“Fantastic seafood and the friendliest staff. This isn’t a restaurant but the food they serve is very high quality. So far we’ve tried the grilled seared scallop dinner, grilled shrimp dinner, grilled salmon dinner and grilled haddock dinner which were delicious. Perfect amount of seasoning and doneness. Lobster rolls are good too. Crab cakes weren’t the best but that’s not what New England is known for so can’t hold it against them. Wish portion sizes were a little bigger (like the yummy rice pilaf and grilled veggies).“
“Blue Salt restaurant in Newton Mass offers a gourmet meal with specials on the menu created from only the freshest ingredients. Our waitress Liz took very good care of us and I highly recommend you come to this restaurant to enjoy the delicious food. Located at 1255 Washington Street there is plenty of on Street parking.“
“The food and service started out great. A group of eight came in. Once they did, our service got slow, and our food was given to us cool in temperature, not hot. Being that this was an all you can eat timed meal, with restrictions the restaurant sets this wasn't right.“
“What…?How have I not visited this small but mightily-awesome establishment a lot sooner? This tiny Japanese fish market is just a couple minutes away and I’ve somehow failed to visit them until very recently. I guess it has a lot to do with not craving fish for the last year BUT when the first hint of desire for seafood returned, their name immediately popped up in my mind.I’ve been back several times since the initial visit. Their variety of sashimi grade fish as well as specials in their frozen section (fish trimmings and fish heads) definitely suit my personal culinary preferences. On top of that, they actually provide a chirashi service (for a dollar) where they slice the fish you purchased and lay it atop sushi rice for you. This allows you to fully customize your chirashi bowls according to what you crave in the very moment.Friendly people, fresh ingredients, decently priced. Definitely recommend and can’t wait to be back again soon!“
“Excellent very fresh, Extremely AUTHENTIC real deal Chinese!!!! This place is a hidden gem from the 80s!!!Very hefty portions, Non greasy, homestyle cooking- I come here every weekAlways greeted with smile, the front desk owner she is extremely cheerful and accommodatingThey have unique dishes too including specialty fish, and also farm fruits they get tangerines, and Asian pearsIt’s so much value and you can smell the food a mile away, total freshness- trust me you will be Hooked!!!! Definitely try the hot and sour soup, thick tofu and awesome texture!!!“
“Good Sunday brunch venue, with lots of seating, good food options. The Sunday menu is pretty confusing, with only $24 buffet available until 11:30, then lunch items or buffet...If you just want to have breakfast, kit's not happening. The venue is pretty, overlooking the river. Friendly service. A good place to spend time with friends and be able to hear each other.“
“I can't say enough good things about Select. The staff was warm and welcoming and our server John especially was attentive, skilled, and friendly. There were 11 people in our party and everyone had a wonderful time. Food was fabulous. Thank you!“
“It was a great night! Really good energy in the restaurant - lively and sexy and happy. My cocktail was pretty good, salad was fine. I had the trout for dinner and it was very nice - very well prepared. The most impressive part of the meal was the chocolate cake! I usually am not a dessert person, but it was excellent - not overly sweet, but rich and gorgeous.“
“The hostess and wait staff were wonderful, friendly and efficient. Katherine was our head server and did a phenomenal job with such a large group Food and drinks were amazing, as expected. We hosted our son's graduation dinner and they even had a few unexpected personal touches which made it that much more special. Well done!“
“Sarah, the bartender at our recent outing, was an absolute gem. Her impeccable service and exceptional banter elevated our night to unforgettable heights. From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a warm and welcoming smile :), setting the tone for the evening.Sarah's knowledge of whiskey was impressive, and her recommendations were spot-on. She crafted drinks with precision and flair, showcasing her expertise behind the bar. What truly set Sarah apart, though, was her engaging personality. Her witty and playful banter made us feel like old friends catching up, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.Throughout the night, Sarah was attentive to our needs, ensuring our glasses were never empty and providing timely suggestions. Her dedication to customer satisfaction was evident, and it made for an extraordinary experience. If you're looking for not just great service but a memorable time filled with laughter and fantastic drinks, Sarah is the bartender you need to meet. She's a true asset to any establishment lucky enough to have her. Cheers to Sarah for making our night exceptional!“
