally my meals have been very good, but this time it was extremely disappointing.

They lost my order and acted like it was my fault when I arrived. The food is good, but they apparently don't like certain customers.

There was some kind of rock / pit in my burrito, I chipped my tooth on it and had to see my dentist after. Not a good experience!
