While visiting a friend in Federal Hill, we grabbed lunch at Mi & Yu Noodle Bar. After glancing at the menu on the wall, we ordered at the counter and sat at a table. My friends enjoy the Ja Jang Ramen with Roast Duck Carnitas and Noodle Bowl with 5 Spiced BBQ Pork Belly and Ramen Noodles in a Spicy Miso Broth. I walked from my hotel in downtown to this very cute little Ramen spot and it was worth it. Our first impression is that it was small. Definitely looks like the restaurant fills up fast if you’re trying to dine in. You order at the counter and the gentlemen was courteous. It took no time to come out and he brought it to the table. Mi & Yu isn't your typical ramen. There are different spins on the broth and the proteins. Broth is the basis for a good soup, and these are far more flavorful than your typical shio, miso, tonkatsu, or shoyu ramen soup bases. My absolute favorite here is the spicy sambal duck broth.Most of my family loves the soy-miso beef, which is very flavorful, but can sometimes be a bit on the dry side.
