Missed this place since they moved. The food is always great and the owners are the most humble and kindest people. Our meal was great starting with a Tazo magaritta, highly recommend. I had the special Puerco and camarones in a jalepeno salsa with onion mushroom and cactus with rice and beans on the side. The coolest thing is that if we wanted any meal from the original restaurant they would make it for us. Who does that?♥️ If you haven’t been you should go treat yourself it is worth it

Food is outstanding…margaritas are excellent. Everything is fresh and delicious. If you want Mexican food, I would highly recommend this place & try the Hibiscus margarita!Kid-friendliness: There are books and local art…it’s really a wonderful vibe fur all.
Forgot to put sauces (the entire reason I ordered the menu items I chose) in the bag, refused to fix it with the excuse of being short staffed. The sauces are quite good, but the Don Vasco sandwich and Tostones are quite dry and unappetizing without the sauce, which makes this experience extremely disappointing. I would not recommend anybody order delivery from Azteca. They didn’t even offer the ability to come pick up the sauces myself! This was an extremely disappointing experience.Edit: a delivery driver came to my house an hour after I called with the sauce. While I appreciate the gesture, I would have appreciated more a heads up that they were coming— especially since on the phone they told me there was nothing they can do because they were short staffed! I would have saved my food (and not posted this review) if they had just simply told me they were coming! I simply cannot understand why they chose to do this the way they did. Now I have the sauce. I guess I will find something to eat with it.Edit 2: unfortunately, Google Reviews does not let me respond to responses. I appreciate the apology, but I just don’t understand why you didn’t call back and let me know that you were coming! It wouldn’t have been a big deal at all.

Friendly thoughtful people, but very bland food. The flan was a lumpy tragedy.

Fun and eclectic restaurant/ book store. Great food and atmosphere.
We went to catch some dinner at the Cafe Azteca. We ate in the second level because the lower lever was full. The food was good. However, when they brought us the salsa and chips, the salsa had a thick layer of ice on top. It was a pretty fresh salsa for sure.

Authentic Mexican food at it's finest. The staff is both friendly and knowledgeable. Everything is cooked to order snd worth the wait.

Interesting vibe, located in an almost library setting, but overall the food was pretty good, especially the Enchiladas.

Best Chili I've had.Loved the atmostphere, staff was kind, and was nice to see the "all gender" inclusive bathrooms. But seriously, amazing chili. Was sad to have to leave early and couldn't finish it all. I WILL be returning.

Most-authentic Mexican fare in the area -- always fresh, always delicious. Café Azteca moved from Common Street to its new location on Essex Street. Same delectable dining and service with a smile. We eat here often, including take-out. Love the owners, Antonio and Mary, and their whole team. A family-run business with a lot of heart -- and, of course, excellent food!
