We went for dinner during the soft opening. The food was excellent and service was great. Everyone we encountered was friendly. We had pork gyoza (my daughter wanted another serving it was so good), tonkatsu ramen, soft shell crab tempura, and a selection of sushi. You can see they are still working on the atmosphere but the kitchen was on point. We will definitely be back.
I used to really like this place, however since the name change the quality has gone downhill. The Teriyaki dishes feel incredibly watered down and it's obvious the vegetables are just throwaway from whatever wasn't used during the day. The sushi rice is gummy and even the quality of fish has gone down recently. Not to mention the prices went up!Going to have to find a new favorite Japanese place.

Newly renovated and gorgeous. I've been coming to the place for years when Bethesda was still the go to spot to go out for night life without having to go all the way to DC. However, since I'm older and "wiser" I don't go out to get shwasted anymore. But Hanaro aka Kusshi Bethesda, is still a nice sushi spot to chill and have a drink.
