“My husband and I always love coming to this place. We celebrated my birthday this weekend here. There were 11 of us, to my surprise! This is one of my favorite places to go. I just love everything about this place. Sadly, they were very busy and could not seat us for almost 2 hours, nothing they could do about people not getting up for their tables after they were done eating. I never understand this. If you're done eating and you see all those people waiting, why not get up and go to the bar??? Anyway 11 people and everyone loved their food!!! They did a great job! As well as dessert! There wasn't any dessert left on any plate! It's was a great time for everyone!!!“
“Lisa was our server A++++++. The entire staff was amazing! We sat outside, great option! The entire staff pitched to make sure we were taken care of. The delivery of the food was lightning fast! Can’t rave enough. Just do it ?????? as a local there are few places that deliver. This is one of them!Only one small silly thing, I don’t like Country music but we got some Queen so it worked out??“
“What's not to like! Always awesome. Food is always great. Service is just as great. Strawberry blitz, banana royal, potatoes tara and fresh squeezed oj. Excellent!!! Little bit of a wait to get in but the speed of the kitchen staff makes up for it. Been coming here for years plan on many more.“
“One of our favorite places when we are in town. Great food and beer options. Their house wing sauce is probably one of the best I've ever had. Like a spicy asian flavor. They always have a Burley or two on tap.Just to add, their happy hour is second to none. Buy 1 get 1 on pretty much anything (nothing frozen).“
“Sunset Grille is, truly, one restaurant that you need to experience. Make a reservation because this hot spot is very popular. Why? We took my wife’s cousin for a birthday dinner. We were met at the front desk with a cheerful hostess that quickly led us to our table. In a few seconds, Mitchell, our waiter greeted us with water and menus then asked if anyone would care for a drink of another kind. He carefully went over the dinner specials of the evening and asked if anyone was thinking of an appetizer. Our ordering process went smoothly and attention was given to be accurate. All of our dinners were brought out hot and delicious. Mitchell was keen to be sure our drinks were full and that we were satisfied. The evening was a resounding success and we all went home with smiles on our faces. This was no fluke. Every visit to Sunset Grille ends the same way.“
“We always stop by at least once to Happy Jack's while visiting! Service is fast, food is great and we are always full. Some of the servers have been there forever and we love seeing them again. I have many shirts from here I wear proudly :) Can't wait to go back for an omlette & pancakes!Kid-friendliness: Kids menu is perfect for the littles!“
“Fast and courteous service, I saw some reviews about the Fish and Chips, the server recommended the other items first but then said that was a good choice too. I went with that and it was good. Except one thing, the fish was left in the fryer a tad longer than needed, both ends of the piece were overdone, as it is thinner. The middle was great but I would rather the whole piece be good. Plenty of fries, cole slaw was good too.“
“First off, this is just my opinion based on my experience at OC Street Food. Your experience may differ, for better or worse. This unassuming spot is tucked into the small Gold Coast Mall. It's pretty bare-bones inside, but it serves its purpose. The owners are very friendly. While I was dining in, I was asked a couple of times if I wanted extra sauce or if there was anything else I needed.I ordered the chicken and shrimp kabob combo plate with an extra chicken kabob. The food was absolutely delicious, and I can say it's the best kabob I've ever had. Both the chicken and shrimp were exquisitely seasoned and perfectly cooked. The accompanying rice, sauce, and salad were also top-notch. Prices are your typical OC pricey 9.7/10.I will surely be back for more!“
“Great food. Great location. Great atmosphere. Great staff onsite. Only took off a star because their phone system does not work. I was trying to place an order ahead and online says it’s unavailable and I couldn’t call anyone. It was a bit disappointing and inconvenient.“
“Will probably turn into one of our gotos when in OC. Going to save the last star until we go back, but given our first trip, I'd expect next time they earn it. Great beer selection. Lots of original cocktails. Wood fired pizza oven.**Edit: We made 2nd visit and it was even better than first so giving 5th star. Great place for OC to have. We'll definitely be a frequent visitor...**Edit: We now come here EVERY TIME we visit OC. Every time....“
