“Food was pretty decent. I like how the area isn’t too big and isn’t messy. I just expected brown rice, not pink. still tasted pretty decent.Parking: A decent amount of spots to park, totally freeKid-friendliness: There is no rules about any children.Bring Em’“
“Greatest Chinese food in The Jamaica Plain Washington Street area. I’ve been dining in this restaurant for just about 10 years now I Recommend.this restaurant to families and friends who love Great Chinese food..Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, you can manage a wheelchair into the restaurant for order and pick up food.“
“I always order takeout, but Mandarin is always filled with customers. I'm going to dine in one day. The food is always good, great variety on the menu. The ladies at the front desk who take my order are always pleasant. Try it, you won't be disappointed.“
“I absolutely love this place. Weather you are looking for a nice family dinner, any day, solo date, or hangover cure, this is the fail safe place to go. Food is always fresh and delicious. Hotpot and Sushi are my favorite cuisine and The Q has the best place in boston for both. Not to mention the staff are all professional and friendly. Chanthra and Johnny are my all time faves and they take great care of you ? (if you request them, let them know i sent you)Stop by The Q and try the Sushi Taco! It’s to kill for!!!!***Present your Student ID and get a discount when you pay with cash ?“
“Found this gem on Open Table. Traveling through the area and saw all the great comments on the cocktails. The service was awesome. Food was great. Restaurant is so unique almost like Savannah meets The Orient. A must stop if you are going to Cambridge. Zombie and Mai Tais perfect.“
“If you like an old fashioned New England Chinese/Polynesian restaurant this is the best one still in existence. I had a dinner plate with General Gau's chicken, pork fried rice and boneless spareribs and it was great. The prices are reasonable, portions large and the service was good too. This place looks like it has not changed since the 80's, but is in good repair and looks well maintained.“
“I really liked the food and enjoyed the ambience a lot. Good open space and the food was very tasty! Wait time was a bit long but service was good and food was worth the wait. I tried in flushing before and honestly it never disappoints. Really good Szechuan style foodDietary restrictions: Accommodating to allergiesParking: Parking in the area is hard to findKid-friendliness: Good space for familyWheelchair accessibility: open space“
“Steamed dumplings were great. I don't think they believed me when I said I wanted my food very spicy; I guess if you want spice here you need to really try hard to convince them you know what you're talking about.Wheelchair accessibility: First floor restaurant; no steps between parking lot and door.“
“Great taste ! Good serviceWe were served with Jasmine tea as we sat down and it was really amazing and had a unique taste which would soothe your soulOrdered the following1. Fried rice ( Veg) : Good quantity and great taste- 4/52. Garlic Eggplant : Sweet and tangy - 4/53. Pork belly - Too many red chillies -3/54. Scallion Pancakes - The dip/sauce served along with pancakes was too deliciousIn the end we were served with ice cold oranges as deserts and that was the best part of my mealOverall a great meal and a good vibeVegetarian options: Fried rice ( contains egg)- Cab be ordered without eggGarlic EggplantSoupScallion PancakesThey have a dedicated veg section with tofu as an optionParking: Free parking post 6 pm. Paid street parking all day“
“I have been introduced to this place years ago and I'm unsure why I'm leaving my first review. Love this place and I tend to come back multiple times a week for some spicy broth and crab sticks. Service is amazing here and the quality is superb. Currently forming this review now as I head there now with my partner for the second time this week and it's only Tuesday. Night time is definitely much more busy than the day time but the ambiance at night made it so much cozier than the times when we come in for lunch. Thanks la mei!“
“Was very lucky to score one of the more private booths on a Thursday night. Was secluded and quiet. You will not find more attentive service anywhere. I basically had my water refilled after each sip. Pretty spectacular. They run a tight ship! The food was simply outstanding. Get the watercress, soup dumplings and pork belly in mashed garlic sauce. So. Freaking. Good. Do Not get the chicken with dough twists. Oddly covered in tons of seasoning and yet none of the seasoning penetrated the chicken. Flavorless and dry. Loved the presentation of everything. Will definitely be back.“
