“Loved their food. There weren’t much people. We were served by a nice server named Seema, she was very hospitable and helpful. We ordered mughlai paratha as appetizer, goat kachhi biriyani, chicken malai tikka kabob, and Nurani kabob. We liked each of the items. Highly recommended. Tip: They should organize inside the restaurant to make it cozier. Overall, really great experience.“
“First time to try this joint. Very casual cozy little restaurant at a strip mall in Germantown. Hubby and I had cravings for Indian cuisine. This is near the New Grandmart International grocery store so it's perfect location for our purposes. The staff were so friendly and professional. It was a refreshing experience. We got the assorted platter that had chicken tandoori, samosa, lamb and veggie patties with a side of tamarind and green chutney (cilantro and mint). Every bite was delicious! The samosa had crunchy pastry on the outside and perfectly cooked. Lamb and chicken were full of flavor, marinated well. I got the butter chicken and he got the curry chicken. I tried both. I prefer the butter chicken but both were delicious. We got a side of naan and mango chutney and pickled veg . They went together well. Overall a wonderful experience and will definitely come back. I got the Gulab Jamin to go so I'll keep you posted on that dessert! Come try this place.“
“We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Royal Tandoor and had a wonderful experience. The food was definitely the best Indian food we have had in the Gaithersburg area, the service was excellent and the atmosphere very pleasant. We’ll be back for sure!“
“Amazing customer service skills. It was our first time at Apna Pizza and the front staff was super friendly and guided us through the menu. There was little to no wait time, and the food tasted and looked amazing. 10/10, will definitely go again!“
“Came in late Tuesday night around 10:35. The gentleman at the desk was very polite and informative, as this was my first time. The food is delicious along with perfect craftsmanship. 5 stars across the board. Thanks for a great late night experience. I'll be “
“We either dine in or order out from here about once every 1-2 months for the last 2-3 years. There hasn’t been a single instance when they’ve disappointed. Every single time, every single dish is delicious. Good job keeping up the quality.“
“Today I delivered a refrigerator to this restaurant, the staff was very pleasant and friendly, when I was finished with my delivery Sateeb offered me lunch. I haven’t had Indian food before so I was a little reluctant to try. I’m glad I did. I had the chicken lollipop, the flavor was unmatched, totally taken by surprise. He then offered chicken biryani, this is a traditional dish, it was amazing. All the sauces were good. 10/10 I would recommend and definitely will be going again“
“Very sweet, loving, down to Earth owners and staff.Loved the vibe of the Restaurant (felt like we reached an Indian shop). Fresh food, great tea. Loved the Vada Pav, A must try. The Gobhi Parantha and Aloo Tikki was okayish. There are so many sweets too, which they prepare at the place. The kachoris are good.At least one should try this place once (SPECIALLY THE INDIANS , COME ON)“
“Went for a birthday celebration dinner on a weekday evening. The place features a large selection of vegetarian dishes, but mostly not the "usual" lentils and cauliflower. We ordered the large sampler dish, to get familiar with a variety of dishes. It came with 7 different samples, all of them very tasty, flavorful and unique. Highly recommended. I especially note the rice cooked in coconut milk and cumin, and a superb dark daal soup - thick and spiced to perfection. Very helpful and attentive service and a calm ambience and décor. It was a wonderful evening.“
“UPDATE: I have had the food twice (tasted 4 dishes, 2 vegetarian, 2 of them the daily special) since the initial review. Food was excellent, plentiful and good value for the money. It would be a 5 star review, except for the many two portion\person dishes. While the aim is family style dining, is this the local clientele near Flower Hill?ORIGINAL REVIEW:Disappointed\ing without even the food. Went in and asked for the butter paneer special = one portion, not the standard two person dish) which is in the menu photographed under the Google maps menu button.Cashier said it was a mistake but he could do vege sides platter as no other vegeetarian special today Saturday). I asked could he do a one person butter paneer but was refused. I was surprised at the [short sighted] lack of flexibility, especially in a restaurant's first days. I cancelled the other meated dish and left.Very few vegetarian options (most are only on specific days). The two person dish requirement also excludes people living\dining alone from full menu choice or where two patrons don't want the same dish.“