“Tonight we visited for dinner. Had the cowboy burger. Cheese , bacon , brisket i think on two 4 oz., smashed patties with barbecue sauce that made the burger delicious. Wife had crab cake with mashed taters and onion rings. She stated her meal was very good..Ordered cheese fries and the fries were waaay too salty. Could not finish them. Outside of that , the service was awesome ! I think we will be eating there again but maybe skipping the cheese fries.“
“My wife, daughter, and I stopped by here for a dinner on our way from Philadelphia to Ocean City, MD, on a Saturday evening in December 2023. Although given the restaurant’s excellent reviews one would expect the place to be crowded on a Saturday evening, we were the only patrons at the restaurant that evening. This may have been because we were there on the 23rd of December, and the restaurant was closing down after that evening’s dinner. The experience of being the only three folks seated at the restaurant was a bit surreal, but it did make sense given the time of the year, and then later on we saw that almost as soon as we left the building, the staff brought the wreaths inside and started shutting the place down.Coming to the food, which is what one cares about the most at a restaurant, I had been following the restaurant’s Facebook page for a few days prior to our visit and was getting excited at seeing some of the specials that were being listed. During our visit, we ordered an appetizer from those specials – a beet salad with pan fried goat cheese, as well as an entrée – red wine and rosemary braised leg of lamb. The other entrée we got was from their regular menu – shrimp and grits – and finally for our daughter, we got the chicken tenders. The lamb was rich and flavorful and what shocked us was the price tag for that item at $22. I doubt I have ever seen a place, including food trucks not to mention sit-down places, offer that quantity of lamb for $22. For my wife for whom lamb is her favorite meat, this entrée proved to be an excellent choice. The shrimp and grits I had were nice as well, although a tad under salted. It came with a side of fresh veggies that were nicely done and flavorful. My daughter enjoyed her chicken tenders as well. The portion sizes were huge, and the chicken tenders had more fries than I ever recall seeing accompanying a kids’ meal!! Prices were reasonable enough that even with all of this food, plus a drink, and a fairly generous tip, the total came to $98.While the ambience of the place isn’t much to write home about, situated as it is in a generic nondescript shopping mall, we would happily come back to this place if we were in Ocean City again, attracted especially by their wonderful specials and great value-for-money.Parking: The restaurant is located in a nondescript shopping mall so parking is not hard to come by.“
“We stopped in just as they were opening. The lady at the front counter was very busy taking walk in orders and answering the phone for take out orders. She was very efficient. We ordered 2 cheesesteak subs to go. They were superb! They were some of the best subs that we have ever had. If we lived in the area, this would be our “go to” restaurant! Great service and food!“
“We had Colin for our server, and he was awesome. The little guy with us was having a rough night and the staff helped us out by giving him oranges and lemons, as well as being very patient. The food was unique, and very impressive, good happy hour and thankfully were open in the winter/ off-season! Definitely “
“I really enjoyed brunch today. The menu had so many interesting choices but I went with the beast burger. The burger was made with bison, elk, and wagyu meat. Cooked medium rare just the way I like. Topped with crab dip all on a great bun. I substituted the sweet potato fries for regular fries and the we are great.Service was great and I really enjoyed the views. I definitely will go back.“
“My husband and I went to Hooked for appetizers and drinks. We had the crab and corn bisque....it was fabulous, as good as and that we have had in Boston. We also had the boom boom shrimp, wonderful as well. We highly recommend and we definately want to try the entrees!“
“Appetizers: fried mozzarella, Maryland crab soup and coconut shrimp.Entree: jerk chicken sandwich and crab cake sandwichThe appetizers are a bit overpriced for the amount that you get. The food is delicious though and you can’t beat the views“
“Hoooyah !!! Hello my people this is blackceaser the world traveler here doing another food review ...I have to admit service was much to be desired but with patience and a light tongue this was worth the wait I had the hot turkey platter with the traditional icecream soda and CCCCLLLAWD have mercy george on my life I have never been to a restaurant that excelled at both....the Mac and cheese was good and the wait wasn't bad five stars too you guys ...blessed be the God of heaven an all his host !!!“
