“Came without a reservation button they found us a table..and on a Saturday evening no less. Nikki took good care of us. Whatever we needed like extra brown breadVegetarian options: Great beet salad and sides.”
“What a great meal. Came with my parents and grandfather for my dad's retirement dinner. Parking was so easy, there's a big lot behind the restaurant that still had multiple open spaces!! They start out with bread for the table which was so good, chewy, and warm. My mom and I had to stop eating it or else we would've ruined our meal! We got two of the same appetizers, I'm not sure exactly what it was but I think it was called La Terrine de Gibier, the photo with the slaw and cut bread with a cut of meat on the middle. I typically don't like these types of dishes but this was very very good. For entrees, I got the almond crusted trout and switched the potatoes for rice, it was delicious, however the fish a a tad bit over cooked. I still ate the whole thing though!!! My parents split the filet mignon, pictured on the tray and another on a plate. The meat was done perfectly, my dad gave me a few bites, but he and my mom loved it. My grandpa got the calf's liver, he really enjoyed it and loved the mash potatoes with it. Personally not a fan of animal organs but he loved it, it's one of his faves. For dessert we all got our own, I got the poached pear and it was absolutely ICONIC. BEST dessert I've had at a restaurant in ages!! It was so so good, light but creamy and decadent. My grandpa got the sorbet and loved it, I had a little bite of the raspberry scoop and it was so tart and yummy. My mom got the profiteroles which were yummy but she liked mine dessert more. And my father got the chocolate mousse cake, he absolutely devoured it. The service was great. We had our reservation at 6 and left around 8:30-8:45. He was attentive and kind, and our other servers were awesome. Very attentive to take our finished dishes and made sure our water (mainly my water) was always full. The vibes were nice. It was giving cottage core, warm and welcoming. A lot of seating for many people and they dim the lights around 7ish so for those with iffy eye sight be aware of that! Overall, recommend!”
“I am so happy to have a restaurant of this caliber in Friendship Heights. It's the sort of dining experience I expect to have downtown but I'm thrilled to have it just around the corner from my home. We came in without reservations on a Saturday night and had no problem getting a table (again, a place like this would be packed if it were downtown or somewhere like U Street). The food, cocktails, and service were great. Jose took good care of us. They are not kidding when they say the XL plates are meant to be shared--we split the short rib sandwich and it was massive. We ordered a few appetizers and the scallops with the toasted bread was our favorite (maybe ask for more bread so you can fully soak up that excellent parmesan sauce!). And leave room for dessert! We had the ube ice cream and it was fantastic.”
“two days ago was our first time we visited this restaurant. But It is surely not the last time. We had great time with the attentive service, with the magnificent dishes and wine and with the modest charge. We will definitely return there in a short time.”
“This spot seems like a local institution. They had live music- two guitarists playing in the background. The atmosphere was perfect and the food was really tasty as well. The restaurant is underground with no windows but the murals and lighting make it seem as if you’re transported to Portugal. Overall, an older clientele but a lovely spot.Parking: There’s a free parking lot for customers to use.Wheelchair accessibility: There’s a ramp to enter the restaurant to accommodate those in wheelchairs.”
“Fantastic NEW beer & wine space with an upscale indoor/outdoor bar area. Perfect place to get what you want or try something before buying it. Can’t wait to visit this place again!!!!”
“Giving this place a solid 5 for overall experienceI stopped by Junction for lunch with a friend and this was my first time here.I got a bit overwhelmed at first because they have a few different menus and also one posted on the wall.I proceeded to ask the waitress what her favorite dishes were and she said “there’s a lot that I like” I liked her response because It means she tried a lot of the dishes and there really isn’t much you could go wrong with. She began going into detail about the different dishes and that made me feel really comfortable because while she was explaining I was reading the menu and she was spot on. She spoke with so much passion I was excited to enjoy my meal.We ordered a set of wings, the drunken fish combo and the $5 happy hour punch. & not to mention there Happy Hour is Monday- Friday 11-8pm! I love It here! lolI like my wing fried hard which they weren’t but they were cooked well. The fish sandwich was HUGE & crunch my on the outside but soft on the inside. The fries were my favorite- so tasty. The drink was not your typical rum punch which was a nice touch but was definitely not expecting that.I would definitely come again and maybe next time try some of the baked goods!Kid-friendliness: Kids are definitely welcomed!”
“The owner is always friendly. Her food is very good and good quality. The smoothies are yummy. The homemade home fries are delicious The Spinach Melt Panini is a must try. She has several breads to choose from. If you’re in the Barlow Building stop in grab some breakfast, lunch or a smoothie.”
“Everything was on point-food and service. Our server, Andrew, was amazing, the best server we've had anywhere in years. The food was great...the bread “basket”, the tomato soup, a garden salad, the salmon, the short ribs, and a cappuccino finish. Really really good dinner!”
“The new location is truly so clean and pleasing to the eye. I really like the fireplace. The best part has definitely got to be the service. Very attentive, kind, and genuine. Specifically, Noam brought our smoothies to the table which made my day! Totally recommend this location!”
“Been working in the area for years and never knew this place existed until a couple of weeks ago after I saw their name on a sign outside the building they are located in. The Deli is on the lower level in the plaza and easy to navigate to. Great selection of lunch sandwiches and they have some Mexican food dishes too. Wide selection of chips and beverages as well. Enjoyed the tasty sandwich at a reasonable price and the really nice service. Glad to have another lunch option in the area.”
“This cafe is located in the Surgery Center building. Looks like the patrons are either people who works here or people visiting the building. Definitely repeating customers. Friendly interactions between the lady in the front and customers. Place is clean. It has wide variety of selections. There are about 12 tables. I was able to get a table at 12:30 on a Friday. I ordered for here and got the Steak & Cheese Supreme. It came with a pickle and small bag of chips. They will bring the food to the table. The Steak & Cheese smelled amazing as they placed it in front of me. It tasted equally amazing. Not sure why they have a low rating but don't let that scare you away if you ever find yourself here.”
“Very convenient location. Food is good. Staff is friendly. I would recommend this restaurant for people who work in trades it's an old restaurant and sitting is limited.”
“The food is always great and the service is amazing. I just love the pizza, I'm never disappointed. I truly appreciate how the manager and owner interacts with customers and staff, that's why I always come back to this establishment when I'm in Chevy Chas.”
“Great place to grab lunch - got the $32 bento box and the fish was super fresh. Went on a Saturday around 11:30 and it was pretty empty and the service was very quick and attentive. They also do validate parking!”
