Edit: after eating here for a couple of years I would recommend the Pork Chop w/ cheese & tomato sauce (takes awhile to prepare, order 30min in advance), Sweet & Sour Pork w. Pineapples, congee, hot & sour soup, and milk tea.The space is pretty small so I typically do takeout and everything keeps well. As people have mentioned, the portions are enormous!

The place is small, but it is a real authentic Chinese food. Prices are reasonable. All the dishes are delicious. Especially their chicken dishes. And I really enjoyed the Hong Kong style milk tea. The staff is very friendly!

A little hot in the wall located in Wollaston ( Quincy ) area, this tiny place with 3 tables serves Hong Kong style foods feom Rice plates to Noodle soups, from street food appetizers to full size entrees. Menu is extensive and everything is fresh and cooked to order. Their empress chicken is a hot seller and tends to sell out on a daily basis. Portugese pork chop over rice and beef with black pepper sauce over fried noodles are just some of the many crowd pleaser. Itnis one of the few, if not the only, Hong Kong style cafe around Boston area. If you happen to be in the area, this is a must try.

This review is based on my takeout order so I didn't eat in just to clarify. The food is super good! I got one of the fried rice dishes and I couldn't stop eating it. My friend got the wonton noodle soup and I liked how they kept the noodles separate from the soup. The store itself was really small but getting our orders was super quick so maybe watch out for space if you're trying to eat in?

VERY hit or miss with customer service and order accuracy, but their food is solid when they get it right. There aren't a ton of places in the Boston area that offer traditional HK cafe style food, so we were pleased to find Jinye. I'm a huge fan of their lemongrass chicken rice plate, while my husband is partial for the pork chop with cheese & tomato sauce rice plate. Their milk teas (both Hong Kong and regular) are watery/weak, so I would pass on that. They've messed up our orders on two occasions (one time they forgot a bag with half our order, and the second time they gave the wrong meal altogether). They seem to have issues with inventory management as they are constantly out of ingredients (how do you run out of soup and cheese all the time??). Despite those shortcomings, we find ourselves going back at least once a week, so that should speak volumes about what little they get right.

Ordered delivery, Concubine Chicken Noodle Soup, Fried Pork Chop with Black Pepper Sauce Rice Plate, and fried spring rolls. Everything was delicious and the portions were really generous

Small place with good food. Remember to take cash if you are buying only 1-2 items. They generally take cash for < 25$.

I ordered it delivery. The food came cold and late, and my beverage was spilled and empty. I called to let them know, and the staff hung up on me never again.???

Live relatively close to Hancock St, but hadn't tried Jinye Cafe yet. Would definitely come back! My partner and I ordered T8) sandwich w tomato and egg, E1) tapioca w taro sweet soup, and E16) pork chop w cheese and tomato sauce -TASTE: 4/5 - everything hit the spot. Though super simple, the sandwich was tasty. Tong sui is one of my favorite desserts, and theirs was definitely sweet. The pork chop was the star of the show though; all of the cheese and sweet tomato flavors combined well w the rice and pork. Sinful! It also came w soup as an appetizer, which was a nice surprise TEXTURE: 5/5 - the toast was just right, and you can't beat the combo of tapioca and taro. Again, the pork chop was on point w gooey cheese, fried pork, and a base of rice to pull it all together. Couldn't get over how well done it was lolPRICE: 5/5 - our total came out to $31, great value!SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - the sandwich options are definitely light, and the pork chop is a satisfying dinner serving in a large tray SERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 5:30pm on a Wednesday and were the only party dining in, though plenty of folks came in and out to grab their takeout. Our food started coming out 15min later, and the staff was friendly ATMOSPHERE: 3/5 - a small, tight space w approx. five tables PARKING: 4/5 - Hancock St has plenty of two-hour free street spots, but can be hit or miss w availability. We got lucky w a spot directly in front of Jinye