“We shared the delicious and meaty cream of crab soup. The shrimp cocktail was good but the cocktail sauce was nothing special. We also shared the rib eye which was perfectly grilled and the mashed potatoes and spinach were delicious. Our server was Anna and she was very pleasant and did a wonderful job. We were staying at the hotel and we were impressed.“
“I saw the Eagles barely beat the Commanders here on 10/01/2023 during Ocean's Calling. The place was packed with Bills fans but they were great. Food was good, service was great, the staff was getting hammered but they held up just fine. We will definitely stop by again next time we're in town. To the owner, I tried to bring the Eagles energy up as best I could.“
“We visited here over the summer on a family vacation. The food was GREAT!The night we were there, I'm pretty sure the never of the waitstaff that we had was having a really bad day, as she dropped multiple plates on the ground and partially on patrons at another table. She also lost another table's credit card and it took far too long to find it. Watching the "show" definitely made the experience unique.Surely there was a full moon or something. My wife returned near the end of the summer season. Her experience that time was much less eventful, but equally as delicious!“
“BESTTTTTT GRITS I HAVE EVERRR TASTED. Everything was delicious from the pancakes, bacon, eggs and lord the way the cheese is mixed in with the grits baby pleaseee. The service is nice and genuine. You definitly enjoy Laytons.NOT A CRUMB LEFT.“
“Great little family owned restaurant with good food and service. Our go to breakfast place with tasty, hot and plentiful food. The omelets are very good and the fried potatoes are fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere is welcoming as is the staff.“
“Service is great and the food is creative. The flights are amazing and the price point is reasonable...great space. Lisa, the owner, is always on top of everything making everyone's experience special. We've been going there since it's inception...wish they still had the spicey salmon with roastEd Brussel sprouts from the original Red Red Wine menu.Best hamburger I've ever had with the pork barbecue topping...everything is yummy!!!“
“I took my family and parents in law there as well as my wife's grandmother for our first time ever...We absolutely loved it ❤️ food came out nice and hot ,fresh foods were very fresh ,fried foods were fried to perfection ? ? and the sides were great with the exception of the old bay seasoned potatoe chips which were either over fried or old ,but since we did go there around the last hour they were open, I wouldn't say their chips aren't fresh all the time. In spite of the chips I would highly recommend this place for anyone hungry for any kind of seafood and if you like crab dips you need to try theirs, which comes with about 8-10 little baguette bread toasted perfectly. It was decadent!!!!Kid-friendliness: There was a high chair and even pictures for children to color and two crayons...“
“My family and I stayed right next door the other year for the car show/cruise. Girlfriend's son wanted pizza and we decided to give this place a try. Hands down the best mozz sticks around !!! The pizza was beyond amazing, the staff were friendly, service was prompt and the atmoshpere was great. My wings and stromboli I shared with my girlfriend, was crazy good !!!“
“This has great deals, great food. A diner and bar is awesome. Tacos, awesome nachos with fresh ingredients, an awesome fish sandwich, fried clams, crab cakes to name a few.Visited again in December 2023 got a burger and fries, & a Boston Sidecar. Our waiter seemed like he was one of the all ones there but he did a great job. Bar and restaurant.Parking: There's a free lot it's like in a gas station parking lot and there's few other stores there like a mini mall.Kid-friendliness: It's a bar and restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: It's on the ground floor so easy access to get in.“
“Service was great, baseball game on but empty table and bartenders over right away. The soft pretzel is the best pretzel I've ever had, ever. It's crisp and crunchy on outside, in the middle soft, with a nutty buttery topping. Best ever. Must have.“
“It is always a great place to eat great food and drinks!... bartender "Norm" is a valuable asset to this business! He is personable, attentive, and all around a good person!.... My wife and I will definitely return and share our experience with our family and friends!“
