Pho Saigon has been a staple for Pho in Catonsville/Woodlawn for years, I remember coming here frequently with friends when it just opened up in high school, introducing people to their first time having Viet food. Over the years the restaurant has added more to its aesthetic, making it more lively and trendy with colorful ceiling tiles, tables, nice wallpaper and wall art. Food wise I like to mix it up between standard Pho and Vietnamese Rice dishes. Last time I got the #75 Com Suon Bi Cha Dac Biet - Grilled Porkchop, Pork Skin, Egg Meatloaf, Chinese Sausage & Egg over Rice. Presentation is great, and flavors wise the meats were tasty, but there's some things I think could've been better. The grilled porkchops were a bit on the dry side this time so I had to use more fish sauce, and the egg meatloaf portion is super tiny, would've been nice to have a bit more. Overall though still a nice tasting dish! Other times I've had the standard Pho, and it is noteworthy that their large sizes are VERY large compared to other places, so just keep in mind that large Pho's here will have a ton of broth, which is nice! There's a good amount of meats too, though some of the beef slices are a bit on the chewy side, some places serve the beef slightly on the rarer side so it gets cooked by the steamy broth and is more tender that way, but here it's usually served pretty well done. The broth in my opinion could also be better, I've had much deeper beef bone flavored broths at other pho places, here it tastes more salty rather than savory/flavorful, if that makes sense. One thing that makes this place stand out from all the competitors in Baltimore, or even Maryland for that matter, is their iconic Man vs. Pho Challenge! 4 pounds of delicious noodles, beef, and pho broth. All to be eaten in under 30 minutes. Even if you don't finish (which you probably won't) it's still a fun experience to do with friends, and you get to take any leftovers home with you. But if you do manage to eat it all, you'll get your picture taken and put on the wall of fame at the front of house, and you get the meal for free! I've done the Pho challenge in the past, and my friends tried it recently, always a good time. There are a lot of other Pho places in the surrounding area, but whenever I'm back in town I usually always prefer to go to this one. Definitely a solid Catonsville Viet food staple :)

This is the most tasty and valuable pho restaurant in Maryland what I tried ever.

I saw this was the #1 pho place near me so I decided to stop in - and it's one of my favorites I'd have to say. It was my frist time in. The staff comes across mean but they're actually so kind and accommodating. It was crowded at 2 pm in the afternoon. I got a small bowl of the #1 pho with all sorts of meats - the tripe was really chewy and there was only one meatball but there was a lot of bean sprouts and limes which some places get stingy on. The pho was great - wish I would've gotten the large to have more left overs! The shrimp salad was disappointing it was mainly bean sprouts and shrimp for $16 - but I was able to take home and make my own spring rolls. It's a small restaurant with mainly booth seating - but the staff is so hard working. Worth the trek if you're craving pho from the city!

The pho is really good but honestly you can get cheaper pho that is just as good in Catonsville. I paid $24 for a large chicken pho with tendon on the side... I left satisfied with the pho but felt robbed especially because if i spend over $20 for pho at other restaurants Its because I got an appetizer too. Only came today because my favorite place a few minutes away is closed on Thursday:(

I wanted Pho and my normal spot was to far to drive so I decided to give this place a try. I must say it was busy inside with dine in customers. My Spicy Chicken Pho was good. It was spicy however not overwhelming. Broth was flavorful ingredients was fresh. Chicken was tender. I definitely will add this to my list of favorite spots!

I always get the #7 pho and the spring rolls. The broth is very clean tasting and they give you plenty of side vegetables and sauces at your table. The amount of meat is average, not lacking but not a lot. Spring rolls are fried to perfection with juicy filling, and served with refreshing vegetables on the side. The taro and honeydew smoothies are delicious with great texture. The service is extremely fast and efficient. Relaxing music is playing inside as well. The prices are a little higher than I would like but I am still loyal due to their consistency, quality, and service.

I ate here for the first time tonight. I usualy eat at Pho Pasteur. Tonight my wife wanted to try a diffrence place, so we try this place.Pho is good, very hot wich is how I love pho. I had a large, and my wife had a small bowl. I dont mind paying for higher prices, but my 16 dollars bowl of pho have 2 slice of each meat, and my wife bowl is same. Please charge as much as you need to stay in business, but please give a decent portion so I dont have to go home and eat some rice .

This might be the best restaurant in all of America. Ordered pho #7 and grilled chicken #73. Both were the best of all the pho restaurants I’ve been to. Thai Ice tea and Chicken spring rolls were both incredible as well. 10/10 Highly recommend.

Came here with my Dad the other day after coming up to see my brother who lives in the area. When the food came out it looked good but what really threw me off was the smell it was really pungent (guessing it could have been the amount of fish sauce(?)), the noodles were good, chicken was alright (found a bone in my soup so be careful when eating!).Broth (besides the smell) was ok, not bland but didn’t stand out.Tofu rolls were good, peanut sauce was average. To reiterate, the smell was what really threw me off here as soon as they gentleman brought it to the table I smelled it; was pretty harsh on the nose to me.After our meal, the gentleman came up & asked about our meal after telling him I found a bone in the soup, he proceeded to tell me ‘well it is pulled chicken’. I understand mistakes happen but I’m pretty lucky I didn’t bite into it an apology would have been nice instead of just talking to me like I’ve never eaten pho before (I’ve been to at least 15-20 different pho spots, never found a bone in any of the others besides here). All & all 2/2.5, not sure if I’ll be returning.