“Definitely in the vicinity of 1 Michelin star. The service and atmosphere are relaxed and attentive, but not stuffy. The food is very good, with a few standouts: the snapper appetizer, scallops main, and desserts were excellent. The pasta main was a disappointment: too al dente and spicy, and in general, we found most dishes to be on the spicy side. So, I would say 5/5 hospitality, 4/5 food. Dinner took about 2 - 2 1/2 hours, and they were happy to accommodate our needs on that. Service was very attentive but not particularly warm; no mention of the occasion we were celebrating or any special treats from the chef or anything like that. Overall, a great option for a special occasion.“
“Great tasting lobsters and lobster sandwiches. Best lobster bisque in the world--seriously. Seafood chowder also very good. We always go here for the lobster special, which is reasonably priced. Where else in Boston can you get 2 lobsters and a bowl of mussels for less than 50 bucks? This place rocks.“
“We visited the Dovetail restaurant twice this past weekend! Friday night we stopped by for a glass of wine and appetizers. The food and services was so good, we asked them to find us a time on Saturday for a party of 6. They found us a time (it was early but worked). The food is nothing short of excellent. The ambiance is warm and inviting and made you feel welcome like a great neighborhood spot. The menu was a culinary adventure for sure (had to google a few ingredients), the offered a wide range of options that catered to various tastes. We started with some excellent focaccia bread crispy outside with great taste. Both the waitress on Friday and the waiter on Saturday recommend great wine selections. For the main course, I opted for Rigatoni with a Bolognese sauce that was very good. Others in the party had Pork Milanese, Pasta with Lobster, and Cacio e pepe, all enjoyed their meals.Overall, The Dovetail exceeded my expectations in every way. The food was exceptional, the services was excellent, and ambiance was very nice.“
“We are repeat customers and decided to have dinner here for our anniversary. This is very good restaurant. The halibut was perfectly cooked, as was the haddock. Glenn provided wonderful service and brought a dessert on the house to help us celebrate :-)“
“If you don’t go here for lobster rolls, you’re seriously missing out. Buy a pound of fresh lobster and ask for some rolls and a side of butter..BAM. Too delicious. Also fried calamari, clam chowder, and their blueberry lemonade were all superb!“
“Absolutely excellent meal with an excellent team. Starting with the amazing bread and butter and a ln orange creamsicle (adult version of a childhood favorite). Then the broccoli salad with poached egg (poached expertly creating a creamy sauce). I had the fusilli broccoli- home made pasta dressed beautifully. My husband had the chick pea stew - whole chick peas made this his favorite. Finished with delicious double chocolate chip cookies. Can’t wait to go back!“
“Nice spot, great vibe. We sat at the bar on Friday evening and were greeted by 2 very nice bartenders. The calm chowder and calamari were fine. We decided to share the seared cob. It was just ok. Not a lot of taste. It was too thick for my liking. The fixings were a bit too funky. I don't think the value is that frigate money.“
“A notable destination for Mediterranean seafood fares in the heart of Back Bay.Recently took a visit for dinner. Set against a backdrop of a modern lounge vibe, complete with high ceilings, Porto seemed like an ideal spot for date nights. As advertised, their menu featured a blend of Italian pasta and Mediterranean seafood dishes. We started off our meal with the Crispy Calamari. It was a decent appetizer that aligned with the typical offerings of a modern Italian restaurant. Its seasoning was a tad overbearing, but it still set a nice tone for the meal. From their pasta selections, we opted for theWild Mushroom Mafalde and the Wild Boar Cocoa Pappardelle. The Pappardelle boasted a tender boar ragu with umami from Manchego, but it unfortunately suffered from a lack of cohesion. The pasta itself was slightly undercooked and lacked depth in flavor, failing to fully harmonize with the ragu. On the other hand, the Mafalde was enjoyable. The combination of garlic butter and Aleppo pepper introduced a welcomed acidity, and the interplay of textures between the al dente Mafalde and the succulent mushrooms was particularly satisfying. The highlight of the evening was the Seared Bronzino. Unlike many other Branzino dishes I've tried in Boston, which often fell flat in flavor, Porto’s rendition was masterfully-seasoned. Each bite struck a perfect balance between salinity and the sweet nuances of the squash purée.While Porto may not be the best Mediterranean spot in Back Bay, its seafood offerings, particularly the Seared Bronzino, make it worth a return visit. The pricing, given the quality and ambiance, also doesn’t feel too excessive. Recommend giving them a try if you’re looking for an upscale romantic venue with great food and atmosphere.Parking: Prudential public parking garage“
