Large gathering of family & friends in Ellicott room on 3/9. Larger than expected number came. Todd and his staff did fantastic job to accommodate. Food and service was superb. A testament to experienced banquet staff & management. Would highly recommend.

I have attended a few catered buffet events at Michaels, and you will not be disappointed if you contract Michaels for your event. You'll find fresh, tasty entree and side dish options. Fresh salad items with crispy lettuce and crunchy carrots, and dill dressing so good you'll want the recipe. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and the bartenders mix perfect adult beverages - not too strong or weak.
My husband and I went here for dinner. It was wonderful from beginning to end! The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and came out quicker than I expected, given how crowded it was. The prices were reasonable. I would absolutely recommend Matthew's 1600. We will be going back again soon!

I went there on President's Day to celebrate my nieces birthday. She had made a reservation for 10.We were stuck in a corner at a table that we had to slide around to get to the other side.Our waitress was not engaging at all. My granddaughter ordered something that she did not like, so she sent it back but kept the bread.On the bill, they had the audacity to charge four dollars for it. The gratuity was added automatically.I understand places of business have their policies. However, the service did not meet the amount of gratuity on the bill. I wanted the manager to know that we were dissatisfied.There was no apology for the lack of service and no offer to make amends.I'm never going there again, and I will spread the word to anyone and everyone I know or come in contact with.

This was the perfect venue for lunch with a trio of friends who hadn't seen each other in a couple of decades. Service was quiet and unobtrusive, allowing us plenty of time to chat and catch up with each other's lives. Food portions were generous and tasty. The shrimp salad sandwich had just enough Old Bay, the club sandwich was large enough to feed several diners, and the bento box (with crab cake) was amazing. Best of all, everything was delivered promptly with the encouraging words, "Take all the time you need. I know you have a lot to catch up on."We'll be back!

Nice dinner. Well presented. Our waitress was unclear about prices and what came with the main course, causing extra charges on salads. No big deal. Learning later you have to ask for bread at the table, that was a deal. So peeps, if you are like my dad, and judge a restaurant on their great warm bread, well, here you have to ask for it. I used to come to Matthews a lot. Not sure about the future.
We had my Dad's Celebration of Life today at Matthew's 1600, for about 46 people. The private room was very nice, staff and food were awesome. Highly recommend if you are needing an event catered.

Matthew's has a warm & comfortable atmosphere generated by their natural wood decor & very friendly employees. The bar is a square, see-through design that allows open views of the restaurant's dining area.Drinks are proper & the spherical ice cube makes for a high-end experience. Food is delightful.

My family dined here last saturday. The food was fine, the server was fine. What wasnt fine was the limited menu we were only allowed to order from. This menu only had their most expensive choices that they raised the prices on. Yes, there was 15 of us. What is the difference whether 15 people are divided between 2 tables or 1? In addition, the automatic tip added on the bill was 22%. I TOTALLY get the tip being automatically added in. But. When did 22% become a thing?. We all really felt that matthews really took advantage of us. I do, appreciate the accomodation tho.
