The food has gone down hill. Thankfully our waiter seemed to be coked up and money hungry. Otherwise their would've been a wait like many around us.

Food was off the chain! Unfortunately it was so crowded we had to go sit upstairs in the billiard hall. Overall this place is outstanding! My lovely partner love St. Louis ribs and so did I but my sides were not great but just okay! Yummy!

March 30, 2024, was a phenomenal time at Theodore's. First our palate was stimulated by fine dining, our soul became invigorated by the Darrel Nulisch Band, warm and friendly patrons dancing and then the grand finale of locales playing their harmonic.

Stopped in for lunch today. The atmosphere is wonderful, with old signs and other antiques. The server was very friendly and welcoming, giving me some background and history of the place. I had the beef brisket sandwich, which comes with waffle fries. There are extra sauces at the table to flavor to your liking. The server later talked me into trying the Key Lime pie. All the food was excellent, and if you are in the area it is definitely worth a stop. Also, there is live music on weekends.

Second time we have traveled over 100 miles to have dinner here with friends and second time there is a private event going on with zero tables for hours and we arrived at 5pmSince you don’t take reservations, maybe try posting on your page when you’ll have private events happening so people don’t waste their time driving all that way for nothing.Won’t be coming a third time

What can I say, I've been going here for over a decade and I love this place! The staff are very friendly. The eating area is clean, tables, floors, and walls are natural wood which gives it a really nice feeling. A lot of antiques hang from the ceiling and there are beautiful murals on the walls. Bathrooms are clean. My only pet peeve, I wish they would clean that beautiful big mirror behind the bar. Years ago I watched the staff removing the liquor bottles, wiping them off and cleaning the mirror. It has a nice sparkle when it's clean. It's usually one of the first things I notice when I come in and lately it looks like it hasn't been cleaned since. Lol It has a grimy look to it. But I'm not eating off the mirrors so I can live with it.It's located downtown. The theme of the restaurant is of course New Orleans, Southern, and jazzy. The only issue can sometimes be parking. Especially after the pandemic when they removed some of the parking spaces for outdoor dining. You have to find metered parking on the streets. There is a parking lot next door but it's too expensive. I normally find parking because I avoid rush hour and busy weekends. Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous and priced well.Normally, you are greeted at the door. After they seat you, they offer a bowl of fresh popcorn. The food is excellent! Very very rarely have I had an issue with my food but if you do have an issue, let them know right away. They will quickly rectify the issue and replace the item. I've tried almost everything on the menu. Lol My favorite, in a nutshell, are the slow-cooked ribs and the brisket. The brisket I usually need to smother in barbecue sauce though because sometimes it's a little too dry. Their barbecue sauces are amazing and homemade. My favorite is their bourbon sauce. Their BBQ smoked burger is amazing! The cheese is real cheese, leafy green lettuce, crispy fried onions, and BBQ sauce. I don't eat it with mayo or ketchup because I don't think it needs it. It comes with waffle fries but I substitute it for another side. My favorite sides are their collard greens, mashed potatoes, and their cornbread with honey butter. I like their baked beans as well but you can tell the cooks that make them season and cook them differently and don't always follow the same recipes. Sometimes it's amazing and sometimes it's just okay. This is not a big deal. Their desserts are amazing as well. I love their bread pudding. Their alcoholic beverages are great. They have a nice menu selection. They have a stage for live bands, usually for weekends after 9:00 p.m. You can check out their calendar of events on their website and it will list the bands that are performing that weekend. If you can't make it often, try not to miss their Mardi Gras every year in February! I went for my birthday once and tried not to miss it every year since. They have a special New Orleans food and drink menu during Mardi Gras and an excellent band playing. Staff are super prompt with your food and very friendly. I have been to New Orleans and it gives me the exact same vibe as the big easy. Some of the underground bars there very are similar and really laid back. This is and will probably always be one of my favorite places to go in the city. It is truly a gem.

Love this place! It is an absolute favorite of my gf and I. It's welcoming and cozy with fun decor. We have a few favorite dishes. My gf is a vegetarian but still finds a variety of things such as. The mac and cheese, great salad, and the jalepeno hush puppies are an absolute mus for the both of us. The beef short ribs are to die for, I have to get them every time now. Highly recommend the potato salad for a side dish as well.

Drove up to Springfield from CT to see our son off to the Air Force - he chose the place, we paid the bill ?. Great feel right from the door... cozy, comfortable, and welcoming; and not cramped. It was suggested that we start w/charred and marinated Burnt Ends, so we did. The taste met the hype! 5 stars given by all table members. Waffle fries, w/ a variety of sauces on the table to spice things up, were hot, crispy, and seasoned to perfection . Fried pickles ?... delicious! I ordered the hot, honey chicken sandwich - flavor filled w/a delayed kick of heat; had sweat pouring down the backs of my ears! But I couldn't stop eating it, and a quick duck outside for an after dinner smoke cooled the jets right quick ?. Brisket melted in the mouth... slow smoked to perfection and slathered in bourbon BBQ sauce. And of course, we snagged 2 pulled pork sandwiches drenched in bourbon BBQ and honey... and licked our fingers clean because we couldn't get enough! The service was spot on, and we waited little time before food hit the table... so the kitchen was running smooth. Our waitress was attentive, well versed in the menu selection, and prompt w/initial greeting/ordering/check ins/bill. Ver refreshing experience - and not a meal we will soon forget, so we were beyond pleased. Highly recommended to anyone in Springfield, MA... locals and travelers alike need to give it a whirl!