“Top notch service, my waiter Mac and his team were amazing, he was attentive and had a great personality. Thanks Mac!!!I had ordered lobster bisque, 1/2 dozen oysters, lobster taco, crab cakes which were all good beside the steak tartare. It was sallly :/ we had also ordered 18oz prime bone in New York strip with smoked chili rub and that was a big huge mistake. I give this steakhouse 6/10“
“We had an outstanding experience. Food and service were amazing. For example I always thought shrimp cocktail was shrimp cocktail but somehow these shrimp were fresher and tastier. The oysters were ridiculously good and my lobster roll was perfect. This will be my go to place for seafood in back bay.“
“Our meal, from app to desert was outstanding. We started with the cheese board, then grilled octopus. We bath had the halibut dinner special as our main entree. The chocolate tort was exceptional. Service was excellent. We will return to dine here again.“
“We got the salmon cups, which was very hearty and yummy! We also got the Botan Ebi Ikura and the Miso Butter Cod and another handroll which I forgot but all were so fresh and delicious in their own ways. We did have to wait 20 minutes to be seated since it is a small space, but it was totally worth it!“
“Excellent meal and super quick service. Actually amazed on how a small place got meals done so quick. Have not been to north end since pre covid and had no idea what to pick. Just happened to pick here as it was available on open table. It was definitely the right choice. Table was waiting for us in a totally full restaurant. BTW it says they validate parking at sister restaurant form parking but did it right at the table. Walk from garage is a straight shot of maybe 5 blocks. All easy!“
“Cute local shop with limited seating. Their poke reminds me of Hawaii - very simple, delightful, with good portion sizes. I would especially recommend their friend chicken that comes with their sweet and sour sauce. The owner was very sweet and gave us free pineapple cake which was delicious!“
“This was an amazing Omasake experience in Lexington. Chef Mike prepares all of the sushi fresh in front of you. He is committed to pushing himself to create unique and different flavors. Definitely the best omakese we've had in the Boston area. Could not recommend more if you want great food with a relaxed, cozy atmosphere.“
“Legit moved every bit of my meal! From the brown butter lobster roll to the delicious crudo. My only beef is the 5% admin fee already added! When I asked about it they said: “it’s to distributed to our non-tipped staff in the form of increased wages.” Why I am responsible for paying your employees a better wage?! Shouldn’t that be left to the owners/management?!“
“The BEST Chinese restaurant in the area.such great value for delicious and authentic Chinese food. The servers are the sweetest and nicest. Great atmosphere and always high attention to detail. All your classic Chinese dishes. The dumplings are AMAZING - juicy and flavorful - made with handmade dumpling skins. The beef noodle soup (niu rou mian) is delicious as well - very well balanced! My go-to Chinese restaurant spot!“
“The food here is phenomenal, but I really want to call out the service b/c it is absolutely *divine* – from everyone – host, manager, wait staff, bartender, owner. I came in solo on Friday night hoping to snag a bar seat and the place was fully booked (bar + tables). I mentioned disappointedly that it was my one night out away from my two young kids, and never before have I seen people move so swiftly to accommodate me! They put me at a table for a drink and app while we waited for a bar seat to open, and eventually I was able to grab a seat at the bar. It was just so kind and caring to feel taken care of, and everyone was warm and down to earth. It may have seemed insignificant to them, but it made my whole week. The food, as well, was exceptional. I had the kale salad to start (dressing was out of this world!) and then the parmesan crusted swordfish, which sat over potatoes in a tomato broth, and was fantastic. The dip for the bread service was also so so good; I anticipated asking to bring it home, but instead I ate it all lol. The menu was interesting, but classic, and as a pescatarian, I felt like I had many choices. I had two glasses of wine, but the bartender was making drinks that looked A+. Next time, I will def opt for a cocktail. We have lived a mile down the street from this place for almost 8 years, and can't believe it was my first time in. I have been missing out. My husband and I have always wished there were more nearby date spots, and I think we found it. We will be back many, many more times in the future!“
