“Vegetarian options: I placed an order online for delivery and for holy week my family and I aren't eating meat so I put in the instructions no chicken and the lady called me to make sure she got my order right and she even changed my egg roll to a veggis ones without me even telling her witch I loved cause she went out her way to make sure I had no meat in my order! I will definitely be getting food from them again and the food taste good, best Chinese food I've had around this area!“
“I've reviewed before, but the new owner is sooo kind. The food is always super good. I've heard some customers be super rude to him just because delivery can take a while even though he tells you in advance, but either way he is always very friendly no matter what!“
“Solid Chinese takeout and carry out food in the downtown Silver Spring area! Did takeout from this restaurant the other for a late lunch and glad I did. The food was prepared fresh and delicious. I ordered a General Tso's Lunch Special and a Sweet n' Sour Soup. All were prepared perfect and tasted excellent. Food was ordered and ready right on time; roughly 10 minutes from the time I walked in and placed the order. Not sure with what the food would look like as this was my first time coming here, I was in for a pleasant surprise. The General Tso's Chicken was still piping hot even after driving back home for about 15 minutes. And, most of all not soggy or mushy!.... something I can't stand when ordering takeout!! The plate and servings were hefty and quite generous. The chicken was a mixed between white and dark meat. It was seasoned just right and so crispy, even after sitting in the container for my drive back home. The General Tso sauce was very tasty as well. My only gripe is that the dish comes with fried rice and I am not sure with what's up with most of the carryouts around the DMV, but a lot of them served this yellow - orangish fried rice that is not the most appealing to me, but I must honestly admit....it was dang good. Lol. I prefer a more wok-charred, brown fried rice over the neon fried rice served here and other places around the DMV. The Hot n' Sour soup gets a thumbs-up and good marks from my end. It was tangy, spicy, and sweet all roll into one. A delicious bowl of tofu, mushrooms, tamarind, and spices that aim to please. In all, Mandarin Restaurant is a solid option when in the Downtown Silver Spring Area and you are looking for something good to eat. The owner was very pleasant and he greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. His wife was very friendly as well and made sure I had all the proper fixings I needed to complete my dish; including my request for extra soy sauce and hot chili oil which complimented and elevated both dishes very well. If it wasn't for the neon orange looking fried rice, I probably would've given this place five stars as a first impression. Also, they could've served more broccoli in the dish than the two pieces that I received Lol -- see pic as receipts. The restaurant itself has limited seating but it appeared to be a popular takeout service with most that came in and patroned the place. A decent winner in my book and will definitely be back to try out other dishes.“
“Even though it is a hike for us from Virginia to MD, we can't help but make the trip at least once a month. Halal food aside, it is simply one of the best Chinese food places around.Vegetarian options: There are many. They are super flexible in a la carte style preparation if you just tell what you wantParking: Plenty available any time i visit“
“We tried this restaurant again yesterday evening and the food was quite good. Many Asian families occupied large round tables and the diners seemed happy with their choices. We enjoyed the hot and sour soup, double mushroom with mustard greens and a steamed Sea Bass ($34).“
“Eastern Carryout is a true gem in the DMV area, offering the finest Chinese cuisine I've ever tasted. The food here is nothing short of extraordinary, with each dish bursting with flavor and freshness. From classics like General Tso's chicken to more adventurous options like Szechuan shrimp, every bite is a delight. What truly sets Eastern Carryout apart, though, is Angela's exceptional customer service. Her warm and knowledgeable approach made the dining experience truly memorable. Angela's dedication to ensuring a perfect meal reflects the restaurant's commitment to excellence. I highly recommend Eastern Carryout for an unforgettable culinary journey in the DMV.“
“This is my go to place in the area. They have great fried rice, and their mambo sauce is decent (on the sweeter side). My favorite dish is the coconut shrimp!!! Oh my goddddddd, I’m big on shrimp and I love coconut so obviously coconut shrimp has always been a favorite but the way they make it here is just soooooo good!!!! Not only are the shrimp well cleaned but they remove the tails and fry them up first than toss them in this really yummy coconut sauce! The result is a nice well breaded and fried shrimp with a delicious sauce! Looks like a glazed shrimp donut lol ? it’s soooooo good! Definitely recommend.“
“The food at either location has been consistently amazing any time I’ve gotten take out. I primarily go to the Grubb Road location, my favorite dish when they have it is the Japanese curry, but the sushi and wok/kitchen meals are top notch!!“
“We enjoyed a shrimp dish, general tsos chicken, and spicy eggplant. We asked for mustard and they gave us little containers of their own mustard - which is really good. We walked in not knowing it was not a sit down place. I give them a good rating on atmosphere because it was clean and they had a little table to sit at while we waited. Plus, the woman we ordered from was very nice.We ordered quickly, the place was clean, and they cooked our food quickly. Will definitely go back.“
“Very solid Chinese takeout. The customer service was great and delivery was quick. I thought the food was good and the price reasonable for a causal, quick, Chinese meal when you don’t feel like leaving the house. It’s my go to for that scenario.“
“Very good Chinese food and plenty of it. Portions were big.Vegetarian options: The Chinese menu has a wide variety of vegetarian optionsDietary restrictions: Many ingredients can be customized to suit your needsParking: Adequate on property parking lotKid-friendliness: Good for kidsWheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible“
“QQ China is the closest location to me for Chinese takeout. It never fails me, I always get my order hot and delicious. I also like the portions of the food, I always am satisfied. It is a local staple for Chinese food in the Aspen Hill area.“
“(Translated by Google) It is an old Chinese restaurant, the price is reasonable, the food is generous, and what I like most is that the taste is not too salty.(Original)是中式的舊酒樓, 價錢公道,食物有份量,最喜歡的是味道不會太鹹。Parking: 大量停車位“
“This was a great last minute find when we were needing Chinese food (and starving). Lovely quiet atmosphere, delicious food, and fast, hospitable service. We had kung pao, chicken and snow peas, dumplings, wonton soup, and broccoli beef (so tender). We'd go back next time we're in the neighborhood.“
“My family and I love their food (NH Ave Eastern) and eat their take-out at least once (sometimes twice) a week. My daughter loves the chicken wings and we all like the pork lo mein. Favorite entrees include the orange beef, garlic shrimp, sesame chicken, beef with scallions and onions, and the 8 jumbo shrimp and French fries from the American menu. The wonton and hot and sour soup is great too.“
“My go to neighborhood place for Chinese. They switched to carryout only during the pandemic and have never gone back to in person dining. Food is excellent and people are always friendly when picking up. Try the crispy beef. As good as at many fancier Chinese restaurants.“
“I have ordered from this place quite a few times . No disappointments yet. Some carry outs have so much MSG etc in the food nowadays you can just taste the difference. Their Shrimp fried rice is a great dish. Every time I order, they have very pleasant customer service so very friendly staff. Will recommend to order from here!“
“Carryout order. One of only 2 Dim Sum restaurants serving after 3PM in the I270 area. Food has gotten better since about a year ago. Prices are more reasonable than most Dim Sum restaurants. This restaurant has been around a while and has been on the struggling side post covid. If you are in the area it is worth a try.“
“We came in for lunch yesterday. Served was super helpful with recommendations! The rainbow soup dumplings was 2 of each of their soup dumplings which were all amazing! We also loved the cucumber in garlic sauce. My friend loved the Chongqing noodles! They are a nice vegetarian option with a tasty sauce served with boiled peanuts and a fried egg. We also had the spicy oil wontons. They were very good although I did end up dabbing some of the oil off. Looking forward to coming back and trying other things!!“
