Everything I've tried here has been good but something juuuust missing, so I can't give that last star. The warm lobster roll has a really tasty bun and is slathered in butter, but unfortunately has several pieces of shell in it. Not quite worth $40 to pick shells out of your mouth. The chowder is really yummy, not overly thick, and the potatoes stand out. The onion rings remind me of onion strings. Very lanky. They are very thin and have lots of flavor The bartenders are always super friendly and it has a casual but appealing decor and atmosphere.

In Boston for a few days and determined to enjoy all kinda of seafood. Am on day 3 after 2 days of awesome meals. My mom had fish and chips @ Cusser's in Timeout. Chips was good but so disappointed with the fish. It had the just thawed texture with no flavor. Batter was crispy but so so. Biting into the flavorless fish was a real letdown. Cold lobster roll for me. Buttery crust and big bc inks of lobster. Enjoyed the slightly sweet flavor. Complimented the chowder very well. Chowder the best I've had this week, just wish it was a bit thicker.

I know why this place is called Cussers The food is straight-up GARBAGE and the prices are WAY too high. If your expectations are high, expect disappointment here. Saw several good reviews and gave it a try. Out of twenty-six meals that we ate while visiting Boston for 10 days, THIS was the worst! Buyer Beware.

For a quick weekend dinner, I decided to try Cusser's l, since my only prior experience with roast beef had been at supermarket delis. After finding a seat at the counter (not difficult, as the entire establishment is one giant counter), I ordered a roast beef sandwich and onion rings. The onion rings ($4.5) seemed well balanced. They had enough oil to not taste dry, but without feeling greasy, both on touch and on bite. Less balanced was the portion size, which could have been a shareable appetizer for 3. Lastly, the seasoning, seemingly more than just basic salt and pepper, made this quite the value proposition. The roast beef sandwich, called the 80T Style ($12), arrived with, as the menu described, "all natural Wagyu, pickled red onions, cheddar, and Thoreau sauce". This arrived with a well-buttered and toasted bun (pretzel I think). The pickled onion provided a refreshing acidity, especially with the onion rings. Lastly, I ordered a few cocktails, priced at $15 ea. The level of detail and attention to quality, such as using house made cordials, rivals much more upscale establishments. This seemed quite incongruous given the plastic serving plates and diner style interior. Nonetheless, it proved charming in the local/townie way.

Fantastic quality food. The warm lobster roll, the chicken sandwich and the roast beef were all outstanding. The clam chowder was loaded with clams and the fall salad was huge and excellent! I love this place!

I'd noticed the Cusser's name thanks to their stand at Time Out Market, so when I saw that they had a convenient stand-alone location here at the crossroads of the Back Bay, South End, and downtown, I decided to give them a try. You'll find a casual ground-floor outlet centering around a triangular bar that mimics its building's and block's shape. Seeing as the bartenders were slinging so many interesting drinks, and as the cocktails menu was so large, I decided to give their drinks a try. I wasn't disappointed. Their #12, if I remember correctly, featured a sweet, slightly citrusy, slightly creamy mix of coconut rum, lemon, lime, soursop, Muscavado orgeat, and Li Hing Mui powder, all attractively presented in a pineapple-shaped jar. Worth the $15. I had to try their "Cusser's Three-Way," not just because threesomes are always super hot, but because it looked like their signature sandwich. It went down super fast not just because it was a modestly sized sandwich, but also because it was super goopy and tasty, between the Wagyu shavings, house-made BBQ sauce, mayo, and cheese. Premium-priced at $12 but still very delicious and satisfying. A cup of chowder, meanwhile, was passable at $8. Not as thick and creamy as I like, as a native Bostonian, but at least not so thin so as to be brothy. Overall, I'm glad I stopped by. I'd even say that the cocktails are the star of the show here, as opposed to the eponymous roast beef - so think of this as a nice, casual bar with quality food to match.