“✅ Amazing Ambience✅ fast✅ Food is spiced just right, not too salty, not too spicy etc✅ Plates, presentation, and others were beautiful✅ hard to find authentic dishesI will be back again and again!!!! Whoever the chefs are need a raise!!!! And the staff!!! They're amazing!!“
“We met friends for a casual dinner and it didnt disappoint. Everything was delicious from beginning to end. Our server Ben was amazing. He was attentive and informed and funny. He made great suggestions since it was our first time. We will definitely be back. Thanks!“
“Saltie Girl is a great seafood restaurant in Back Bay. You definitely want to make a reservation in advance, even though on a weekday. We enjoyed the oysters, Boston lettuce salad, and pan seared halibut. There is a nice variety of oysters with the local Holbrook and 1620 being our favorites. The Boston lettuce had beautifully shaved ingredients and could have lobster added. The pan seared salmon had a crisp edge and buttery flakiness. I’d recommend this spot for a special occasion and would definitely go back.“
“We had Sunday brunch at Black Lamb. We were greeted warmly and led to a high top table, which was very comfortable and fun for the tall boys in my group. The hostess and our server teamed up to make sure that we had enough attention. The food was absolutely fantastic! I cannot recommend the biscuits and gravy highly enough. It was a special that I truly hope they make a regular item. The service, the ambience, the food—all get an A+! We will definitely be back!“
“Hip little spot in Somerville for seafood with a Peruvian twist. This spot is pretty small so make a reservation ahead of time. Seating can be pretty intimate if you have a big party or broad shoulders. The seafood was good, I recommend the mixed seafood risotto and the cocktails were delicious.“
“Made a reservation for 5. Wine selection is great. Enjoyed 3 apps, highly recommend the crab & lobster cakes, calamari was perfectly cooked but I would have like a dipping sauce. Entrees were very good, steaks were perfectly cooked and the AKC was reasonably priced and a great portion for a high end restaurant. Desserts were nicely chilled and very good. Lastly the service was A+. Paced out perfectly, knowledgeable and friendly. Manager even made his way but to check in. Overall a 9 out of 10. Better than the seaport location in my opinion.“
“The food was, without a doubt, the top of the line delicious. We had a bone in rib-eye steak, which was outstanding and cooked to perfection. "Hats off to the chef ??". I had potatoes and creamed spinach with my steak. The creamed spinach was on the salty side. The Lamb chops were outstandingly delicious as well. Steak and lobster tails were good. There were no complaints other than the waitress was kind of cold and inattentive.“
“I love this place. My friends introduced it to me when I first moved to the area and my husband, son, and I have been going ever since. They do dollar oysters every day until 5:30pm, which is hard to find these days. It's the best deal in town! We also love the poutine and there's usually a few great local/seasonal beers on draft. Great atmosphere and the guys who work here are friendly, efficient, and helpful. Highly recommend!“
“Highly recommend The squid ink pasta puttanesca was a delightful symphony of bold flavors, with the brininess of olives and capers perfectly complementing the rich, savory squid ink sauce. Paired with impeccably cooked fried calamari, the dish achieved a harmonious balance of textures. Each bite was a culinary adventure, leaving me thoroughly satisfied.“
“I have a gluten allergy and was so excited to learn they have gluten free buns. So happy they can accommodate allergies! I got the lobster roll flight and it was delicious! Will definitely be coming back.Dietary restrictions: Loved the gluten free rolls“
“As always, the food was fabulous and the atmosphere was perfect. We felt that service could have been a little more attentive. It seemed like forever sometimes to have our waitress come over. I don't know if they need to hire more waitstaff.“
“The restaurant was really nice, we didn't have to wait to be seated. The waitstaffs were very nice and helpful when ordering from the menu. Every dish we ordered were really delicious. I personally love the Grilled Octopus, Calamari and red beet salad, the drinks were divine ?. I think is a neighborhood gem . Definitely will come back.“
“This place is the best authentic Italian restaurant in the area, hands down. You won't find chicken parm on the menu, which is perfect in my opinion. The service is awesome because it's a family business and they all genuinely care. The ambiance reminds me of a typical place you would find in one of the little hill towns in Italy. The chef and owner will accommodate any requests within reason! Love this place!“
“Great dining experience, and food flavorful and the right portion , the tuna tar tar was my fave of the night was absolutely fresh and delicious I have been to the seasons 52 in Burlington so my expectations were kind of high and the chestnuthill location did not disappoint it was a bday dinner and the birthday girl enjoyed it was well ..“
