“This is a nice suburban restaurant near The Mall in Columbia, Maryland. The service is attentive, and the restaurant itself is comfortable. This food doesn't push the culinary envelope, but it is flavorful and nicely served.We had the French Tease cocktail, a riff on the French 75, which they altered at my request to be less sweet.I had two small plates as my dinner. The crab cake sundae was a bowl of Maryland tomato- based crab soup, which had a ladle of cream of crab soup in the middle, and in that was a crab cake and a crab claw. It was an interesting dish, and all was perfectly fine. The waitress did not think that was enough for dinner, so I had the fried oysters with bacon and onion dressing with a surprisingly spicy black hot sauce. The oysters were small and a bit greasy, but tasty. We shared the grilled asparagus with burrata and hazelnut gremolata. It was pretty good, but the asparagus ends were woody.My companion had the scallops served with roasted mushrooms and an onion risotto, topped with a bacon soubise sauce and crispy leeks. It was tasty, but it is a very heavy preparation for scallops. I think they were a bit lost in all the rest of the food on the plate.We ended with a very nice and creamy key lime pie.So in summary, the serving sizes are quite large. The food is fine. The service is attentive. There was nothing that would particularly make me want to return, but if someone else wanted to eat there, it would also be okay.“

“KCR is the most beautiful classic place for a meal in Howard County. The food in the past has lived up to the ambiance but in the most recent visit there were some let downs. The meal started with an excellent Brie and an excellent Riesling. The main courses were Crab Cakes and Veal Margarita. The Crab Cakes were very good but not quite as good as past visit although I still would go back for them. The big disappointment was the veal. It was a really ugly piece of veal that reminded me of processed meats. A bland marinara sauce over soggy spaghetti made the dish almost uneatable. The best part was perfectly prepared vegetables so it wasn't a total loss. A fruit tart was excellent as well. I still love the place so hopefully this was just a once off.“

“First visit and certainly won't be the last. Had brunch and enjoyed everything consumed. Started with the Fried Oyster Deviled Eggs, which were really good. Main entrees were the French Toast and Smoked Salmon Toast. The French Toast is way too much for 1 person so it was split between 3 people and there was still a slice remaining. It was quite tasty but there was an orange flavored taste that took away from it just a little. I really enjoyed the Smoked Salmon Toast, no complaints at all and the same goes for the pitcher of Planters Punch. Our waiter, Silva was awesome, put grenadine in our glasses to enhance the punch and it was perfect. My friends ordered the Shrimp Frittata and both enjoyed it. Can't wait to come back and I forgot to mention they had live music which was nice.“

The camarones rancheros were rich and spicy with plump shrimp, tasty rice, and homemade tortillas (more like unfilled pupusas) to sop up the sauce. The pupusas were delicious. “I read some of the reviews of this restaurant prior to arriving because I was staying at the hotel. At first, I was a bit skeptical of even entertaining the idea of trying this restaurant based on what people wrote, therefore, I started researching other restaurants within close proximity. Whenever my wife and I arrived at the hotel (7 Feb 2024), it was a little bit later than anticipated, so we ended up just staying on property and eating at this restaurant - thankfully it was still open.When we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted very nicely by a couple of employees. Since it was a weekday, the restaurant wasn't busy at all so it was quiet...adding to the enjoyable/relaxing atmosphere. When we sat down and read through the drink menu, I quickly realized that I was on the East Coast because I saw one of my favorite beers on the menu...Yuengling! Being from Las Vegas, NV, we don't have that beer in the city, as odd as it may sound, considering that city has pretty much everything. So whenever I travel East, I try to find this beer whenever I can.Our server, Meaza, was phenomenal! It was refreshing to have a server who was very friendly, attentive, efficient, and amiable...because it seems rare these days to have customer service like this. Our food was amazing; it's unfortunate that other people didn't have that same experience (based on their reviews). We ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wings, Salmon Piccata, Spaghetti Frutti di Mare, Sautéed Spinach, and Steamed Broccoli. I will say that I've had slightly better Buffalo Chicken Wings, but these weren't awful either. Having experienced so many different restaurants in Las Vegas, it can be difficult at times to eat anywhere else without having a bias towards Las Vegas dining. But I can honestly say that the quality and quantity of this restaurant's entrées were remarkable.The following day, my wife and I tried the breakfast at this restaurant in hopes that the previous night's dinner wasn't a fluke. We opted for the full breakfast buffet because for one, I reserved the hotel room that comes with this buffet every morning. Also, it's more beneficial, from a price standpoint, to get the full buffet ($16.95), versus ordering off the menu. You can also order the continental buffet which costs $11.95; however, I wasn't in the mood to just get cold breakfast food. The options were spectacular...and the quality of the food was even more astonishing. We ended up eating the full buffet for the entire stay and the food options were the same for the most part - I think my favorite entrée/item on the buffet line was the Mushroom Casserole and of course the bacon. Also, of noteworthy significance, both Irene and Angela did such a prodigious job with their customer service skills to which I wish this business would publicize their incredible skills for other restaurant's employees to emulate. They were both VERY friendly, professional, attentive, and highly efficient in every way.The décor was nice but I felt that the fabric on some of the booth seating could use some deep steam cleaning...to include the carpets. Overall, my experience here was extraordinary. I can't validate others' experience, but based on ours, I highly recommend this restaurant to all visitors and locals.“