“Great restaurant with awesome delicious food and choices! With even better owner/manager and staff! I have been enjoying the food, people and atmosphere of Billy Tse's for almost 25 years. I highly recommend it! It has only grown and gotten better with an added Sushi Bar with spectacular selection and presentation! Dine in, Take out or Delivery, Billy Tse does it all delightfully! ??“
“It was very quiet when I visited, I had been out and needed to get food and was craving Chinese food. I have many allergies, and they were very caring about what I ordered. Food was tasty and pentiful. Price was about average. Service was good.Dietary restrictions: They accommodated my allergies.“
“I have ordered pad Thai from this restaurant over 50 times. Recommend topping with peanut sauce, lime, and chili flakes or sriracha sauce. The rest of the menu is hit or miss, so I highly recommend you try the pad thai before you try other dishes.“
“Have been living in Boston for 8 years and this is the best Chinese food I have had out here. Might be the best general tsaos chicken I have had anywhere ever. Big portions, fair price, fresh, cooked to perfection. My go to is the general tsao dinner special w/ pork fried rice, crab rangoon and beef sticks. Comes with enough food for 2 meals. Ken and his wife are the best!“
“When I was a young teen 2 decades ago, living on allowances, this was the spot I hit up. I think at the time the combo was like $2.50 or something and I’ve never seen a line there. I use to go strictly for curry chicken with white rice. It was never the best curry, but it hits the spot on a tight budget. Today, I had an urge to pick up some pork bao to eat omw home, so I stoped by Chinatown to hit up bao bao bakery. At the corner of my eyes, I peeped Ding Ho and nostalgia rushed into my bones. As I approach the dinged up spot waiting in line outside the restaurant, I can’t help but wonder how much more expensive would it be now versus 20 years ago, considering inflation. My goodness… $6 for 2 side combo. WHAAAT? 2024. And it’s $6. I ended up with two sides of protein, 3 spring rolls and 1 Peking ravioli…. THATS $9.50. Hands down the best place to go in this economy. I don’t even care about the flavor. I got seasoning at home that can fix it up.(I ate a spring roll omw home)“
“Feel like something's changed in the past year or so. The food doesn't seem as cared for and has lost some of it's charm. not sure if just a bad day or if the chef has changed but other way feeling a little sad. still tasty but not the WOW it was “
“Great food and service. Definitely authentic food. The medium spicy is a little spicier than other places, so do be aware. The kungpao chicken was a great dish, a little saltier than normal. The pork soup and soup dumplings were on point. Def a good place to try.“
“I visited Boston Soup Dumplings last Sunday for a late lunch/early dinner. We were seating right away since it was around 4:30 PM, not sure if there's usually a longer wait during peak times! We got the Sichuan spicy pork wontons in green pepper oil, steamed pork soup dumplings, and wonton noodle soup. Everything was delicious and I will be back to try more soon. The spicy pork wontons were my favorite, they were perfectly spicy. I was even dipping my wontons from the soup into the green pepper oil because I couldn't get enough. The restaurant was very clean and the service was quick.“
“Excellent food and equally good service. We ordered the hotpot with potatoes and asked to have some extra veggies added. Our server gave her honest opinion regarding which veggies would be better left out and what worked with the potatoes. The hotpot was delicious. The veggie dumplings and the sushi was also very good. My favorite was the hot and sour soup. It was delicious, very tasty and comforting. I would definitely recommend this place!“
“This is a long overdue review since I first ate at Grasshopper when they opened in the late 90's and I quickly became a regular both for eat in and take-out. Fast forward to 2024 and it's a huge favorite for both my vegetarian and non-veg family members, kids and adults alike. My personal favorites are the delight soup and "beef" and broccoli dish with brown rice. We usually try a new dish in addition to our usual, and have yet to find one we don't like. With the generous servings and reasonable prices, we often buy a couple of extra meals to take home for leftovers. The staff is friendly, the ambiance is nothing special, but that's not why you eat at Grasshopper. I hope this place continues on for many many years to come.“