Headed to a walking tour nearby in The Commons, I pre-ordered the two styles of Wagyu Beef Sandwiches and a lemonade. It was a busy Saturday night for traffic, we were dropped off behind schedule! We walked as briskly as we could, which was a fast 8 minute walk from the Botanical Garden; 5 if I would have left my partner's slow a** behind. I was a half hour late picking up my order, but the staff was super friendly. They didn't mind my sweat covered brow or my tear covered face, there were smiles. The man who looked like Dan from Game Grumps smiled and said something I couldn't hear as he handed me a giant bottle of water, a freshly squeezed lemonade and the bag with my order. Another brisk walk back to The Commons, this time a leisurely 8 minutes because maps sent us on a faster route, we were checked in and ready to eat. If you're comparing this food to Arby's because of the pictures being similar, you're making a big mistake. The food is top quality, high end. I would have paid double for the Sandwich. The lemonade was amazing. The sandwich with tomatoes is the way to go if you love a fresh mouthful with inspired flavors. If you need a bolder, more smokey flavor, go with the bbq sandwich. I ate a sandwich and a half because I needed fuel to fight ghosts. We're going back tomorrow to get another sandwich, and to try more items off their menu.

I really like their 80T style roast beef sandwich! It's so tasty! Got to love pickled onions. Remember to get an order of their shoe string onion rings. Beware of a food coma after this delicious meal

Visiting from out of town needed to find something good and local to eat. I am so glad I came here! Asked the bartender for his recommendation and he said warm lobster roll with the onion rings. Grateful for the recommendation cause it was the best lobster roll I've had in my LIFE! Juicy buttery yumminess is all I can say!! Onion rings were perfect!! I may even go back for another tomorrow!!

Tried this place when I visited Boston - so good and at a fair price(~$33)! I got the hot lobster roll and it was stuffed with big chunks of lobster - a little too much butter in my opinion, but if you like butter these are the lobster rolls for you! Would definitely recommend!

We were craving lobster rolls and read the great reviews on Yelp. Cutters did not disappoint! We were told by the bartender to try the warm lobster rolls and they were so tasty. I asked for a greek salad on the side and my daughter got the fries. Both were really delicious too. Also, ask the bartender for a great mocktail. We loved it there!

I went to Cusser's to order a take out roast beef sandwich. I was surprised how nice it is and that they have a large bar where you can order and eat in. The bartender was extremely nice as well. The couple next to me ordered lobster rolls and they looked amazing. They told me they were amazing (I know, that counts as a "second hand" review of the lobster roll. For the roast beef sandwich, it was the best I've ever had. The onion roll was soft, and the cheese and barbecue sauce really topped it off. The roast beef was very lean and thin. It was absolutely perfect. One suggestion is to include lettuce and tomato as an option. I'll bet they would have done that for me if I had asked for it.

August 2022:Loved ? the roast beef sandwiches. Shared the 80T and the three way. Also tried a side of the coleslaw. Both sandwiches were really good. My fav was the three way. The BBQ sauce and mayo hit the spot!I'd definitely come back again for more delicious sandwiches ?!

I have had the roast beef sandwiches here many times and always a good sandwich with a great multi seed roll. I went agai and went to window for takeout order as parked at meter.... No one at window. I walked inside, ordered a 3 way roast beef with cheese, barbecue sauce, mayonnaise. And side of cole slaw. Sandwich would be better and easier to eat if cut in half. Roll was toasted and great. Roast beef needed some seasoning or a salt and pepper packet in bag with fork, napkin. The barbecue sauce I don't like ... too thick, too strong taste, lumpy , a honey barbecue or a garlic honey might be better flavor. Cole slaw was plentiful for 2 dollar add on, but was awful... no creamy sauce, no sauce at all and just dry vinegar strong taste, a few bites and dumped rest...... decent pricing ... 12.00 for roast beef sandwiches vs. 11.00 a year ago... under Brandon's inflation, fair pricing. Took35 minutes to get my sandwich watching my parking meter time dwindling.... I'll try again for sure... maybe a lobster roll as looks good. Onions rings also look good. Should offer a mega beef or super beef with more roast beef for 15 or 16 bucks.