“Great food and great service. We had the steam pot and some blue crabs and everything was near perfect! The crabs were fat and tasty! Highly recommended if you're looking for a laid back not on the board walk place to have crabs in Ocean City!“
“Best fries ever. Seems like a long line, but it goes fast and is worth the wait. My only regret is not getting a larger size. Definitely recommend and will be back for more. We like it with the vinegar - bring your old bay if you want more than just salt. I wish I snapped a picture of the crispy deliciousness.Parking: At the inlet“
“Unpretentious but don't overlook Layton's. Server Amy was on top of every aspect of our breakfast. Our group enjoyed scrapple, which isn't that common on menus anymore and don't miss the chipped beef. Prompt refills of coffee with creamers on the table and we were set for our morning on the boardwalk.“
“I've been coming here since I was a kid. They have the best chipped beef there is, period. All other food we've had has been great too. Service is quick, friendly, but not fussy. This place gets busy, be prepared. If you're driving by and they're open, you should stop.“
“This is a quirky little place to eat breakfast. The decor is 1980s odd. Menu is simple. I got a cheesesteak omelette and it was full of steak and really big and good. My wife got a ham, mushroom, and swiss omelette. It was a tad wet. Maybe from the ham. She enjoyed it. We loved the potatoes. They were like little 1" steak fries. I HATE hashbrown style so these were a plus. Place seemed clean and the lady helping us was very pleasant. It will be a go-to place for me for sure.“
“Stopped here briefly for a drink and to check the place out. It is part of a hotel so the pool is for those guests only. The bar sits up high for great views and the stairs may be a little tricky for those who may become a little tipsy. It is a cool little place with easy Boardwalk access and a fun vibe. I'm sorry I didn't get to try any of the food.“
“Perfection is all I can say. Every bite of egg had cheese on it. The scrapple was cooked better than I knew was possible. The owner Patty, taught me how to slice it thin and fry it to crispy glory:). Patty helped me sprout/grow and I am still getting warm fuzzy tingles from my experience there.“
“This was a really cool place. Tons of outdoor seating right on the water, seems very popular, and demographics covered young to old. Also got some killer sunset shots from the patio. I didn't try the food, but was warned it was pretty mediocre. Nevermind that - go sit outside, grab some drinks, and enjoy the view and the vibe.“
“Two things to be aware of before you plan to go to the jungle bar. Number one: if you want to be at the outside bar, which is where the live music takes place, keep in mind it's always in the shade in the afternoon and evening. It can get quite windy and cold back there even on warm days.Number two: the staff can get quite snippy when they are really, really busy. I can hardly blame them, but if you're not expecting it, it can hurt your feelings! Generally, they're very good natured and fun and love their jobs. Be kind to them and tip them well!I think the food is above average for a bar, and most of the musical acts are above average as well. You have a great view of the ocean and beach there. Prices are reasonable for this inflationary age we live in. What more could you ask for at the beach?“
“One of the better places in OC for crab cakes. Not much in the way of atmosphere, but so what? And the prices are much more reasonable than some other local restaurants. So don't judge a book by it's cover. I hit PGN every trip to OC!Update: Went to OC in September. Went to PGN for dinner. Lump crab cakes were not very lumpy at all. Probably using a cheaper crab supplier. That being said, the crab cakes are ok, not good or great.“
“Denny’s is a wonderful place I’ve ever been too in my life. I enjoyed the Slamburger. * It’s almost like having a Breakfast Cheeseburger.* I love the cookie skillet. * It’s so good when you put a cookie with Vanilla ice cream on the top.* This is the best food I’ve ever tasted in my life and I can’t wait to come back here to try something else new.“
“Important Details (entrees between 12-20$)GOOD: Food and value for it which is rare on this boardwalk which will take you to the cleaners. The service was also very good. Nice beach view too.BAD: Seating is a bit cramped and tight (if you're a bigger person) It gets busy quick, but it is a credit to the quality-value combo offeredBull on the Beach was an excellent experience. It is one of the few board walk restaurants that won't stab you with jacked prices and provides tasty quality too. The wings special (10$ for 8) rocks - and tasty too.My "Humpy Dumpty" sandwich (tender pit beef and eggs) was also excellent. Give BOTB a try. It's a major boardwalk standout.“