“This is such a wonderful addition to the halal food scene in Boston! This restaurant is tucked away, in a small Asian food court, and is a hidden gem! The food portions are large, and each entree is fresh and packed with a bunch of flavor (and “spicy” is actually spicy here, haha). We ordered the Spicy Beef Noodles, Samsa, and Chicken entrees and they were wonderful! We will definitely be coming back soon!!!“

“Real good place to have a Hot Pot. It was my first experience in this type of restaurant and I enjoyed it a lot! It may not be the cheapest (nor the most expensive) option but it could be the tastiest. The only bad thing is that you can't book a table and you have to go in person to wait. Still a really great experience!!“
“We ordered the beef dry wok and the spicy beef pot, both food were extremely tasty. The Mala Wok here is much better than the ones from Mala Restaurant right across the street, the portion is a bit smaller than Mala Restaurant, but flavor wise, was much better. The beef pot was also great, though not as good as Kung Fu Mala which is also across the street. I speak Cantonese and so do the staffs there, and they were extremely friendly and nice. Definitely should check this place out, extremely underappreciated, will definitely come back to try other items on their menu. 10/10“
“This place is one of the more popular hot pot restaurants in the Boston area. There is a small parking lot off the side street if you are lucky. The restaurant is huge with bar seating having individual pots and tables with shared pots. Service was attentive and quick. The house broth is included and any flavor is an extra charge. I got the A5 beef regular combo and it came with a choice of noodles and assorted vegetables. The udon noodles and beef were fresh and not frozen. It did give an impression of higher quality than other places. The flavor broth is really good and the portion for the regular meat combo was a good size for one person. You should get a regular combo for each person.“
“The girl who served us was absolutely sweetheart, she was so nice, she gave good recommendations and overall was so amazing! Definitely recommend and definitely coming back!Vegetarian options: I had a vegetarian soup option which was great because since I prefer it over meat.“
“Food great and big serving. The crispy duck not oily and very tender. Huge menu. They serve wine and Asian beers. Our server very attentive and courteous.Very tight seating and we are seated an inch away from the entrance which can get too congested.Overall experience was good. Definitely coming back.“
“Great place, great food, ok prices, but the wait times can get crazy and they don't use their waitlist app.Wheelchair accessibility: Not a very wheelchair accessable place as the aisles between tables is very narrow. They do have a wheelchair lift to get inside but the door without steps is locked from the outside so you have to go up the steps to get inside anyway.“
“Been there 3 times already and will continue to go. Food is great and tastes authentic (even if the design of the dishes feels somewhat formulaic).Milk and fruit tea options are a great combo with the spicy dishes.Vibe is minimalistic and modern, which fits the theme.I think the only thing they need is to update their marketing strategy to become more localized and attract more regular customers. As it stands it still feels like a brand imported from overseas.“
“The food there is always so delicious and the staff there are always so polite!!! The friendly man (not sure if he is the owner) took good care of us by providing us plastic aprons in case we stained our shirts, gave me another spoon without me having to ask, and overall provided great service. Food + service was a 10/10! My fav place to go now!!!“
“Best Chinese food ever! I ordered chicken and broccoli, amazing! Also ordered orange chicken (medium heat) another amazing dish! Tender chicken, but not greasy. I ordered and paid online directly through their website and picked up myself. Order was ready on time, staff friendly and accommodating. 5 “
“Ordered the dry hot pot and garlic bok choy. Both were very good and service was good excellent. Mala hot pot could’ve been spicier, but they have chili oil on the side if you’d like to up the spice. Added pulled noodles and they were the perfect texture. Would come back for sure.“
“I recently dined at this Chinese restaurant that left a delightful impression. The diverse menu offered many different flavorful dishes.. The attentive service and inviting environment added to the overall enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend trying their signature dishes for a taste of authentic Chinese cuisine.Vegetarian options: Pretty good amount of options for those who are vegetarian!“
