Classic Irish Bar. Great food, proper pints and friendly and professional staff. Filled with locals but inviting to thirsty visitors.

Boston Guinness Review

You of the best pints of Guinness in Boston

Extremely rude bartender. Asked about a missing pizza from our order he said, "you didn't order it from me" and turned and walked away. Ridiculous. If he doesn't work there in the future I would change my 1 star to a 3 or 4, but if he's employed there it stays a 1 for the obvious reason.

First time visiting Boston, this place was recommended. I've visited a lot of Irish pubs but this one stands out as not trying to out shamrock everyone. It's old school and it's cool with the men in white shirts and ties, hardwood bars, dim lighting and great seating layout. We both had fish and chips and I had a cup of chowder. Food was excellent. My wife said it's the only fish and chips she's ever had that was better than mine. Service was good considering they were covered up busy. As a rule we don't eat twice at a location while on vacation but this one is tempting to return to. Prices were very reasonable for a larger city. I honestly expected to pay double what we did. Highly recommended if you're looking for what an Irish pub is supposed to actually function like.

Best clam chowder. The bartenders are the best and have excellent service. I would recommend going a Friday early evening so you can let traffic die down in a cool environment.

We’ve been to Boston quite a few times and not sure how we missed this Pub! What a great bar, good food, and friendly staff! We had the fish and chips and clam chowder. It was the best food we had this trip. Highly recommend. Family owned and operated!

a landmark bar/pub for the city, deep rooted as a locals favorite particularly for public “servants” in law, politics, et al without the trappings of anything more. the citys evolution and the influx of luxury housing in the neighborhood has changed the dynamic a bit but at its core the staff and establishment still maintains its core.Parking: it’s a busy thoroughfare and you’ll park further away in a paid lot/garage likely so just walk or you ride share

I highly recommend JJ Foleys! Best steak tips in the city. A family run bar & restaurant that delivers an old school Boston neighborhood tavern experience. Great menu, and a solid Guinness pour. You will not be disappointed. Well worth a visit!

Me and two of my girlfriends went for a drink this Saturday afternoon and were charged $15 each for an espresso martini. Found out after we left that they were only $11. Complete rip off. And they weren’t even good.