“Wonderful staff which that was very helpful of offering suggestions from a nice variety of Entrées and main courses. The ambience is warm and open with large windows over looking the lights of Boston. The grilled octopus was out of this world as was the beef Capacio with its wonderful truffle sauce. The Dover soul was beautifully prepared and deboned table side into moist strips of white fish with a light butter and lemon sauce. Also, enjoyed the unique serving of tiramisu for desert, which was also prepared table and was a great way to finish off the meal. Was a great place to celebrate our anniversary, and greatly appreciated the great service and food.“
“Cozy atmosphere, decent prices, free miso soup no matter what you order.Server kept forgetting items in our order but we would ask and he would say they're on their way.. I assure you, the tea coming after the sushi boat was made and eaten was definitely a forgotten tea. They have gluten free soy sauce and as a vegetarian I was able to eat a cucumber avocado roll.Vegetarian options: Not labeled on menu but you could ask.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free soy sauce.“
“Super pricy, super busy...but worth it! Even though I arrived around 4pm on a Sunday, we still waited outside in line for about 40 minutes before we were seated. That being said, I think we were 20th in line, so the line does move quickly. It also seemed to move the most quickly for parties of 2 -- I would not bring a huge group here. The raw oysters were out of this world, as was the lobster bisque. This is definitely a splurge (raw oysters were about $4 each), but also extremely good food.“
“Beautiful restaurant with fresh food and amazing service. The lobster rolls were super expensive, packed with fresh, large chunks of lobster. Still not sure they were worth the price tag. The lobster bisque was creamy and tasty, not fishy at all! The salmon was perfectly cooked and the truffle lentils were delicious.“
“Who else hasn’t eaten bean sprouts and egg fried rice? It’s like a state banquet. I’ll be really sad if someone doesn’t pack a portion to take away when someone comes. It’s so delicious. It’s worth walking ten minutes in the cold wind to buy egg fried rice. (Egg fried rice can be bought separately without having to eat hot pot. Those who are too lazy to turn on the fire are in luck)“
“I have never posted a review before. My wife and I are visiting Boston during the winter and we ate dinner at Summer Shack last night. We ate at Atlanta Fish Co a few days ago and that was good too. We went to Pescador tonight and it was so very bad we paid the check, left the food and went back to the Summer Shack because it was so incredibly good. Recommend to all who love great shellfish and lobster. The best.“
“Contemporary Peruvian spot in West Cambridge. After a few successful years with Celeste, Maria and JuanMa launched La Royal in hopes to expand the Peruvian food scene in Cambridge. I had a great experience at Celeste a few weeks ago, so I recently made my way to La Royal to check out their expanded range of Peruvian offerings. The seafood appetizers at La Royal had a well-balanced flavor profile, but it somehow felt more generic. JuanMa’s creations at Celeste, which hold a more personal narrative from his childhood in Lima, seemed superior, with their more robust flavors and better quality seafood. I was especially disappointed with Causa de Tuna Salad, which just seemed like an overpriced tuna salad over mash potatoes. On the other hand, the cheesy Scallops au Gratin soaked in butter was a decadent treat. The entrées thankfully redeemed our experience. Both the Arroz Con Seared Duck and the Whole Bronzino were great. The former dish paired lean, perfectly seared duck breasts with the invigorating zest of salsa criolla. Despite my initial reservations about the cilantro rice, its subtle aroma was a pleasant surprise, and it felt more reminiscent of a well-executed paella. The Patarascha, grilled in plantain leaves, maintained the Bronzino's tenderness while infusing it with the unique flavors of Amazonian condiments. The process of deboning was somewhat cumbersome, but the intricate blend of spices and vegetable toppings more than compensated. While I may be hesitant to get seafood appetizers in my future visits, the entrées at La Royal are undeniably compelling. If you’re looking for a great ceviche experience, Celeste might be a better option, but for refined and satisfying Peruvian meals, La Royal also does a great job.“
“Had great reviews so we tried it and it lives up to the hype. The food was great and we really liked the atmosphere. I tried the Shepards Pie (pictured) just so I could say I ate that in an Irish Pub and it was delicious. If we lived in Boston this would be a frequent place for us to eat.“