“If you haven’t eaten here you certainly should, it’s a hidden gem with the best dumplings I have ever tasted. The lady who owns and runs it is a fantastic personality and a joy to see for every short occasion. I would have posted a photo to show how perfectly crisp they are but I ate them before I thought to post and ate them far too quickly. The homemade dumpling sauce is such a compliment. Highly recommend going out of your way to make it here for the times it’s open you wouldn’t regret it.“
“After learning it was my birthday, they kindly gave me a free bowl of noodles for longevity. And when we were cutting the cake, they played the 'Happy Birthday' song for me (we were the last table in the restaurant, and all the staff were clocking out, so it wasn't a disturbance for other customers). All in all, it was a happy, unforgettable birthday night. Highly recommend— the food is authentic, and the service is incredible. ❤️“
“We decided to try this cafe. Very small but the food is delicious. Ordered the rice rolls with liver (for you who like liver, it was yummy!) but they certainly had loads of choices of fillings. The Chow Fun (we had chicken instead of beef) had plenty of bean sprouts as it should be. Yummy homemade wanton soup warmed us as it was a rainy day and our last dish was the pork rib in bean sauce clay pot. Everything looked so tasty we cleaned off the first dishes before I remembered to take photos which are here! Lol“
“Soups here are very good and flavorful. The service is quick (implied by the name 10 second delivery) because the prep is done in advance. If you get takeout, expect noodles and most toppings to be packaged separately as trays to one container. Parking can be found on the side road. It's located behind Wollaston station.“
“Absolutely thrilled with my new favorite Mala and Sichuan food spot in the Boston area! I was not expecting all the dishes I ordered to be this fantastic. The standout for me was the dried stir-fried chicken with spicy Capsicum – it was so good that I couldn't resist ordering two servings that day. A must-try for any foodie in the area!“
“I know y'all go for the chicken, which I have yet to try myself, but y'all. Y'all. You have to try their drinks! These are also made fresh to order and MORE than worth the wait!!!I checked this place out for the first time partly because my buddy has been here plenty of times and he vouched for it, yet he's never tried the drinks! I wanted an authentic milk tea, or just some kind of nice refreshing beverage from a local spot, you know? Well, I got what I came for, okay?!!I started out with the Fresh Black Grape Tea, which was definitely fresh and made right in front of me, and definitely grapey. I found it having a good amount of sweetness, and it's just an awesome drink to get. Simple as that. There are grape bits at the bottom, so if you aren't too keen on that type of texturized experience or potentially getting something stuck on your teeth in the middle of your hot date, you may want to refrain from ordering this one. Otherwise, ball out!The next jawns I got were the Strawberry Milk Tea and the Passionfruit Slush, because I couldn't just stop at one.The Passionfruit Slush was super different than what I expected. I'm unsure of if it was just how it was made when I went, but there was very little to almost zero sweetness to it. They also must have put milk in there. I didn't watch them make it, but that's kind of what it looked and tasted like. I would actually order this again. It was smooth and so... different! Lol~The Strawberry Milk Tea was my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE. It looks exactly how I wanted it to look like, and it tasted even better!!! The whole thing was just FANTASTIC. It tasted CUTE! That's the only best way that I can put it. It is quite literally what it is called. Strawberry Milk Tea. It's light, refreshing and the flavor/sweetness I found to be right in between the black grape tea and the passionfruit slush. Just. Right. All in all, I obviously had a spectacular experience here and service was cool. I will be back for that strawberry milk tea specifically. Thank you.“
“Food is exceptional! Scallion pancakes & wings were very good, but the spicy braised beef w/ handmade noodle and braised pork belly w/ rice were amazing! We will definitely be returning to try out everything on the menu ?? Extra points for a very tasty brown sugar “