“Soon as I walked in, I was greeted and seated right away. The food is delicious and a reasonable price. They give you a lot if food. I ordered pancakes, sausage and eggs, so much food, I couldn't eat it all and it fidnt take very long for the waitress to serve my food. The waitress was very friendly, I left her a nice tip to show my gratitude.“
“First time eating here but it will not be my last!! One of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever tasted!! Very impressed! 10/10 customer service, food quality and quantity. Great atmosphere overall. You will definitely get yours moneys worth too!!!“
“This meal was actually one of the best we had in ocean city for overall experience. The service was fantastic. We sat outside with the beach and boadwalk views. The wings were the best we have had in a long time. We tried the original breaded bone in wings. They were huge and crispy. My only negative remarks would be that they charge 1$ extra per blue cheese or ranch dip. It would be great if one came with it! The drinks were good as well. We had an orange crush and a purple hooter.“
“We met up with family for what turned out to be a delicious lunch. The six of us were so happy visiting and enjoying I forgot to take pics. There were 6 of us, so we started with the pretzel and beer cheese which got devoured with our tap beers. I ordered the blackened tuna sandwich and pasta salad. So good! The others in our group ordered CBR tacos, burger, steak mushoom cheese sub and wings. The food was a homerun as was the service - we all were happy and satisfied. Scheming for our next visit.“
“Our first time here, went with friends after reading reviews for the past year and this was our first opportunity to go. On Friday night's during the "off season" they have Karaoke night which we thought would be fun to experience. We were greeted upon entering and could select any table since we arrived before the regular crowd appeared. We had a super jovial waitress, Sydney who was pretty attentive while she also was tending bar on the other side of the restaurant. There's a pretty good selection of dinner entrees, sandwiches and vegetarian items that sounded delicious and I had a hard time making a decision. I ended up picking what I've wanted to come there for, their signature chicken sandwich, which after hearing it was the best, I was disappointed. I definitely have had better. It was flavorful but the size of the chicken was small and what you see in my picture was most of it, hardly anything under the bun. So $21 for that meal was not the best value. It did include 1 side and the handcut fries were very delicious! My husband ordered the chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich that was quite impressive and he found the sandwich very delicious. Large chicken breast and a nice thick slice of ham with Gouda cheese. Supposedly a side came with the sandwich, however we didn't notice until we got home that we were charged extra for the side, but for the portion size of that dinner, it was a good value and less expensive than my Sammich. Our friends ordered 2 different variations of their "famous" meatloaf, which they both said was VERY good and they ate everything. One had the meatloaf grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough and the other had the meatloaf entree which included 2 sides (mashed potatoes and green beans were selected). As they were meatloaf connoisseur's, they were impressed. All the comments and silence while eating the meatloaf speaks for itself. I saw several items on the menu that peaked my interest and hope they're there next time we're in town, but specials rotate and I hear the chef is quite creative. So we shall see. We will return as I'd like the chance to try something else that I had debated on trying, but I'll skip the chicken Sammich and go elsewhere for that sort of sandwich. OH and for those that know, I have a horrible sweet tooth, so I HAD to try the cinnamon roll that again everyone exclaims is remarkable and I kept drooling over when posted on FB. Well, another huge disappointment there. It looked lovely with drizzle and it came warmed; however in trying to cut the first bite, it was very hard, like it was stale and warming was used as an attempt to revive it, used to cover up older product. The center was moist, flavor was good, nothing that I would crave or order again. The karaoke was fun and many regulars seem to come out for a great time and great support for those that are singing and being friendly to newcomers like us. It was a nice experience to go and just observe. Only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 is from my meal & dessert.“