“highlights are : the food was delicious, very traditional and authentic (made with love and intention), service was perfect - with a smile, and wait time was short! We had a chicken dish, a mutton dish, garlic naan and rice pudding. ZERO complaints from me, and I usually have at least one. I was impressed that the chef and owner came to check on us to make sure our experience was flawless.“
“A really delicious Tamil Nadu lunchtime! Excellent spicy butter chicken using tandoori chicken. Crispy dosa with delicious masala and sambhar. Idlis were a bit crumbly so maybe not the freshest. Ok okra. Sweet mango lassi. Friendly and attentive staff. We'll be back!“
“The food was delicious, the timing of the food was good. The service was awesome. I wish the portions were bigger enough to take home, but this is Rockville and inflation going on. The vibes were well, mediocre. I just used to ordering biryani and getting like a box full. Maybe it's just depends on the location. Maybe I will try carry out once and check out the portions then. The Chicken Biryani. The portion for a Biryani is usually bigger. Those crunchy onions were a hit or miss. Raisins and nuts were unnecessary. Chicken, I prefer authentic and bone-in. Very small portion with small chicken pieces. The flavor was delicious so I commend them for that. I would've preffered the Indian salad.“
“East or west punjabis are the best ? ? ? ☺️ ? ? ? ? ☺️ This is like the perfect punjab village food I have ever ate...don't go with the look at the place cause this restaurant is old...but really good food...food heaven.“
“We have thrown surprise birthday party, every food item was very delicious, cost per person is economical , very good hospitality, we recommend to visit oftenVegetarian options: Many varietiesDietary restrictions: Perfect - less spicy , less oilyKid-friendliness: Very mich“
“I love indian food! Today, I decided to try Spicelife and learned that the owner is the same as Commonwealth (one of my favorites). So, needless to say, the food was just as good (or better) without the higher cost. In addition, they give you a lot of food. The space is large, clean and staff very friendly. I will definitely be “
“Table setting was very nice and the food presentation was beautiful and very tasty. I loved the lamb chop with the creamy sauce and spices. I enjoyed the North Indian cuisine and so did my family. So thankful my son and his wife invited me to go on Thanksgiving Day!“
“Writing this just after finishing my lunch. When you’ve got such a huge spread you expect a few of the items to be mediocre but not with this spread. This is a great option to tingle your South Indian taste buds. Adults or kids there’s plenty to choose from and enjoy!!“
“I can along during my the Fall 2023 Semester since up the street at walking distance is the USG Campus—they offered great lunch special for student which is a plus. I hadn’t tried Indian food before coming, but when I came for the first time—I tried the butter chicken, and samosas along with the complimentary naan bread. The food is so amazing and good! I definitely recommend this place when you’re in the area.“
“This is the absolute best Indian food I have ever had. I have been going to this restaurant for over 5 years, and I have never been disappointed. Wonderful restaurant and owner, Louis, who is very personable and professional. The food is always delicious, from the entrees to the samosas and garlic naan! Other Indian Cuisine restaurants, in the Metropolitan area, do not even come close!“
“We saw their great review in Washingtonian and decided to try them out. The food was delicious, so good! I ordered the Butter Chicken, my wife ordered the Goat Biryani and we shared an egg Dosa. The butter chicken was great, so much chicken. I was worried I saw reviews saying how little they received, but mine had around 30-40 pieces of chicken, way more than I could eat. The goat biryani was good too, well seasoned and done perfectly. I would definitely order the egg Dosa again, and I recommend it to accompany your meal. Finally, I ordered garlic naan to go with my butter chicken and also recommend it to dip into the butter chicken. Will definitely be back, there were a few other menu items I wanted to try so will be back soon!“
“I always forget to review this place whenever I come here, and I also don’t take good photos because I am stuffing my face the whole time. This is one of the best Indian buffets that you can get in town. For $21 on the weekend, you get a full buffet that includes many specialties, vegetarian, and non-vegetarian dishes, multiple desserts, coffee, chai, and mango lassi. You really cannot beat this as the value is great, and the amenities are even better.Fresh naan is brought to your table, and services extremely efficient despite how busy they can get.The food quality itself is also decently above average for all of their dishes.I would say, my only complaint is that on one corner of the buffet, it is impossible to go around people and can get quite congested during their peak hours.I highly recommend coming here, if you are in the area and are looking for a fully balanced meal with more items than almost any other buffet.“