“I have been to DLY several times this past year and it is one of my favorite mala hotpot places. It is a newer spot and I like it's small, nicely decorated atmosphere. The first time I went I was shocked by how spicy the medium spice mala broth is (in a good way)! They do tell you it is spicy and it makes me sad to see people give lower reviews only because the broth was spicy because that's what szechuan/chongqing broth is! Theirs is especially spicy though even compared to medium at other places in Boston.I only get the spicy mala broth here. One thing I like is that after 10 they give 20% off discount! Prices are still comparable to other premium hotpot places but the late hours and discount sets it apart from other places.I love their knife cut noodles and it's only $1.99 per order. Other ingredients I have gotten are the beef plate and boneless short rib, bok choy, tofu skin, tofu puff, and enoki mushrooms. They also have other specialty dishes like milky beef, beef tripe, etc. Although it is not my favorite spot of all time in Boston, I think the late night hours and late night discount make it better than other places in some ways. The service here is quick and everyone is friendly and attentive to all your needs. Highly recommend this spot but definitely don't get the spicy broth if you don't like extremely numbing spice.“
“Nice lunch from JP Kitchen today. Food was cooked perfectly and was ready in less than 15 minutes.Ordered a large chicken finger - $11.95 - received 12 large chicken fingers cooked perfectly. :DOrdered a large crab Rangoon - $11.95 - received 11 tasty rangoons.Ordered a large Shrimp Lo Mein - $11.95 - got a nice LO Mein - happy surprise made with mushrooms and a reasonable amount of small (Quarter size) shrimp (peeled no tails).Condiments included: 1 Quarter size mustard cup. 2 Silver Dollar size duck sauce cups. 5 soy packets. 5 Fortune cookies.I placed the order via their website on a Monday at about 3pm (before the rush hour start) and paid with cash when I got there. There was no confusion. I asked in the comments for extra mustard sauce and the nice lady kindly brought me extra no charge and asked me if that was enough.I'm glad to have tried this restaurant and am happy they are in the neighborhood. Based on this order, I wholeheartedly endorse this restaurant to order food for take-out. Note I do not think they are open for dine-in.“
“Blue Orchid is our local go-to for Chinese take-out. I would give their food a solid 4- - they use chicken breasts, and their lo mein is not too oily or salty. My kids love their noodles. I always order delivery through Door Dash, and our food is always delivered within 30 minutes and for that, I given an extra star!“
“The best place for hot pot in Boston! So many choices to pick from and a sauce bar that you can mix your own or use the ones they have. They have the best broth out of any place I’ve tried and the wait staff is super kind and helpful if you have any questions! Always a good go to on a dreary “
“When you want to be seen in a cool place, pick Blossom Bar. When you want a top knotch Sichuan dish, pick Blossom Bar. You won’t be disappointed. Great food, a special buzz of excitement in the restaurant. They are a go-to place that won’t disappoint.“
“This spot has always had really good food. Unfortunately, I think people often drive by because of the location. Also, they were closed for awhile, and I didn't realize that they had reopened. To tell you the truth, a lot of the Chinese food I've had from other places lately has been very disappointing. So we were thrilled to see that they had reopened and their food has actually improved since last time we ordered, pre-pandemic! My husband and I ordered an appetizer sampler, sesame chicken and pork fried rice. Everything was crispy, all the right flavors and fresh. I really hope people don't just drive by to the other very overrated spot on Route 1. Out of Asia has taken precautions for social distancing in their establishment and are reasonably priced. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.“
“The restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere, and I particularly enjoyed their specialty, laghman, which was undoubtedly the highlight of the meal. However, I found the chicken dish to be excessively spicy and salty, making it challenging to consume. Additionally, while the pilav was decent, it didn't quite meet my expectations in terms of flavor. Overall, while there were some hits and misses, the standout dish of laghman made the dining experience worthwhile.“
“Looking for good Chicken Fingers, I found them. It's been years since I had good Chicken Fingers. When I traveled out of New England it was so hard to find Chicken Fingers, then I was told to ask for sweet and sour chicken. It's made the same way, just smaller pieces of chicken more like the size of chicken nuggets. Yummy makes them good size and how I remember when I was younger. I'll definitely be back.“
